Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

I get around 20 mpg on my three litre Iveco… pulling 7.1-7.2T… I’m quite a bit more aerodynamic than you flat faced A class though! 🤣

Brakes - I’m assuming you used a new bottle of DOT4 when you did the fluid, not some stuff you’d been carrying around part used for a few years in the old MoHo?

The starting point with any spongy brakes, is a re bleed… ✔️
I didn't do it a garage in Wales did it. Brakes were fine since , had the fluid completely renewed . Not like I've been overheating the brakes as not got to the real hilly areas yet . Flipping fed up with brakes .. doing my head in now

Look at the number of spaces he's taking up!
Still I suppose it's his country.
I can't talk as I'm parked across 4 spaces myself. It's a dedicated motorhome parking area but the spaces are all normal car sized. But only 4 of us here and loads of space.

I'm surprised he picked the bit under the trees to park though . Got satellite dish up too ... usually the telly addicts avoid the trees .

Makes my van look a tiddler though .

But yours looks better loved and doesn’t have a blinking big crack coming across the middle of the rear panel or one in the top to the right of the dealers sticker.
Blinking battered, but then again some people cannot drive large things

Looks like you are at the Carrfour, great spot for visiting the town & the fuel is quite cheap. 🤣
I am yeah , I did look at another carpark nearer the city but satnav taking me funny routes again so opted for here. I've not decided yet whether I'll walk in with the dogs or whether I'll leave them In the van and take the scooter in.

Need to start using the thing or no point having it. Will need it for carcassonne anyway as it looks an arsehole to park in .

In our 5300Kg Dethleffs (2.8jtd, so a bit older) we used to get 20 - 22 mpg.

We seem to be getting an average of just under 20 on our van (3 litre, 170bhp) not weighed it but GVW of 7000Kg. That’s travelling at around 53mph on the motorway (with some variation to accommodate HGVs).

Ian
We travel faster now as dictated by 8th gear being muncher higher than 6th used to be, thinking about it though in the Flair we used to get 22ish and 19 was about the lowest, I think close to 25 was the best.

Are you confident bleeding the brakes yourself? I would do them again..

Are you sure they did the brake fluid?

Find a friendly Motorhomer to assist you pumping the brakes whilst you crack the nips… 👍🏻

It's only a 15 min walk, you don't need to go down the main road there is a nice quiert small road to the east of the main road.

Doesn't the fuel pick up height remain constant or do you mean the smaller amount of fuel is prone to more agitation?
Yes. One of my cars always used to hiccough if the fuel got to less than 1/8 of a tank.

Carcassonne no problem parking , large motorhome park about 50 yards from main entry, not free mind.

If still at Sarlat Josaphine Bakers(banana skirt dance) chateau not far away

Has been fine since . I put a shot of miller's fuel additive in again just incase but I'm not entirely sure it was fuel related. Might just have been a coincidence. It wasn't fuel that caused that light to come on before, we reckon it was turbo hose or wastegate last time .

Hopefully a one off .

The spongy brakes are another issue , Flipping brakes are the bane of my life it would seem
just wondering Tam but is it worth checking the injector wiring connections cause that was another fiat NON recall, that should have been. Too tight ,used to get pulled with engine vibration. damp could get in, corrosion could set up.worth pulling off cleaning & spraying with contact cleaner if you have any.
My mate got caught with this & developed a misfire - They changed all 4 injector connectors with longer ones on his 2008 & when I googled it this had been going on ,same fault since the 90's. Fiat, Peugeot & Citroën of that era all had same fault.

This is an iveco Richard, doesn't have the same injector cables as the fiat.

Aye whatever.

You've quoted no facts .

There is a building there being rebuilt . I saw it ,I photographed it. The materials are not original.

There are at least 3 cars placed on bricks , they didn't simply stop there and burnt there as is claimed.

I said the survivors were speculating about the events leading up to the event because they couldn't possibly know.

They had no idea what was happening

You decided to quote me saying they were speculating and answer "Aye ok"

Here's another one

These signs on that building are not original View attachment 976433

If you wish to believe they are then it's absolutely pointless carrying on this conversation .

Believe what you like , defend what you like 🤷‍♂️ I dinnae really care.
Quite agree Tam glad to see your photos didn't have sewing machines in them, it was like they found something that didn't rust away and dumped them everywhere. 🙄
But glad we went and only need one visit, the most moving place we visited was Ravensbrück Concentration Camp, there was school trip coaches and I've never seen so many children crying and wouldn't go in and just sat round the lake. 🤔 Bob.

I've been paying 1.55 in Vendée area.
Aye most I've seen have been between €1.58 and €1.70

Just unlucky where I stopped last night there wasn't a station between there and motorway.

Next fillup should be near Spain I think

Try what I said on the phone Tam, a length of wood or similar to jam the brake pedal down for the night, I’ve tried that a few times and it’s worked for me… maybe a few others here have heard that too and tried it…. Nothing to lose..🤔

I’ve heard that too but struggle to understand why it would work and, when the subject has been discussed in the past, nobody has been able to present a sound argument why it would work.

I’m not arguing that it doesn’t work but struggle to understand why it might work. Happy to hear any reasoning but I’ll start a new thread rather than divert this one. 👍
