Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

We don’t use truck settings either. Tried once & never again!
I use Truck settings everywhere I go and have done for years, reducing the weight to 3.49T for France, Switzerland, and Austria, keeping us on suitable roads for the size of vehicle. I use the Fastest or Easy Route, (both much the same), but never the Shortest Route, and have been doing this with large vehicles, (including HGV Class 1), for nion 10 x years now.
Some poo poo the Nozatec and XGODY Chinese Sat Navs, but I've got nothing but praise for them, because once set up properly with the latest maps and .ftr files, they just do the business without any fuss. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Diversions can be a pain. Last year I was heading for an aire at Chateau-Larcher and came across a 'road closed' and diversion sign. Followed it in a big loop back to the same sign. Ignored it second time and the closure was a hundred metres away from the aire off the road into the village.

Yep xgoody for us too. Good kit but find using dimensions setting it makes routes much longer.

Mine is an xgody too. It can be temperamental and has led me a merry dance quite a few times ....but its got me where I wanted to go more times than it hasn't and cost less than £40 4years ago so can't complain overall. Its worse in some countries more than others. I always have problems with France and I've used a few different navigation systems .

It just tried to bring me under a 2.5m bridge yet again

It knows you don't like France, it's making sure you don't come back.

I definitely think so Lenny, as in the numerous years of using these maps, they've never taken me out my way like that. I will admit that setting the unit up correctly as a bit of a learning curve. It's either the unit, or the settings, but definitely not the maps, otherwise I'd be experiencing the same problems..............but never have.

Or a bloody good memory
Driving as a solo traveller it's always a bit more hassle if you get a diversion etc. If you've a passenger they can quickly check for a detour . I can't do that whilst driving and unless there's somewhere to pull in which often there isn't for miles it can be a right ballache

👍 Wow, impressive drone. I've just ordered a dji mini pro 3.
It's an old one , first model... probably 6/7 years old now. Still works OK most of the time lol

That's not his new MH, a neighbours. His previous Hymer is outside his home. A Swift outside another neighbours ;) The date on SV is May 2023.

Not looked at any restrictions but sure Lenny will advise any low bridge narrow bits

Now if that was mine it would continue along the a27 past Brighton then back to the coast and out to sea ... it then brings me in like I was a sea plane and over the field behind lennys House.

Even as I turn in to his street it is still quoting 57minutes and telling me to turn around where possible .

Lol, the settings must be off or the map files are corrupt.
Thats one mapping app I use, its free and dont use data, mapfactor navigator. Its a big file for the maps though

Something not right with it that's for sure.

Fortunately I know my way there so I just head for worthing then along coast now .

My free spot in carcassonne, they are few and far between but this wee hideyhole is just 200metres past the €20 a day aire that has no services . 10 minutes walk to the city .

I have hansel and greta from Sweden for company lol
