Slide and slam the curse of PVCs

They are Motorhomes
So are PVC's many if not all will have will have all the comfort of what you are perceiving to be a Motorhome, some may have much more, which is why some downsize to a PVC that can fit into a parking space or on the drive or roadway at home.

My Globecar has soft close and is nice and quiet.
The T5 I had before it had electric powered doors that were virtually silent, the beeping alarm that sounded whenever you used the electric door was really noisy though!
Best we don't join the C&MC, we have kids, a dog, a whoosh bang, BBQ, stay up late and also get up early.
I feel I should apologise to very camper all over Europe for the annoyance we have caused while on holiday enjoying ourselves

If the door and the latch are set up correctly they can be closed relatively quietly.
Why don't you guy get your flipping doors sorted then you won't keep pissing people off.

Sorry for the rant but fed up with PVC door slammers who are inconsiderate to others around them.
Worst of the lot is white van man with a mattress in the back who's had a few beers.
We had a VW type two 1971 vintage along with a couple of friends. One of the friends hurtled his door shut making a horrendous noise till I showed him how I shut mine. Slide it slowly and quietly and press on the back of the door and it clicks shut, inside I put a handle so I could do the same, pull it slowly and quietly and click the catch.
If the locking catch is at the rear of the opening that’s the way to do it, no need whatsoever to slam it.

OK folks now if people find sliding doors annoying what about the Dogs?

My suggestion is for the owners who inflict such animals on others is Canine Cordectomy.

But actually the better approach is, its temporary, it really doesn't matter just like sliding PVC doors which happen with less frequency than a Barking dog and are much less of an intrusion.

So the message here I think is acceptance and the temporary nature of any intrusion, be kind be nice.

Spoil sport ;)

There are so many snobbish, intolerant, divisive and grumpy attitudes exhibited here. I bought my motorhome (sorry, whooshbang) and subscribe to MotorhomeFun for just that. Fun while motorhoming. Why do people get so wound up while supposedly relaxing? Can't they just tolerate the existence of others?
Only two things annoy me ,,its someone constantly bouncing a ball,,and little dogs constantly yap yap yapping...No need whatsoever for either.BUSBY.

It's almost as annoying as A/C class motorhomes which seem to have about a hundred lockers which need looking into and the doors slamming constantly through the day and night.

The "garage" should be renamed the "pantry" given the amount of beer and foodstuffs which have to be constantly fetched. Maybe they don't have any inside storage lockers??

Live and let live!

Our N&B Arto 'A' Class has only 3 lockers - garage on gas-struts, gas locker whch lowers easily and the cassette locker which just clicks shut. Hab door can be closed by just a pull as the last movement, so no slamming for any of them. No cab doors.

I have been using the colder months to perfect my campsite etiquette .
First practising my whoosh bang technique-------

Then fine tuning my barbecue skills-------

and finally making sure fido is in fine voice -------

Looking forward to making lots of new friends :imoutahere:

I have read all this thread to get a perspective on my soon to be new PVC owner life. I was well aware of some peoples methods of closing their doors and the views of those who did not like it, so felt it was important to me.

I hate the noises at home and when camping , particularly during bed time, as I cant sleep through them, but life is what it is. I have for the past 9 years done something about it myself rather than expect others to be less noisy.

I recall my coach built before, with a garage, was noisy to close the doors, so much so I used to take extra special measures to close them quietly, particularly first thing in a morning and late at night. It took a lot of effort and longer to do than just shutting them but it was possible. I don’t recall ever witnessing others taking any similar care. So I suppose what I am saying is it’s more about the individual rather than the vehicle.

I chose, and handsomely paid I might add, for an electrically assisted soft close door on my new van and understand it is whisper quite, I did so for the benefit of others really and my wife as I get up earlier than her whilst trying to avoid, if possible, the attitude towards us that some clearly feel from reading this thread.

I am shocked really at some of the comments in this thread on this forum
