ADRIA Twin 640SLB

Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Bit late to the party but ordered, Adria Twin in November 2021. With delivery in April 2022, this was pushed back to May and then August. The latest as reported by Brownhills is that “hopefully” they are expecting the van to be built in September and “hopefully” have possession of it in early October. There’s a lot of hopefully’s in their statement! They also said that they have around 900 units on back order, folk who have ordered vans but not received them. I fully expect the October date to slip and fully resigned that if I get it by March 2023 I’ll be doing well. The waiting is the worst part. Still must remember it’s a first world problem
October is a default date many manufacturers have been quoting for some time. Ordered Rapido Dreamer August 21 still showing October 22 but expecting March April 23!

We ordered a Rapido 696f in November 2021 (dealer ordered in October 2021) which was due for delivery in May 22. Like all of the others, it has been pushed back and the latest is now Jan 2023. We ordered the 160bhp with the auto box but were told in Jan this is not available so opted for the 180bph upgrade. I must confess I wasn't sure whether to go for the 140 or not but thought its better to have too much than not enough!!

Pleased to see from the earlier posts that some RHD models are coming through.

Recently watched a guy in Germany travelling around visiting dealerships who appeared to have plenty of stock 🤔
Every French dealer I passed travelling to the UK had mountains of new and used stock. Even in tiny villages

We ordered a Burstner Eliseo motorvan in August 2021 for delivery in April 2022 but have had constant delays. Latest date is now January 2023. The forecourt of the dealer, which is usually crowded with vans, is empty.
Where did you order from Sue?

Adria Compact Supreme SC for which we signed on the dotted line mid October 2022. This was already on order by the dealer for a ‘sometime in April 2023’ delivery, so we could add to the base specification without delaying the build/delivery. We were fully expecting the provisional date to run over by a few months so weren’t particularly surprised to be told in early May that 28th August was the target date given by Adria for delivery to the dealer - this remained the same advice when I enquired again in early June.

Scroll forward to today and the latest information from the Adria Dealer Portal is that Fiat have issued a chassis number to Adria and a ‘confident’ delivery to the dealer is now on 19th September, so not too far out from the previous provisional date. Despite the delay there are two ‘silver linings’ that come from this cloudy saga a) It’s due the day after Mrs Orion’s birthday, so will save me buying an(other) present! b) The email confirmed that our order is ‘price protected’, saving us at least £6.5k compared to an order made a few months later.

BTW I noticed that the Adria U.K. website no longer offers a Configurator option, just the base prices. EDIT: I’ve just recalculated the costing using the new base price (but not taking into account any additional price increases for the options we’ve specified) and the uplift on the total order is now in the region of £10k!
Monthly update from our supplying dealer as we head (hopefully) into the home straight!

The Adria Portal is now showing a delivery date of 24th September (compared to 19th a month ago), so not a lot of change from that and hopefully a sign that we are more or less still on track. Now closer to my birthday on the 26th than Mrs Orion’s on the 18th, so looking to save her and not me the price of a present! Dealer also mentioned that a ‘couple’ of vans due in for July are still awaited, so fingers doubly crossed.

We’ve not heard for awhile now
Not sure I dare ask as expecting the worst 🙈

We finally collected our new Itineo SB740 yesterday in Barcelona. It’s an Auto 160bhp on a heavy chassis. We waited almost 14 months for it. The dealer said FIAT have now paused production because of component scarcity.

Spoke to my dealer yesterday- ordered my Adria Twin on July 5th 21, for March 1st delivery- that moved , with an engine and colour compromise, to 9th Sept 22.
Apparently now looking at March 23 at the earliest!
Apparently Fiat are concentrating on the electric
market and have almost slowed to a stop on the campers .

The news doesn't seem to get any better unfortunately with just the odd few coming through. :(. The pent up demand if going to be huge. Wonder if there will be anything at all on display at NEC in Oct, surely they won't be able to carry on taking orders the way the market is atm.

Interested to know who your dealer is? similar situation here, ordered Adria Twin from Brownhills in October 21, delivery April 22, that became May, then August now October, but not hopeful. Also had engine and colour alterations applied to original order.

So I just rang a dealer about same model as ours but 2 years old but not the latest gearbox and a few differences which is £4000 more than we are paying.
While on he said the model we want - Burstner 736 has just been put back to week 4 next year
Seems they build them in models not orders 🤦🏻‍♂️

Being in the same boat so to speak I am just curious as to what information your dealer/Adria are basing their monthly delay update on, as it has been wrong on so many occasions. My April delivery was replaced by the dealer simply saying October and maybe not even then. Which I have taken as we haven't a clue! I can only assume they are basically just gawping at, in my case a Rapido, order spreadsheet!
We are in same boat for a Rapido , last news was October but a problem in delivery of auto gearboxes to factory (Fiat)

I have not seen anything or any moaning about delivery delays on the Spanish or Portuguese motorhome forums, I wonder if its RHD chassis could you get LHD sooner ? I wonder if anyone has tried. 🤔 Bob.
I am waiting on a LHD. Orderered in sept 21 delivery went from April 22 to Jun , to Oct 22 now not known and advised problem with auto boxes currently dictating delay . No date in site ?

