Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

I’ve heard that too but struggle to understand why it would work and, when the subject has been discussed in the past, nobody has been able to present a sound argument why it would work.

I’m not arguing that it doesn’t work but struggle to understand why it might work. Happy to hear any reasoning but I’ll start a new thread rather than divert this one. 👍

Ian
I googled it earlier and seems to be a thing folk do with bikes , gravity bleeding or summit .

It works on motorbikes, I done it in the past to squeeze last drop of air out, by putting a cable tie on the brake lever and handle bar. Puts the system on extreme hydraulic pressure squeezing the air up.
On motorbikes works as you got separate brakes and the front callipers are right below the reservoir.
Worth a try.

Unplug the rear loom or take the bulbs out. But make sure you remember to reinstate in the morning.
I'm keen but not that keen lol.

There's a high level led brake light

Going by our 3 litre Flair I would have thought about 20 as well, just under 19 is about what we get out of the Palace at about 7000kg.
On a good day Martin certainly, if not having to overtake middle lane hogging numpties. ;)

thinking about it though in the Flair we used to get 22ish and 19 was about the lowest, I think close to 25 was the best.
I'm not a heavy footed driver, and whilst I do achieve better MPG figures when driving abroad, I have never got to 22 - 25 to the gallon. :whatthe:
I did with the 2.8TDi Fiat Hymer though.
We are plated at 6850Kgs, but invariably running at 5850Kgs.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Maybe it’s my memory failing me again, I know there was a big difference between say 52mph and 62mph which doesn’t seem to apply to the Palace with its higher gearing.

Probably why I am getting better MPG when abroad when in touring mode off the Autoroutes/Autobahns, ie, 80Kph.

I don't feel comfortable doing 80Kph here on the UK motorways, ie, I see it as risky with the amount of haulage on the road. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I've been paying 1.55 in Vendée area.
Fascinating how much dearer it is in France & UK?
Average here is 1,27€ today but a few weeks back we were down to 1,08€ .
@1,27€ that is 62c less than Tam has just paid & is getting on for 50€ more in France for 80l than in spain?
Probably why I run through France without filling unless it is dearer than the UK.

Had a walk in to and around the old town of Sarlat , decided just to take dogs in with me rather than the scooter. It wasn't very busy thankfully but a lot of other people with dogs. But sensible and only one each.

Lovely sunny day , I was melting by the time I got back to the van .

I then set off for cahors , scenic route again through some small villages , crap roads too. I'm gonna start just ignoring that satnav and following road signs I think as it's useless in France. Brought me in the wrong way to cahors too and tried to take me through a 2.1m wide gap despite the dimensions being loaded .

Made what should have been an easy hour or so drive in to a stressful 2.5 hour drive.
