Not cold or damp today ...its t shirt weather and blue skies . I've been lucky . I've not seen any rain yet

Took the scooter out to go see the bridge at cahors ...jees that was an experience lol. I've only had one previous shot since I bought it and the gears takes a bit getting used to lol ...I need to practice riding it a bit more. Preferably somewhere quiet šŸ¤£

Haven't went in to see the rest of cahors yet . I might do In morning but from Just smiffy photos it don't look too interesting. Or he's a crap photographer lol.

Put the drone up for a few bridge shots . Met this massive big dog who was a right softy . The pics don't do him justice but he was like a pony ...a Russian terrier apparently.

There's an autobreakers on route leaving here tomorrow I think I'll pop in see if they have any mk3 ivecos

Aye ill be doing that from tomorrow, I'm getting too old for this narrow roads full of holes and rough bits , overhanging trees and the odd driver going like the clappers. Flipping thing is set on fastest route but its all speedbumps and 30kph limits its taking me through. Thing has a Mind of its own.

Having done a 10k circle because of a route barrĆ© sign only to get to the destination to find another route barrĆ© sans from the opposite direction Iā€™m tempted to just ignore now!!

Beautiful photos of Sarlat by the way - must be 20 years since I was there - Sam was 3 months old ā€¦

Iā€™ve learned that in Germany if you come across an Umleitung carry on until you physically cannot go any furtheršŸ‘

So have I on one occasion, other times Iā€™ve followed the diversion and come back to where I started only to see cars still coming in the opposite direction, so I carried on through the sign and got through to where I was headingšŸ‘

We did that and were then directed by workman through a vineyard that ran parallel to the road which was fine until we met a milk tanker coming the other way.

Nightmare far worse than the French. Followed one diversion ended up on a very narrow country lane not much wider than the van. Manage to find somewhere to turn round got back to near where I started and found it was a one way road, so I just went up it the wrong way.

If Iā€™m on the bikešŸļø, I always ignore road closed signs and take my chances. Iā€™d say that I have a 50/50 success rate.šŸ˜Ž

I then set off for cahors , scenic route again through some small villages , crap roads too. I'm gonna start just ignoring that satnav and following road signs I think as it's useless in France. Brought me in the wrong way to cahors too and tried to take me through a 2.1m wide gap despite the dimensions being loaded .

Made what should have been an easy hour or so drive in to a stressful 2.5 hour drive.

Sorry Tam, but it has to be something to do with your settings, as I am using exactly the same maps, which keeps us on the main routes, only using minor routes where there are no other routes available. I do not experience the problems you are having with Truck Maps, and neither is anyone else who asked me to update their maps for them. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Pop your SD card into a laptop, go into the content folder, then maps folder, and check for 6 x files for France, one of which should be .ftr for Truck. If that file is there, then it's down to your settings. A screenshot of all the France files would be handy.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Don't think so, he puts in my address and it takes him 10 miles past then turns him round to come back, it's done it a few times.

I don't have a laptop .

It's currently on car motorhome, with dimensions entered , and 3.49 tonne . Fastest route , can't do anything else with it.

If i put it on truck motorhome it takes me miles out the way to avoid truck restrictions.

Aye that one is ridiculous. Last time I tried putting in the street round corner from you to see if that helped but made no difference. If coming to yours from the west it wants to take me to lewes then Brighton out to sea and back over a field to your back garden lol.

I did have a screenshot of it but deleted it after I'd shown it to you

I must admit Lenny, mine brought me straight to you, however the detour going back to port Solent was a nightmare if you rememberšŸ‘

What types of roads have you chosen in settings, ie Motorways, Other routes, Minor routes?
I'm not in a position to send anymore images by PM right now, of the relevant screens you need to check. :(

I definitely think so Lenny, as in the numerous years of using these maps, they've never taken me out my way like that. I will admit that setting the unit up correctly as a bit of a learning curve. It's either the unit, or the settings, but definitely not the maps, otherwise I'd be experiencing the same problems..............but never have.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Yeah but ... you've sabotaged it in the hope that he'll get permanently lost somewhere en route!

I think you have the same sat nav as ours. We donā€™t use truck settings either. Tried once & never again!
You may have chosen ā€œfastestā€ route on settings. Doing this on ours & it sends us on ā€œshort cutsā€ off the main road we are on, through the little roads/town & re-joins the main road.
I think it sees fastest as ā€œas the crow fliesā€
Not as the road goes.
