Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Spookily got an email this afternoon stating the m/h is due to go into production next month with an expected completion date of 15th July.No chassis number yet so not holding my breath but hoping we will have it for Goodwood Revival weekend at least.
Excellent news. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞. Our Oct 21 order has now been moved out to September but I’m optimistic it may arrive September or shortly thereafter.

What bugs me is that I don't see many Ducato vans on our roads. Boxer and Relay are much more present as the older interior is not affected from certain components supply issues the Ducato 8 suffers. The UK is a low priority for Fiat (certain options no longer available on RHD models).
News from the factory: May 6th & 7th, on strike; yesterday and the day before, on strike too. Reason: workload.

The quicker the industry opens up its options further the better for us all.Competion always better for the consumer

Oh dear, and I was starting to feel more hopeful for my Rapido 😮

It seems I've been very luck with my Pilote on Ducato series 9. Although I'd be happier if DVLA would get typing and get the damn thing registered so I can bring it home.

This second stage waiting is almost more frustrating. Knowing van is sat there in the compound ready to go.

Fabulous news and 🤞 as you say….
We believe ours is now with the dealership but delay is in registering with DVLA 🤦🏼‍♀️ 3 weeks and counting… wondering if this is just another ruse! It feels like another year has passed by😱

We ordered an Adria Compact DL in October 2022. The delivery indication from the dealer then was ‘early 2024’. He’s just written to advise of an estimated delivery date of 19/10/23, to him. The dealer did mention Fiat supply issues, especially for autos. If this delivery date is met, we’ll be happy!

It appears we are one of the worst examples ordered Feb 21 for a Feb 22 delivery.

We have been getting increasingly excited as the latest week 24 production date estimate on the Hymer Portal was fast approaching with no negative news.

Phone rings this morning its from the dealer....... its now November build and my understanding is that it is no more certain than the myriad of other estimates that have already been and gone.

What an industry and Fiat are a disgrace.

If you search for Motorhomes on Autotrader (new and used) above £75,000 and from 2021 year, there are 108 pages of listings with 11 on a page.

It would appear the bottom has fallen out of the market.

Having had the phone call on Monday delivery going back to November we've had enough, too many push back dates and zero confidence in any proposed dates.
Price was supposed to be locked in but only if it ever gets to us and with another price rise looming I now feel there kicking the can down the road and we need to get on with living our dreams. We have now purchased the exact same model albeit two years old from Pullingers and will be on our travels in 2 weeks.

I think that is a sensible and pragmatic response.I'd do the same if what we wanted as our long term vehicle was more easily sourced. Now you can get properly excited.Very best of luck.

Have you managed to get your van yet? Ours arrived 29th April at the dealership and still not registered! All this waiting driving me mad now.

No we haven’t 😡 we rang DVLA who inform us they are working on mail that arrived 10/5/23! Dealership inform us that they dispatched everything to DVLA on 18/5/23 the MOHO having arrived with them on 5/5/23…. not sure why there was a delay there either ….. but the months are still ticking by and we are not getting any younger😳

I did the same. Got fed up of all stories / false promises regarding delayed delivery dates. Ended up with the same make but an A class rather than a Coachbuilt, very similar spec but a good chunk of money more expensive. We’re now getting the breaks we’ve dreamt of. Extended holidays planned. It’s perfect.

It's very frustrating! I was told that the dealer had to wait for documentation from the manufacturer before they could submit. So that might also explain your delay. I think we are perhaps a week ahead of you. I'll update here as soon as I hear anything. Best of luck. What day did you contact the DVLA?

I've kept my insurance running on a vehicle I now longer own (I 'd only just paid the premium when I sold it) to avoid this but didn't expect to be quite waiting this long! Got a bit trapped by my own strategy as just paid another premium so hoping it just needs a small top up when the van arrives. At the end of the day I've been (reluctantly) saving £100's every month through not running a vehicle and have the best part of £100k invested while waiting 🙃
That is a very bad idea, you can be held accountable for any accident/incident that the vehicle is involved in.
It may also be considered as insurance fraud because no claims discount will be being accumulated.

I don't see how I can be accountable in any way if I'm not responsible for driving the vehicle at the time of any incident that may occur involving it just by virtue of being the insurer in the same way a car hire company or joint policy holder isn't. The insurance was on an auto renewal basis which I initially not realised but then saw the opportunity unusual and unadvised as it might be.I'm maxed out on ncb so not suggesting I'm looking to benefit from any further years, just maintain it.They are not even being disadvantaged by this as I clear have no intention of ever making a claim, they are receiving a premium for actually no risk .Anyway it's done now and I'm not too bothered.

I just chased with the dealer. Apparently they had to wait for COC documents and NOVA from Pilote in France by post so that meant that the application to the DVLA didn't get posted until 05/22! Its crazy that it takes three weeks after van arrived before they even sent off the registration docs.

So on that basis you have overtaken us and we are 4 days behind you in the queue! :LOL:Hope you hear soon.

Oh no😳 we haven’t heard anything either…so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really don’t understand why some do the whole thing online and others rely on a postal system. You would think the dealerships would want a quick turnaround too🤔and get us off their backs or at the very least tell us the whole story😡 If I hear anything I will keep you in the loop! 🤞 it won’t be too long now😏

I don’t understand either.
Some say it’s too dear but surely if it was then nobody would use it.
When ours arrived it will be registered the same day.
Can’t believe in this day and age things like this get done by post

We bought a new Hyundai paid deposit balance two days later and registered with DVLA the same day. Email confirmation from DVLA next day. Why not the same with a new MH.

It can be but some dealers choose not to and say about costs

Yes , ours is from Highbridge & all done while we waited on day of collection.
Yes they have to pay for on-line access but with delays etc. they also said that it saves issues with people who change their minds !
me thinks the only ones doing it via post are those who don't want to pay for on-line access
