Bloody dogs

In Spain early this year it was bliss. France had banned Brits entering so the only ones on the site were the long ferry people and some that come in December. Lovely. France dropped the travel ban, 3 days later the little dogs, yap, yap, yap. Big dogs are not a real problem. It's the little noisy rats on leads.

Because no one in Europe has a barky dog.

22 countries and I can testify there are barking dogs in all of them ...including France which is only good for a road through to Nice places

As I thought would happen. Dog owners defend by saying my dog does not do that and why let polluting tractors etc. The against (to which I am one) note the instants that annoy them. I hope this thread my make the dog owners aware they are pi***ng people off.

I was being ironic as I've owned quite a few vintage tractors over the years. My point being that one man's meat is another man's poison.

This is a motorhome forum & most of us enjoy the wilds of the great outdoors & therefor it might be safe to presume that many of our members will have dogs (yes, I do too) & enjoy walking them in the great outdoors.
I'm not massively fond of sites, I prefer wild camping, but I still don't want our dogs barking, there is no need for it.

Personally I'd find it bliss if I never had to hear a whining motorhomer complaining.

There's one miserable git here from Carlisle that's complained at every motorhome, camper and tent occupier here on a free wild spot .

I asked him if he was in the right hobby. But then again he is in an auto trail...I feel his pain

I don't own my dogs I just care for them.

That means allowing them to express themselves. Which they usually do when they spot idiots.


I don't trust people who don't like animals but I will always trust my dog when they don't like a person .

They have a far advanced instinct than a human at spotting assholes

Of course we'll defend ourselves when some people put us all in the same 'kennel'. There are good and bad dog owners.

And those who have no tolerance need to chill out ... dogs bark, some more than others, if you don't like it (I don't and have dogs) then let the offending dog owners know that the yapping is a nuisance instead of whinging about it.

Yes but what you need to appreciate is that your Spanish, German and French dogs have a far more acceptable tone than your common bit of ruff from Blighty!!

If youve been to Spain and never heard barking Spanish dogs everywhere you must be visiting a different Spain than we do?

I have 2 Spanish and one Greek dog

Can't say I've ever parked up my van in a lovely scenic spot, put my best shorts and vest on, got the chairs out of the boot, a chilled drink out of the fridge and fired up the Kindle only to have my entire day of peace ruined by a vintage tractor continually starting up whenever someone dared to walk past it, or even by a whoosh-bang opening and closing itself. Kids get rowdy and I don't appreciate that either. Guess I'm officially old and grumpy

I stopped caring about pissing people off a long time ago. It's quite liberating.

For some strange reason this forum seems to have an abnormally high number of miserable intolerant selfish morons that are definitely in the wrong lifestyle. If they don’t like what they find on campsites don’t use them. Stay at home and criticize the neighbors. Why do they expect other people to change their lifestyles to suit them? Personally I don’t like the way club cyclists use public roads, but I don’t advocate banning them. Educating them maybe, but until such timeI have a choice of stopping driving or learning to live with it.

Birds…..fine. Pigeons and especially collared doves need some serious sorting. Collared doves having a very boring Chinese water torture call over and over again and the wood pigeons constantly shagging just outside the bedroom window. OK, the latter might be tinged with jealousy…….