Just been in France for a couple of weeks and visited a couple of French dealers to get some idea of what is available. Bottom line is they are in the same boat as everybody else. One dealer told us that their is a problem with Ford auto boxes that require a modified part that's not currently available so that checks out. Although there is stock in France a lot of it is older models on the the 2.3 Fiat very little on the new 2.2. A lot of Citroen bases but basic old cabs with no goodies. Here in Spain the dealers won't commit to any timelines. You get a shrug of the shoulders and told no info is forthcoming.

My dealer told me in February that all Dreamer / Rapido dates are showing as October on the system and they're bringing them forward only if / when they have certainty. I'm told I have a chassis number assigned now but still have an Oct date - hoping for May / June. Hope your April date materialises.
Also had an October delivery , order last sept , but today advised that Rapido should update at end of August ( french holidays ) but dealer was not expecting a lightning moment ! Advised that if ordering new today delivery would be 2024 ! Also price rise expected from Rapido imminent .
thank goodness we still have old MH.

I'm getting worried now after seeing this thread. I was looking forward to my new Swift in June having placed the order at the NEC, I need to make a call tomorrow before I sell my Bessacarr and end up with nothing for the summer!
Our dealer said dont sell my current MH until he gives firm delivery as totally unpredictable deliveries currently. Also will keep his trade price if I want to go that route.

I signed an order for a LHD camper van at last year’ Caravan Salon and was told to expect an 18 to 24 months wait. After zero communication back from the dealer, I got this week a letter stating that a; no vans for that model has been delivered to the converter yet, b; there was an immediate 10% price increase if I still wanted it, c; there may be more price increases to come, d; the vans may never be built. There was a form with the letter to fill with my bank details in order to refund me the deposit in case I wanted to cancel the order. I emailed the German dealer stating that a; they never got back to me to finalise some options, b; I never paid a deposit and c; it is impossible for me to buy this camper van if I receive zero communication back from them (I tried, believe me). I don’t expect to hear back anything from them.
This is the same from every dealer I contacted, wether in UK or Germany. They don’t return your calls even if you keep trying (the person you need to talk to is never available when you call). I finally had a call back from a dealer a few days ago. Nice girl but she tells me that the converter cannot even order new vans from Stellantis before October/November time and there will be another price increase on 1 October. 🤯🤬😡

This hasn’t been my experience when communicating with my local Adria dealer, Chelston at Wellington, Somerset. Following the deal being agreed, order confirmed, contract signed and a deposit given, I have received immediate responses (emailed and by phone) to any queries I’ve made, plus updates when available or requested. They seem to be very professional,on the ball and able to judge how accurate the manufacturer’s delivery forecasts are based on other orders coming through. They’ve also constantly reiterated that the order is ‘price protected’ despite interim increases by Adria.

That's some good news. (y) Mine was ordered in August 21 from a dealer bulk order for April 22 delivery then amended to October.
Keep us posted.
Good news. The van managed to get on a transporter from the factory last Friday before the summer shutdown, hoping to collect from the dealer during the first week of Sept. (y)

Excelent news. As a matter of interest did you order the automatic as there are posts about an auto shortage!

Yup same here also Rapido.Last update was delivery in October but cant see it. Actually went to Marquis Surrey today to see what 2nd hand options might be available but very limited stock, maybe 8 in total.Only thing that met our needs was the new A class Autotrail.£100k so within budget but having had an AT before wouldn't go there again after 5 years of leaks and even this brand new version had trim falling off and misaligned cupboard doors.

They do appear to be dripping through but I think the auto shortage already mentioned is an additional limiting factor.
With October only 8 weeks away I find it strange that Rapido have not updated their delivery dates as other Convertors have done.
I am guessing that will happen when they all get back to work in September.

Dear all,

We are from New Zealand and ordered a 2023 model a year ago (from a German dealer) a Possl RHD campervan, based on Fiat.
A month ago we were informed that our order was candled due to FIAT not being able to provide the base, having a long overdue orders. Our German dealer told us that 90 of his European orders were cancelled.
We wee hoping to be able to get ine from a UK dealer.... from this chain, I suppose that too will be imposible.
