Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Well just been on the phone to our supplier chasing info re our Carado V337 which was due for delivery Sept 22 ...
its been pushed to Jan 23, the dealer told us that Carado aren't taking any new orders from them until they
clear the backlog...as a FYI. Anyone else getting a delivery date pushed back ?
I am expecting the same news when I contact Highbridge. Ordered (Rapido Dreamer PVC) August 21 for April 22 delivery then pushed to late October 22 and last month still showing the same date but several have had dates pushed back but a couple have had unexpected deliveries ahead of the delayed date.
From what I have gleaned autos which are on the Fiat engine are being delayed. Manuals seem to be dripping through.
I'm going to wait for the Continental August holiday exodus to return to work and may get a better idea. I have a buyer gagging for the boat but I'm not letting it go until the van arrives!

I'll be collecting my manual Fiat on Friday so can confirm they're dripping through. (y)

I ordered in November but it was a van that the dealer already had on order so I'm not sure when they originally placed it.
Likewise with my August 21 order. I think most dealers place annual orders of a variety of vans which customers can up spec. by a certain cut off date. It would appear currently with chip and other component shortages, more spec = more delay!

ordered ours (put the deposit down end of March).... was never under any illusion that we would receive it on the stated delivery date of Sept 22 was always prepared for a 23 delivery date .

Ditto here - Adria dealer pre-ordered (don’t know exactly when) but we upped the spec in mid-October 21. I presume that like most of the motor trade they would have a certain amount of vehicles pre-ordered within a defined period to ensure they qualified for a rebate from the manufacturer. Hence the post-registered sales of new vehicles back in the good old days - about 2 years ago!

Hi Dash300 this is what we did with a Hymer, took over a dealer order in August 21 and customised spec. Took delivery last week.

Edit: Merc not Fiat

Monthly update from our supplying dealer as we head (hopefully) into the home straight!

The Adria Portal is now showing a delivery date of 24th September (compared to 19th a month ago), so not a lot of change from that and hopefully a sign that we are more or less still on track. Now closer to my birthday on the 26th than Mrs Orion’s on the 18th, so looking to save her and not me the price of a present! Dealer also mentioned that a ‘couple’ of vans due in for July are still awaited, so fingers doubly crossed.

Another regular monthly update from our supplying dealer - Chelston, Wellington - and the delivery date on the Adria Portal is still showing as 24th September and the chassis number is confirmed. Caveat from them was that some (not all) vehicles are being delivered up to 2 weeks later than expected, but generally they are more or less as quoted.

This is an Adria Compact Supreme SC with 160bhp engine and the 9 speed automatic ‘box - a dealer pre-order that we latched on to and upped the spec in mid-October 2021 with an original delivery date of April this year. All fingers and now toes are crossed! 🤞🤞🤞

We are also on a Carado FB page, I was asking some questions and updating them on the delay to our V337.
A member who is based in France and who was looking for a used V 337 said that there is quite a lot of new stock including V337's sitting unsold on French forecourts  ... my thoughts have always been that LHD will always take preference over RHD.

We've got a Malibu PVC on order from Southdowns Motorhomes in Portsmouth. We ordered in March 2022, and were originally told "spring '23". Then in June, we were told "build month of July 2023". Disappointing, but not unexpected.

Anyway, today I spoke to the dealer (because the 2023 prices have been released) and, almost as an aside, he told me he's now expecting it at the dealership in February 2023! So 5/6 months earlier than expected!

I Reported a few days ago about a posting on our Carado FB page, the person who was looking for a used V337 has bitten the bullet and bought a new van from a dealer :lipssealed: ah well what a difference I think haven the steering wheel on the other side makes .
Obviously not sure what's happening in the rest of Europe but at least in France you can Walk in ..Pay... and drive a new van away.

Happy days for me as I collected my Swift Ducato 874 from Lowdhams yesterday and only around 2-3 months late, the bad news for some is that they have no more available to them until 2024 due to the Fiat shortage!

Another 'to be' Dreeamer owner who is still waiting for our 140 Auto XL that was a stock order originally due with Highbridge in Feb 22 to be delivered . Was moved to June and now at the magic October date !

Time to update the signature

According to the dealer, all 'PVC chassis' (didn't mention delivery vans nor plain chassis, just PVC's) with automatic have been moved to 2023 and that goes for any brand. Must be hell of a queue once the get things rolling.

The more or less fun part is that out model is going to be the Grand Canyon which is reported to get a freshened up interior in Q1. How nice EXCEPT!!11 it doesn't have the bloody shelf in the front and that is what we exactly wanted for the enormous storage space it gives. The toilet, how ever seems to better.

Just had another call from Southdowns Motorhomes (buying a Malibu 640 LE RB Auto). Expected delivery date now put back to Feb 2024 (from March 2023). Something to do with Fiat shutting down production because they can't get the components.

That seems a bit strange that much of a delay
I personally wouldn’t trust anything they say
Lied to us and tried to to have us over when we enquired about a new motorhome
Guess time will tell 😞

If you look at this thread overall you can see that huge delays and no dates at all is the norm today, don't think any dealer needs to make up their own. I have to say I don't know if I can even trust the 2023 estimate any more.

They might hope you cancel your order, so they then sell it on for 15 grand more, that kind of delay doesn’t seem right at all👍

We have a Burstner on order from 2021
After date changes the dealer told Burstner to stop and go away and evaluate the supply chain and give true dates
Our march 22 then April then July then sept is now supposed to be November 22

I had the same thought. But how can I tell for sure? how does anyone know? There's no independent way of checking anything, as far as I can see. At best they (Malibu or the dealer, could be either) are trying to manage expectations. He said they've been told they can't place any 2024 orders at all, which is consistent with what others on here have said.

It is very tempting to cancel and just go and buy second hand instead.... 18 months is a long time to wait! But I feel that's letting the bastards win, and I won't get precisely the model i want

I would not cancel, if you have a guaranteed fixed price👍

I agree, definitely not cancel. When it does eventually arrive you have the specific vehicle you want, plus the £15k (or even more) increase in value will take care of depreciation for while - and that’s not even taking into account the crazy secondhand values that will likely apply. Stick with it, spend the waiting time planning what your going to be doing when it arrives, (and maybe save up for something special to do?), and reap the benefits

Go the distance
Our motorhome has gone up about 20,000 since we ordered
If we cancelled we would only get one 2/3 years old for the same money
If the 100% know you are not backing out you might get different news

I bought my Swift for £101,085 back at the NEC in Feb, collected last week, Happy Days!!! Since then I've seen a used Swift 874 with 500 miles advertised for £115,000 and the next Lowdhams version won't be available until 2024 due to Fiat delays. I think I got Lucky!

It’s getting difficult trying to go about normal life with all fingers and toes crossed for a hopefully imminent delivery, so to while away the time I went on the Adria website comparator which is now back up and running.

First thing to note, although not unexpected, was that the 160hp engine has disappeared and it’s place taken by the 180hp unit, so a direct comparison with earlier quotations/offers isn’t possible. Even so, the price difference for the otherwise identical specification is over £16k (more than 20%), and that is in less than 9 months! Is there a more compelling reason to sit tight on your order if it’s price protected?

the Burstner configurator is still off line
You can look at some bits though
Strangely enough they show option for 140 or 160 no 180 (I’d read that most were doing 140/180 options only
Seems they’ve dropped a couple of models too in the Harmony range
Our latest date is November but we will see

160 has been dropped, Hymer & Carthago only have the 180 on RHD the 140 is an option on LHD, also RHD Carthago's are 180 with 9 sp auto no other options.
