Delivery delays

With the Chinese going Back into lockdowns supply chains are going to get worse. In my industry with normal Manufacturing lead times of 8 weeks we are now seeing 6 months for some components. Mostly related to items with electronic parts.

I wonder with shortage of things it will lead to stuff actually being repaired instead of just thrown away

VAG source wiring looms from Ukraine which has caused some or maybe all of their factories to be closing for a minimum of two weeks!

Today is the date they have given us for the build completion of our truck with delivery next week.
I wait with baited breath.
Will i be surprised if we hear it's delayed.......not in the slightest. So much so we have booked a hotel for a couple of nights next week in Wales.
Will go in Bertie if the weather is forecasted to be good.

We ordered a MAN TGE bespoke specification back in August 2021 for conversion to our spec. I've just been advised of a build of the base vehicle in week 21 of 2022 and possible delivery very late June 2022. Then of course there is the added conversion time so it will be twelve months from order to completion at best.
I'm not holding my breath for any of these dates to be met!
I admire you patience👍

Sorry we got rid of ours:cry:

Was expecting contact to be advised our van's build was completed yesterday.........................did we get the message...........did we Flip, oh surprise surprise.

I daren’t ask about mine as it will just compound the disappointment the longer it goes on with no real news ☹️ Still it will come, one day, my excellent dealer tells me. It must be really frustrating for them and not good for their business I suspect.

Just been given a new date for our Adria Twin, moved from 24/5 to 30/6 arriving with the dealer. I have no faith it will be here then and no confidence in Adria as they don’t even give any indication why the delay.

We’ve gone from October 21 almost monthly to now and no reason given, we just believe it to be chip shortages but surely more specific information will be there and should be communicated to our dealers. They are in the same position as us but at least they are updating us. Not good really for either of us

So if it happens that's an 8 month delay on delivery alone. In which case I might get mine for Christmas! Rapido can't even tell the dealer the build date for the base vehicle from Fiat! I would have thought the coachbuilders need that in order to plan their production lines! Thanks for the info. and fingers crossed it happens. (y) At least you have a date, all I have is October possibly!!!

Yes but I’ve had dates for the following months dash300 Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, March, April, May and now June. They are meaningless!

The van was ordered by the dealer, I think in Feb 21 as it was a 22 model, then I specked it and paid deposit end of April 21 for October delivery with the first 22 year models. All dealers were told that and the rest is now history.

Yes we all know there are problems but that is a generic reason, surely they could put some meat on the bone and increase their customer satisfaction by 100% rather than leaving the likes of me with no confidence in my manufacturer

I agree that number of monthly failed delivery dates is quite ridiculous. If Adria are giving these spurious dates they should be ashamed of themselves and the Dealer should be ashamed of being an Adria dealer quite honestly. I have written off the van for this year and made other plans.

Update.
We were advised just over two weeks ago the build of our van would be completed on 18th March for delivery the following week (this week) now Friday no mention the van has indeed been built and of course the van is not at the dealers for collection.
How surprised am i....................
So who knows.

With all the dissinformation about delivery dates it would be easier dealing with the FSB!!!

I guess if the manufacturer who is making something is held up because it needs a tickle bush , but they buy them in from somewhere else, they can’t make the bush because it needs a swivel nut that they buy in from somewhere else and on it goes. Just in time delivery is great on paper. I guess they can not buy the items elsewhere as under contract or cannot get credit etc, plus nobody holds stock anymore because accountants said it was bad and a waste of money. Perfect storm

I agree, and not forgetting sproggle brackets! So knowing there are component shortages why does the manufacturer give delivery dates to dealers it knows it cannot meet. I have a suspicion RHD vehicles are being given lower production line priority and those that are rolling off the production are being diverted to delivery companies first as that is the biggest market.

I spoke to Highbridge last week as we are waiting for our new Hymer Exsis (originally due Feb/March & now Hymer portal stating May/June ). They said they are getting some new vans (various models) coming in at the rate of about 6 a week atm. I also have an eye on the second hand market as our deposit is refundable but nothing coming up under 6.5m in good condition. We can only wait:confused:
