Bloody dogs

I've got a well insulated van it's the idiots who park 3 ft from me then start slamming there door at midnight & first thing in the morning I can't stand.

Perhaps PVC's should have a timed lock on the sliding door so it can't be opened between 8pm & 9am.
Ah if you park in a CAMC site you would have a little more distance ;) and less noise

I don’t think how strongly felt opinions are, nor how they are expressed really matters other than it’s done in a civil and inoffensive way. As per rule one.

Healthy debate is good.
It’s good to discuss things (inoffensively of course).

Fora have those lovely properties of going off tangent, seeing others viewpoints and discussing things with people‘s viewpoints that may not match your own. Also allowing you to question your own ’normal’ responses to situations. Great mirrors! My God, it’d be boring if we all agreed with everything…

Where are these cults? Is it like the Moonies, must be a secret iv never been let in on.
All I find are people expressing their opinions, some you agree with , some you don't but that doesn't make it cult.
If you have a different opinion say so, don't just ignore it and say it's a cult.

That is also true but it was when the kids were at school and can't remember any dogs either, but it was a one off as we couldn't get to France.
But saying all this we have been going to haven probably 50 years now and love it and the special offers make it possible to put up with any of the things you mentioned apart from dogs.
Just can't do with folks bringing them to you and expect you to fawn over the dirty smelly snot laden curs.
Now now do t be putting yourself down like that, I wouldn’t think your a dirty snot laden smelly cur, but then again I haven’t met you.

Totally agree, we got motorhome so to take my dogs with us. But arrive on site and your surrounded by snotty people thinking they are better than you. But ive a motorhome aswell and dogs so if they bark up yours.

As for kids ..bad parents
And don't forget

Bad retired ....usually who's wife don't let them get a word in so they come on here to whine.

same as above ,i have always had 2 gsd's i consider myself a good owner if any dog is a problem its kept on the lead , now if anyone has a problem with my dogs i exspect them to say so as i do to others , if nothing is said i believe there is not a problem , i also hate owners that let there dogs mess and walk away , this is the problem with many they dont say anything

So true. I just speak my mind and my misses says leave it weve come away for chillout time, but some people just up so tight make everything an issue. Lifes to short as i know only to well.

You appear to be getting a bit up tight, just take your own advice and chill a bit. ;) :giggle:

it adds flavour just another herb :giggle:

Sexist and sweeping generalisations all rolled into one.

It says a lot about you.

It does.

1) I'm single
2) I don't have a boss who doesn't let me speak
3) I don't whine about everything and everyone.

But I have met literally hundreds of motorhomers and caravanners to have formed a well bases opinion 👍

Kerry doesn't bark [she can but chooses not to]
Kerry isn't bothered about running up to strangers

Both our neighbours have dogs. On one side he has 4. We very very rarely hear them bark. All well trained and well exercised.
I am not a dog person. I think too many people have too many dogs that they are not prepared to train and look after properly. Big dogs need lots of exercise!
On a camp site I have no problem with the occasional bark, but I do with the constant yapping that stops me sitting outside. Made the mistake of visiting Clumber Park last year, mid week, not school holidays, but site was busy. Someone pitches up 2 pitches down from us, next to path to loo block. Dog yaps every time someone uses the path. That I consider anti social.
Visited a private site near Southwell that accepts dogs but says on its website that they must be well controlled and not bark all the time. Says if you can’t conform to that, look for another site. Quite a few dogs when we visited, all well behaved, just occasional bark. It can be done.
I really dislike those expanding leads. I can see their advantage, but too many owners don’t look what their dog is doing, like weeing on my pitch. They have also caused quite lot of accidents for cyclists.
No one should let a dog jump up at a stranger.

Healthy debate is indeed good. However an awful lot of strongly held opinions on this forum appear to be controlled by emotions rather than anything approaching logical arguments. It’s my biggest problem with the B vote. I’ve spoken to many people since, and have yet to hear a true reasoned argument that isn’t based on emotions.

Can I just say, I have nothing against anyone keeping dogs, my kids do, just as long as I don't have to have anything to do with them.
