Delivery delays

BigGandher Re: the right hand side hand brake. Until I got used to it, wearing loose legged shorts, I often ended up handing off it until I hauled myself back in the cab.

Chausson - ordered Feb - it was a one the dealer had pre ordered. On a Ford base.
Ah ok
Think fords are in better supply and as you say it was pre ordered
We are waiting for a Burstner on fiat cab

I managed to rip my shorts descending from the cab ... :swear2:

Not sure that I would trust an electric parking brake on a new Ducato. Our car has one and 2 years of use still leaves me uncertain that it will hold on a slope.

That handbrake on the right plus an emergency sewing kit for my shorts is my preferred option ...

I’ve had two cars with an electric handbrake and they’ve been fine
One of the things I’m looking forward to as heard when you swivel the drivers chair it can catch the handbrake

Well to update, popped into Highbridge earlier on today as we were passing to check on our Rapido Dreamer Living PVC Van heavy chassis Auto order of 12 August 21.
Delivery put back from April this year to end October this year. They were quite upfront and gave me a printout of the Rapido order they have and still showing no change from end of Oct with the Vehicle shown in red meaning Rapido have the PVC van from Fiat and it is ready to be built including all the upgrades I specified. Nothing else they can say, they want to deliver asap to get their full commission!
So we continue to be quietly patient and hopeful but still not letting go of the boat yet!

My youngest son decided to sell his Jag and opted to rent/hire a VW Tourareg. That was last August. His original delivery was November, then March this year, Now he is being told September at the earliest. Seems there are not enough chips and other components available.

Seems there are not enough chips and other components available. Definitely shortage of chips,
Asked for gammon and chips for tea and had to have gammon and bubble and squeak as they had run out of chips

Just had an update from our dealer
A class Rapido on a Fiat base ordered October 2021 for March/April 2022, then delayed to October 2022, now looking like January 2023.
Fiat still in a mess and seem to be suffering more than others so much so that many converters are moving to manual Peugeot/Renault

Yup I am awaiting a similar phonecall as you and many others have had! It's got to be an auto so it's got to be Fiat.

The only positive is that when we have finished with them, they should be sought after

dash300 even more so now that the Living Van you are waiting is no longer in the 2023 collection. However after being told by Highbridge that the H3 Ducato would no longer be made in RHD, Stellantis have now done a U-turn. Too late for the model I want, the Family Van, as Highbridge were made aware of this too late and did not order any.

Good info, but that's a shame for you. Clearly Stellantis are in a bit of a shambles and would appear have underestimated the strength UK market!

Hi dash300 Ive seen a thread on here that included a photo of a van the same as mine but lesser spec and it is marked up at £79,999. What a big increase if correct!

Did you catch my updated review?

The Adria online configurator is back up and running if you want to input the spec to see how much the price increase actually is.

I have now Roy thanks for the reminder, been away on the boat for the last 10 days. A very informative read and information to take on board. My spec van if ordered today would be 15k more than ordered August 2021!!!!!!!!!!(y)

The price is fixed at time of order/deposit paid and I have that on my invoice. Highbridge still have on their website Rapido Dreamer Living Vans such as mine advertised as 'arriving shortly' ho! ho! with substantially lower spec at 10k more than I have on my invoice. If I add my spec. of heavy chassis, auto,160hp plus all the upgrades it works out not far short of 15K more. I am sure they would like me to pull out of the deal and return my deposit as they would sell my vehicle on with a substantially increased profit! I will ping them tomorrow to confirm the invoice price again as a belt and braces confirmation. Looks like we will be keeping the boat a little longer!
You won't get your van with a 160ps engine, they stopped producing it back in late July. There will only be the 120ps (light), 140ps or 180ps available.

If it's also specced with the Truma iNet, you won't get that either as Truma discontinued it 6 months ago.

I thought the 120 had been discontinued as well just the 140 & 180 now.

I paid a deposit on a pre order August 2021. Any more good news to share!

Well at last some good news. Email from Highbridge this morning that the van is indeed due to arrive around 29th Oct and they have supplied me with the Chassis No! (y) So 14 months from deposit to delivery. Price increase about 14K too with my spec.
What's the tenth digit of the VIN, is it an N or a P?

N = 2022 model
P = 2023 model

My MAN TGE which was ordered also August 2021 is a 2023 model (I've also got the VIN) and due about the 18th of this month.

It's Fiat Chassis not a VW.

The dealer has told me twice they are honouring existing orders for 160bhp engines.

Well finally! I just received confirmation that our Adria Compact Supreme has been produced and is currently on its way to the German dealership. The last update I received was that it was scheduled for week 50 production, but unless they built and shipped it in a couple of days, Adria must be running ahead of schedule. That's all the information I have because my contact there, probably the only English speaker, is home with Covid-19. I'm hoping that it arrives as ordered. It was a dealer order placed on 13/8/21 and we contracted it, with upgrades added, in mid October of 2021. I was not given a guaranteed price but I have been told several times that Adria intended to honor prices on vehicles originally scheduled for production prior to March 2022. Ours was slotted for 01/22 so fingers crossed. A silver lining is the current EUR to USD exchange rate as I will be converting from USD. So, even if I have to eat a price increase that should soften the blow. I'll post more details once my guy gets back on his feet.
