Slide and slam the curse of PVCs

How about a "whoosh bang" rally ? Those of us of the whoosh bang persuasion could have lots of fun with competitions as to who could open and close the door the most in a given time, who's diesel heating is the loudest etc :rofl::rofl: . Come on guys lighten up,
Thats a good idea you could even have your own campsites(if you are users)

Really, have you seen the price of a IH or Autosleeper, more money than your standard coachbuilt. Try again.
Have you not noticed the the name of the most prestigious club a is now called Caravan and Motorhome Club.
No mention what so-ever about panel vans

This is what I can't understand. Most users of PVCs know that their sliding door is noisy and can wake people up. So why do they not use one of the cab doors at night, which would alleviate the problem. Yes it may be a little more inconvenient, but surely just twisting one of the swivel seats a bit to get out and in is no real hardship?
ooh...where to start!...... just a thought, but maybe PVC owners prefer to use the purpose made door to get in and out of their van, rather than attempt some impromptu 'it's a knockout' kind of manoeuvre in the middle of the night? Of course, swivelling a cab seat and exiting via a cab door is going to be completely silent, isn't it? NOT!! Are you for real?

Ok whos organising the door banging rally? Any takers
A group within a group.
Campervan, motorhome snobbery at its best .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It needs a proper name....The Great Slam Drunk Rally? (as clearly ALL PVC owners get pissed, and then habitually open and close their doors every 15 minutes, specifically to annoy Hymer/A class/whatever owners....)

I wonder if Hymers (German built) come with lifetime membership of the Nazi Party?

Well, if you feel that strongly about it, perhaps you'd like to offer to set everyone's door closing mechanism up correctly for them, or pay for them to get it done? Amazing unwarranted outburst...as has been explained, (but obviously not to you,) the only way to get the door to latch correctly is to give it a good slam, regrettable as that might be, that is the fact of the matter, pure and simple.
Tarring all PVC owners with the same brush is disingenuous, to say the least - maybe all Hymer owners are knob heads, who knows?

Oh dear, are we having a bad hair day?

Hotels are even worse in my opinion the constant slamming of room doors half the bloody floor sometimes, in bang out bang there really is no excuse for not closing a hotel door quietly, yet still they do it. Most campsites are quite in comparison
yeah and lots of hotels Ive been in have the dorr closers set so tight the slam, slam, slam, not just the bedrooms the corriders aswell.
So when someone is leaving for an early flight i have to wake up to ....thanks B****S

I thought things were bad in the world of VW clubs, with their snobby attitude to certain van models.
But this takes it to a whole new level .
Come on, get a life then get a grip ( hopefully not of your door handle)

I have a pvc and agree that the whoosh bang is annoying, for the 0.5 of a second that it takes. But since we are on annoying things how about stinking rancid BBQs that affect neighbours for hours. Smile.
What about PVCs with whoosh bang doors and stinking barbecues? Might as well mention SOGs as well. :(

If the door and the latch are set up correctly they can be closed relatively quietly.
Why don't you guy get your flipping doors sorted then you won't keep pissing people off.

Sorry for the rant but fed up with PVC door slammers who are inconsiderate to others around them.
Worst of the lot is white van man with a mattress in the back who's had a few beers.

It's not so much the noise the door makes, what I can't understand is why PVC owners have to go in and out of their van slamming the door every 15 min until the early hours of the morning, you don't get people in normal Motorhomes doing that.

Ahem! ;)

They are in out every 5 mins as they are to narrow to pass each other perhaps or claustrophobic.

Looking forward to a nice peaceful summer this year and thinking of all though slamming doors. Haha. A lot of pluses for a house.

bet they had a fun trip
Where can I find this man? 🤣

There are so many snobbish, intolerant, divisive and grumpy attitudes exhibited here. I bought my motorhome (sorry, whooshbang) and subscribe to MotorhomeFun for just that. Fun while motorhoming. Why do people get so wound up while supposedly relaxing? Can't they just tolerate the existence of others?
