Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

It’s getting difficult trying to go about normal life with all fingers and toes crossed for a hopefully imminent delivery, so to while away the time I went on the Adria website comparator which is now back up and running.

First thing to note, although not unexpected, was that the 160hp engine has disappeared and it’s place taken by the 180hp unit, so a direct comparison with earlier quotations/offers isn’t possible. Even so, the price difference for the otherwise identical specification is over £16k (more than 20%), and that is in less than 9 months! Is there a more compelling reason to sit tight on your order if it’s price protected?
Having waited over 12 months from order it's getting close and as you say the price protection has also kept us in the game. I have the full printout of our specification and upgrades which have not changed. The Van is according to Rapido in build and still showing delivery end Oct. I was expecting a change in date after they all returned from their August shutdown but nothing so far. I still have my buyer patiently waiting for the Boat but I'm not going to jinx it now!

160 has been dropped, Hymer & Carthago only have the 180 on RHD the 140 is an option on LHD, also RHD Carthago's are 180 with 9 sp auto no other options.
Makes sense to me 140hp is a minimum in my view. Would have gone for the 180hp but the extra over the 160 was excessive. By all accounts the 160 is fine. I'll find out one day!!

My thoughts too but no choice now so I've gone for the 180.

I’ve got a Carado 540 on order. Delivery should have been February 2022. It’s been pushed back every month and it MIGHT come in December this year but as I was told it would definitely be in October I’m not holding my breath. I’ve been ringing other dealers and everyone is now quoting 2024 as delivery date if you order now so we’ve left our order in but I don’t think it will arrive this year. Everyone is saying the same thing because they’re all reliant on Fiat chassis.

Many of us in the same boat
My order August 21 for April 22 is now still showing end Oct which seems to a default date for many. So getting close perhaps!!

Time to update the signature

According to the dealer, all 'PVC chassis' (didn't mention delivery vans nor plain chassis, just PVC's) with automatic have been moved to 2023 and that goes for any brand. Must be hell of a queue once the get things rolling.

The more or less fun part is that out model is going to be the Grand Canyon which is reported to get a freshened up interior in Q1. How nice EXCEPT!!11 it doesn't have the bloody shelf in the front and that is what we exactly wanted for the enormous storage space it gives. The toilet, how ever seems to better.
I've got an Ayres Rock on order (ordered January '21) with original promised date of November '21. Latest update is November - I'm not holding my breath! As far as I can see, to have the 'cab window' and not have the shelf is an optional extra.

Also updated another thread but just had an update from our dealer
A class Rapido on a Fiat base ordered October 2021 for March/April 2022, then delayed to October 2022, now looking like January 2023.
Fiat still in a mess and seem to be suffering more than others so much so that many converters are moving to manual Peugeot/Renault

Our coachbuilt Rapido ordered October 2021 for delivery in May 2022 has now been delayed until March 2023. We have specified the 9speed auto so maybe that has not helped our cause. Very frustrating, but not sure we have any option other than to wait patiently.

Hang in there, my Rapido PVC ordered 12th August 21 for April 22 delivery was put back early doors to end Oct 22 and it is apparently arriving at dealer end Oct. as advised. It is also the Fiat 160 with the 9 speed auto so they are coming through.

I've heard very recently Murvi can't even get a price quote from Fiat at the moment for a new vehicle. The result is they simply can't accept new orders as they can't tell the customer what the price would be.

My German dealer has a hire fleet of 60+ homes. I noted that a lot of his smaller Dethleffs are on Ford now rather than Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen.

He has said he is keeping many hire vehicles for longer due to lack of new stock availability.

Really pleased to say we collected our Adria Twin from the dealer today, originally ordered in July 21. I got a good P/x price, and to their credit the dealer (Chelston) stood by their July 21 price promise, so I have a van that would cost near enough £20k more to order today... chuffed to bits with the van, and looking forward to some late autumn trips now.

So we went to the NEC today and spoke to Burstner
The last we were told was being built November for December delivery which we would then wait til jan.
Burstner today said it will be slightly delayed and we should get it jan/feb 🤦🏻‍♂️ But if that is the case fine as would wait til march and wouldn’t use it before then though it would be nice to actually see it.
Strangely one of the things they said were causing delays is the paperwork to get it to the uk which I’ve not heard before

We ordered our Rapido at Feb NEC show for March ‘23 but looks like ours is end of ‘23 now ☹️

Our Ducato based Itineo Motorhome was delivered to the dealer in the UK last December, it was March before the CoC paperwork arrived from Rapido allowing the dealer to register & tax it. At least we got a 22 reg not 71 because of the delay and the warranty started in March too.

Interesting - don’t suppose you’d happen to know how they’re faring with the Ford Transit? 🤔

Another regular monthly update from our supplying dealer - Chelston, Wellington - and the delivery date on the Adria Portal is still showing as 24th September and the chassis number is confirmed. Caveat from them was that some (not all) vehicles are being delivered up to 2 weeks later than expected, but generally they are more or less as quoted.

This is an Adria Compact Supreme SC with 160bhp engine and the 9 speed automatic ‘box - a dealer pre-order that we latched on to and upped the spec in mid-October 2021 with an original delivery date of April this year. All fingers and now toes are crossed! 🤞🤞🤞

Latest update as at 25/10/22 is that Adria are showing it as out of production and now in transit. Next notification will apparently be when it arrives in Harwich and the dealer is invoiced by Adria U.K., then it’s hopefully a few days to delivery.

All a bit delayed from the last anticipated delivery date, but at least once production and a chassis number was confirmed the dealer has been able to follow progress via the Adria Portal and keep us informed.

My Rapido has followed the same pattern. Suggested October delivery with Chassis number supplied has changed to October completion which Rapido confirmed to dealer a couple of days ago. Now awaiting shipping so that could be 2 to 3 weeks or so I guess.

That will be interesting as a Burstner rep at the show told me one of the issues they are having is the paperwork to get to the uk

Do Burstner have a dedicated U.K. distributor or do the factory sell direct to the dealer network? I believe that Adria do - based in Sudbury - and maybe that might create a different import situation?

I’m not aware of Burstner having a UK arm. It seems they sell directly to a uk dealer network of independent moho dealers.
I spoke to a couple of Burstner staff at the Düsseldorf show and they said they’d build my van tomorrow if they had the chassis. It seems that FIAT are the spanner in the works. There wasn’t any mention of CoC paperwork delays though.

A dealer told me again this week that the delays are due to chassis unavailability from Fiat. Mine has now been pushed out to April 23. It was originally scheduled for May 22!!!

Today’s latest news is that it’s arrived at the dealer’s premises.

Sorting out reg no, insurance, and the few items we want fitted - roof antenna, remote LPG filling point, bbq point (I’ll do the internal installations myself) - and collection from 21/11/22 onwards.

Happy days!

We are wishing for that day to come for us

Exciting time. We also have a Adria Compact SC. Ours is just coming up to a year old and we are very pleased with it. Just remember, if you are going to buy the extended Fiat warranty you only have 14 days to do so.

Thanks for the timely reminder - it’s something I’d noticed, logged, and promptly forgotten! (y)
