Slide and slam the curse of PVCs

It's not so much the noise the door makes, what I can't understand is why PVC owners have to go in and out of their van slamming the door every 15 min until the early hours of the morning, you don't get people in normal Motorhomes doing that.
Maybe but there always exceptions.
in Eire next to massive french A class.
every time time wife went in or out husband rushed to huge garage door to get vacuum cleaner and did the door step. back to garage to store cleaner.
we were sat outside so it kept us mildly amused for a while until we had the giggles when the wife walked by and gave us a huge wink.
bet they had a fun trip

We are normal people in normal motorhomes which are based on a panel van, we use them no differently to people who own either coachbuilt or an A class.

not a very nice thing to say
Hi.
Know what you mean, thank goodness our van with a mattress " Slung " in the back is........ Blue...RELIEF !! ;)
Tea Bag

I love slamming my PVC door really hard. I do it on purpose as often as I can because I love annoying my fellow motorhomers.

Not true obviously but I suppose occasionally I have been tempted when we’ve been kept awake by inconsiderate drunken folk until 1 or 2 am when the site/rally rules have requested quiet after 11 or midnight to slam the door loudly when we go out walking first thing. I don’t as it would be far too childish of me.

Getting in and out of a PVC via the driver or passenger door isn't possible once the external silver screen is put on. If you have a fixed rear bed that leaves the sliding door as the only means available.

After 10 pm we stay shut in, so no more woosh - slam. It's different for the smaller campervans with no toilet compartment, obviously. Their occupants may need to go out to the toilet block during the night.

I am quite happy if the adjacent pitches are left empty. Coachbuilts can be noisy too. Anyhow, you have a choice to be closer to, or further from our PVC ... ;)

On the rare occasion I find myself parked with anyone (a situation I like to avoid) I climb over my bench seat and through the sliding door into the drivers cab. That way I can enter or exit via the dirvers door. Much quieter. Simples.
We also when parked close to others (not very often) if late at night would use the passenger door for leaving/entering the van, we dont use external screens. We also have a "portapotty" so leaving van during the night never happens. Having said that, here in Spain the Spanish do whatever they like..........

Yes you do...........

Woosh bang doors, dogs, children, early morning converations outside your van, next door neighbour scrunching up and down gravel, car doors (tuggers) and van cab doors (mohos) slam slam slam. Silent running genny's, overnight heaters... OMG maybe you ain't cut out for our lifestyle and should stick to hotels.
We ALL do something that will annoy someone else... Ignore them and get on enjoying our great past time.👍👍👍
Hotels, noisy groups of people in corridors, loud tvs in the room next door, people who use loo in middle of night and flush both starting the bathroom fan and water running through the pipes. Not to mention some coupling that cab get vocal.
And then builders vans in the car park, people smoking below your window or near the entrance doors .just a few issues that need to be overcome ;)

Yes indeed.... thats why i dont use them and why I am prepared to ignore noisy poeple on camp sites / rally fields.
Lesser of two evils.

Electic soft close assistance works very well, eliminates the woosh bang.

Ally.

And then to cap it all someone has the audacity to park a pvc , whoosh bang in the car park and book a room , no getting away from them :whistle2:

At last we're away again in our mh. Staying overnight on a small pub site with good amenities. However my peaceful reading of Fun this morning has been ruined by the continual "slide/slam" from the three PVCs parked nearby. I mean how many times do you need to get in and out of a van? It's one of the design failures that sellers never talk about, door open, heat out, flies in etc. I know there are some electric closers but few fitted. Maybe they'll all move on today!

Maybe the answer is that ALL coach-build's should park on C&MC sites and leave the pub sites for the PVC's

Last year I spent 2 nights sleeping in my awning at a Fun rally, believe me they do! True it is slightly quieter but, even coachbuilt doors are so non rigid they have to be closed hard to lock and don't get me started on some dog owners!

Yes it came as a surprise to me too, try it sometime!

It's almost as annoying as A/C class motorhomes which seem to have about a hundred lockers which need looking into and the doors slamming constantly through the day and night.

The "garage" should be renamed the "pantry" given the amount of beer and foodstuffs which have to be constantly fetched. Maybe they don't have any inside storage lockers??

Live and let live!
We do but the multiplicity of outside storage lockers means we forget where stuff is stored and have to look in all of them. It's an age thing.;)

Well I don’t go in and out of my van every 15 minutes.

“What I can’t understand is why *some* PVC owners etc.”. There, fixed it for you 😀

Our car has sliding whoosh bang doors at the back. I try to avoid getting things out of the car after dark in case I disturb the neighbours!
