ADRIA Twin 640SLB
Exp
Since 2012
Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Interested to know who your dealer is? similar situation here, ordered Adria Twin from Brownhills in October 21, delivery April 22, that became May, then August now October, but not hopeful. Also had engine and colour alterations applied to original order.

Highbridge are still having a drip of vans they ordered coming through but they all appear to be manuals which is consistant with other postings on the new auto box shortage. It would appear that the new auto box according to the Rapido Dreamer forum and backed up by the latest 'Which Motorhome' article is that the autobox can only be mated to a Fiat engine not the Peugeot vesrsion which might be an additional complication who really knows.
So still the wait continues for the Continent of Europe to return to work!

Excellent. They just need to through the switch to RHD! (y)
Saw a dealer with lots of vans when travelling from Brighton to Dover on Monday. No idea where it was though? The French dealers I'vepassed yesterdayandtoday still have vast amounts of new stock.

None of the UK dealers have anything like the stock they used to have on display. If the French have vast stocks that's bodes well.(y)

Highbridge had two freshly arrived Dreamers (Camper Van XL & Living Van) for sale last week and both with the auto gearbox. I tried to upload some pictures of them but it says"the uploaded file is too large" under each one.

According to the website the Living Van available is a 140 Manual not sure about the other one but if you have seen them in auto good news indeed.

The price sheet in the windscreen says it's a manual too but it is an automatic. Sorry to say but I'm not impressed with Highbridge on many aspects. It's a shame I can't upload the photos. If you send me your email address in a private message, I will try to email you all the pics.

It’s buggered. No one can give you an honest answer. Enjoy your price protection and know it’s going to come at some point!

Very greatful for that info. I have ordered through them and as I am not far away I might pop up there to check it out.
My order is substantially different in spec. Many thanks. I am still trying to work out how to send a PM on this site!!

I finally had the call from Lowdhams today, my Swift 874 has arrived in Nottingham and I guess I can't really complain in the current climate as it's only two months late and as they need it for a further two weeks preparation (I guess branding) I'll get to benefit from a 72 plate. Roll on the 5th September!

Update: I have just received an email saying that my order (Sonic) has been delayed a third time. I have been moved back to Feb. 2023, and the delay by Stellantis has been quoted. My order was accepted in October 2021! This means a 16 month wait, and even then there are no guarantees. Really not sure we can carry on like this. We do not currently have a van and time is ticking by 🙁 I am a pretty patient bloke, but we have a decision to make. Do we drop out of the loop and possibly end up with a van we won't get on with, and at an inflated price, or do we carry on waiting?
Well said- so much, if not all , of the excitement has completely gone hasnt it! Ordered ours July 21 to expect it March 22. Sold our other camper in anticipation- then told Sept 22, now March 23……

Just had a look at a new Pilote at the Malvern show, they can supply a new van with a citroen base in October but if you want a Ducato base its March April next year.
The citroen cab looks exactly the same, but not sure what the engine difference is. It was a euro 6.

I think if you want the new auto it has to be Fiat.

I paid more attention after someone said they have a lot of old stock but what I saw at dealers In Poitiers, Tours, Chattelarault , all appeared to be current models¿

Current models but a lot based on Mk7 Fiat chassis. Also quite a few Citroen bases which are quite basic ie No steering wheel controls No cruise No audio etc. Mk 8 are scarce. A few on Ford's though. But certainly vans than in UK or Spanish dealers.

The patience ran out and we went out hunting for alternatives. Now have a Bürstner, second-hand but less than 2 years old, and it is ticking most of the boxes atm! The Adria is still on order but will it ever arrive? And will the current moho convince us to keep it?

If you tell them you are still buying it to sell on they might give you a cash settlement to let them keep hold of it; it will possibly be worth 15k more than you will be paying them on it's eventual arrival.

With you on this. Our patience ran out too. Hymer on order & keeps getting delayed. So bought an excellent used Carthago a couple of months ago & love it (except don't love the comformatic gear box as much as our previous manual one!). Hymer on Fiat chassis still on order & dealer rang last week to say delayed again🤷‍♀️....So glad we have got one to use now as we have been Vanless since last Sept.

Not that I saw in Southern France but I gather Merc and VW/ Mann and Ford are making inroads into the German market for next year. Me thinks that deeper pockets will be required. We have a reservation on a Benimar Ford auto and it's already six months late. Dealer says possibly Sept/October??? but I won't hold my breath. The factory is only 250km up the road. Went past a couple of weeks ago not a lot of activity but it is the Aug shutdown. Only good thing is it's already gone up by 10k on the price agreed at order time😏

Well just been on the phone to our supplier chasing info re our Carado V337 which was due for delivery Sept 22 ...
its been pushed to Jan 23, the dealer told us that Carado aren't taking any new orders from them until they
clear the backlog...as a FYI. Anyone else getting a delivery date pushed back ?
