Bloody dogs

Errrrrrr ... that's not the way I read you post #105 ...

You dunna want to be unable to post about your adventures do you? I don't think some funsters could live without your daily offerings! 😄
🤔

Yes but why should we.

If you dont like noise stay in your house with earplugs in .

The world is noisy ...it always will be
No. The world is not necessarily noisy as you suggest. There is a natural pleasurable wildelife background noise as distinct from human uncontroled noise. I appreciate you have chosen a lifestyle on the road but a come one come all acceptance irrespective of behaviour whilst dreamy does have it's limits and must have boundaries surely for those seeking some alternative environment away from home.
I don't need ear plugs at home and don't think people should need them when on vacation.

There is currently a natural, very, unpleasant wildlife background full on screeching noise from the owls in the beech trees outside the bedroom window. Every flipping year, sleepless nights, waking up to what sounds like a murder occurring. We could do with earplugs, and agree with the "acceptance irrespective of behaviour.....does have it's limits and must have boundaries". Can I shoot em?
I wouldn't and accept their racket as any sound human does/ would.
"apply the above to a dog/ child / cat/ pig/ sheep/ or even perhaps an adult having a glass of wine outdoors"
The world IS noisy. EVERYWHERE, with natural noise, not manmade. Have you heard how LOUD swallows are?

I haven’t read the whole thread but I believe fur baby yapping machines should be used to stoke the bbq 😃
agree and support the practices in Yulin? The 'fur baby yapping machines' are deep fried alive.

I like dogs don't mind PVC's, it's the poxy owners who can't control them I hate.

The PVC owners are the worst, its perfectly possible to close a sliding door with little noise so why do 90% of them insist on slamming as loud as they can.
I also don't understand why after I have gone to bed at 11/11:30 fifteen minutes later they have to start slamming their door every 15 minutes for the next two hours. And then they start slamming it again at some ungodly hour of 7 or 8 am and waking me up.

Not all dogs are the same. Not all dog owners are the same either. I have a dog. He hardly ever barks, unless there’s a good reason for it. He is always on a short lead to heel around people. We would never take him out on a kids play area and he wouldn’t poo their anyway, he goes off the path into brambles to poop! We feed him raw food and it means his poops are tiny for his size and drier and so I can easily pick up every last bit. Across the road their 3 dogs are always barking/whining/howling. That is annoying, as is when some owners let their dog poo on the footpath and then don’t pick it up.

I don't have a cat but wierdly I have cat sh*t in my garden.
Cats are territorial and keep other cats away, but like to shit off their territory. We get cats shitting in our garden and don't use those sonic repellents because they would upset the dogs. We have some metal cat cutout things with glass eyeballs but they don't work.
I don't dislike cars by the way, just some of their habits. I wouldn't have one though.

What's funny about my shorts other than my boll€_/s seems to have exited stage right?

Can anyone identify Dora's breeding?
Border collie x something? idk how big is she?

And I bet they said "my dog does not do that". I was a trustee of a country park. Not Council owned and a charity. Dog owners we the biggest problem we had. The country park had a big mere in the middle owned by an angling club. Multiple signs said keep you dog on a lead and do not let them in the water. Come summer a blue algae would grow in the water. The dog owners would take to social media and whip up a stink which gathers enough pace for the local radio to get interested. What are you doing about the algea? It is killing dogs. When you point out that there are multiple signs saying dogs to be kept on lead and should not be let 8nto the water the radio then says the trustees should enforce it.

All this for bloody dogs.
It’s amazing how so many people choose to be blind or unable to read when convenient. Like the no smoking areas. That’s another thread starter 🤣
Dogs can be trained to do anything. If they have the right considerate owner.

Stopped going to the Warners shows because of inconsiderate dog owners. Saw a youngsters feet took from under her after a lead wrapped round her legs from someone with a dog on a 20ft lead who was oblivious to where the dog was as there were about 8 dog owners all stood talking blocking the road most with their dog prams in tow. Also wont eat in a pub or restaurant where they allow dogs while you are eating.
Strange, we won't eat in a pub that doesn't welcome dogs.

Our cat shits in our garden the bugger.

If like us with a PVC we want to close the door once in the evening so yes you will hear a woosh and a bang buy only once as we want to ensure it’s not multiple opening and closing.

I was thinking about your dilemma and was going to suggest earplugs but that may be unkind. If it was me I think my choices are either increase insulation (soundproofing) or maybe invest in a MoHo that provides better acoustic soundproofing as standard ;)

I have never seen and heard so many dogs about, I think it got worse over lockdown.

How can people afford the vet bills ? A neighbour told me they had spent £10k on cancer treatment for their pooch and a friend buys heart tablets for thier dog which they purchase in Europe as it’s cheaper.

Why do people need Dogs? an animal (yes it is an animal not a a fur baby) that is so dependant on humans to look after it.

That is my argument entirely, all though I said different at the start that was partly tounge in cheek, I don't mind any sort of noise on a campsite and can put up with most as when I'm asleep iv gone.
It's just dogs I can't do with, what is the point of them, cost a fortune just to have everywhere contaminated with the things, and people who think you want to meet their foo foo can just foo foo off with them.

Why can’t their doggie be on a lead until at an exercise area?
Loose doggies that they have catch up with, then faff around regathering to let cyclists, etc. go by safely are a pain 👀👍🏻

Edit: sorry, that lead item is off topic and has its own thread…

Except they actually don't 😁
Come on, what’s not to love. No yapping, no walking, great company, poop in someone else’s garden, but buried and great travel companions, the list goes on :roflmto::hi:

Problem is people let their dogs run free as nature intended, problem is for wildlife (ground nesting birds etc) plus the number of times we have been sitting having lunch by a river or beach and it seems owners find it’s ok for their pooch to come up to us slobbering and wanting a bite of the sandwich…….

Just out of interest, how do the dog owners on here respond if someone comes up and complains about their ‘perceived’ yapping / barking dog?

I know it’s all relative and I would imagine some dog owners would be in the camp of ‘he’s not being annoying, he’s just enjoying himself’ if it’s either a yappy barky little thing or a well behaved strong but silent wolfy…

And I know if I were to raise the issue, I’d try and be as nice about it as possible But some people I imagine would just explode with a ‘shut that f*****g thing up’?

has anyone had that instance when fido, normally well behaved and angelic is having an off day and is being, well… an absolute bitch and someone has complained to you?

not wanting to troll but I’m genuinely interested! Experiences at some sites has quite often resulted in me just getting a stubbie out of the fridge, making myself comfortable and getting a bit of free entertainment!
