Delivery delays

However if price protected it might make sence to take delivery!

Absolutely! Our price protected Adria, which we signed on the dotted line for in mid October 2021, (now mooted for delivery at end of August 2022 but we’ll see if it happens!), has already gone up by more than £6.5k in value due to a manufacturers price increase, with the possibility of another to come in the second half of the year.

Due to the well known delays and shortages I’m in no doubt that I could: a) do a deal with the supplier, withdraw from the sale and at least pocket 50% of the price increase; b) see it through to fruition and then immediately sell on as a new vehicle at very close to the new RRP, which wouldn’t include the modest discount we originally negotiated.

But of course we are going for option c) get out on the road and enjoy the thing!(y)
(Whenever it decides to turn up ;)).

Ditto; Option c) for me too. I want the van I ordered after considerable research of the available options, but now with the potential benefit that it's depreciation should I decide to sell or upgrade has been significantly reduced. I'll settle for a 6 month+ delay on delivery diverting my plans to a couple of Cruises this Summer instead!(y)

So we’re in the same boat then - metaphorically that is, not on the cruises!

Well I have some good news. After asking the question nearly 2 weeks ago about delivery dates I received a call out the blue saying my new Deffleths had arrived. At first I was stunned and to be honest didn't believe him to the point I asked for photos of confirmation. 2 weeks on and we are now parked up in the field at Lowdhams in Nottingham sitting in our new Deffleths. It all happened so quick and can't quite believe that we brought it at the NEC in February and now have it. So maybe a good news delivery story amongst the stress funsters are having waiting on theirs getting delivered.

I am assuming this must have been a stock vehicle.

Blimey, don't know how you managed that.Ours was a dealer pre order expected this April and now October at earliest but congratulations and enjoy!

Just wondering if anyone has experience of your dealer telling you that your Motorhome is built and the company has been invoiced but no one actually know when it will be delivered!?

Dealer suggested maybe 10-14 days but we are now on day 16! 🥴

No knowledge of that. I think U.K. vans have to be paid for by the dealer before 12 months is up, hence some big discounts on old models in years gone by. I understand my dealer has 30 days to pay after receipt for their foreign vans but cannot guarantee that to be correct

That makes me very happy, we are waiting for May/June delivery from Lowdhams. Hopefully ours will suddenly be delivered too! Enjoy your van :-)

I was having a look through the Deffleths production line paperwork and outs came of the line at the end of March so it took 6/8 weeks to get delivered. According to the dealer they are just appearing a couple at a time so hopefully yours will turn up soon.

Fantastic news, today our chassis number went into the Adria system for our new Twin 640SLB Supreme on a Ducato chassis with a delivery date to the dealer of 6/7/22. Also back to the metallic silver too 😊

Hopefully this will all unfold as planned now. I’m taking it that having the chassis number in the system means it is physically with them and just entering the production line so the estimated date will be likely correct.

Anyone know how the system works for certain would be appreciated

i can’t explain how happy we are now when it was bought over a year ago

Thanks for that I'll check with Highbridge who are dealers for Adria, Rapido and several others to see what the stanadard is if any between manufacturers.

Great dash300 would you kindly ask them what their understanding is of what having the chassis number really means in the time line and post back here. As a big Adria dealer I would think they would know for sure

We came up from Spain a few days ago, and couldn't help but notice that the dealers forecourts in France were full of new motorhomes. 🤔 Bob.
That's interesting, perhaps they have built up the LHD orders to acceptable levels and perhaps RHD orders might now get some focus.
Just musing on the info! (y)

Did you get any warning that it was likely to arrive a few weeks before, or was the call out of the blue once it had arrived at Lowdhams?

No warning it just arrived. However I did message them a week before to see if there was a delivery date. Didn't get a reply then 5 days later I got the call saying it arrived. To say I was surprised is an understatement.

No - Chausson 640. Ordered Feb but a stock order that Lowdhams already had on order. May/June delivery and last week they said they still expect it in June.

Ah okay it's coming from France. Hopefully Chausson are not as petulant as Macron or you'll be lucky to get it this year.

Question emailed to my man but 'out of office' till Thursday. He responds pretty quickly on receipt.

Reply from Highbridge pasted below.

'Normally get a chassis no. show up on the ordering system once the van is in production, then we ‘d expect to see the van within about four weeks.

At the moment however we are getting vans showing that they are complete but are awaiting a missing component which delays the release.'

Update received on our Chausson. The Motorhome is built but they are just waiting for some parts (so not built really) but at least it’s started!
