Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Spookily got an email this afternoon stating the m/h is due to go into production next month with an expected completion date of 15th July.No chassis number yet so not holding my breath but hoping we will have it for Goodwood Revival weekend at least.

I realise I’m helping no one with this comment but in our drive from Bayonne to Rouen over the last couple of days we passed probably 8-10 dealers. I would say most had many 10s of new motor homes and everyone had 10-20 PVCs. I mention this as in previous visits sighting PVCs at franchises had been unusual.
It has been like that every year I travel to &fro across France.
At least you are all ‘price protected’
The price is only 'protected' if the vehicle ever turns up.If they are kicking the can down the road hoping you cancel.............

Have they told you how long it takes to register with DVLA? We were told our motorhome arrived at the dealership 3 weeks ago after waiting 15 months! Delay is now down to the DVLA having a backlog of registrations for new vehicles so could still be another 3-4 weeks:( I suggest you make those plans very flexible!
Our dealer said ours would be registered in a day when it arrived
Think it depends what system the dealer has in place

I suspect so. It may also be based on whether the van was imported or not. I know our dealer had to wait for paperwork from Pilote before they could even start the registration process. The paperwork is sent after the van arrives. If the conversion was done in the UK in may be easier and quicker to register perhaps? Maybe something to do with import duties, taxes etc (I'm guessing here)

Some imports may have their own subsidiary company in the U.K., Adria for example, so that might make it easier for a dealer to register them as the CoC etc. will be available.

Thats interesting. We ordered an Adria Twin at the October 2022 show with a delivery date of June/July 2023 which we never really thought would happen. It slipped to 2nd week September 2023 now its October 2023. We'll have to wait and see.
Ours has now also moved back from August to October 23 - 2 years 6 months and counting.

Mark and Mindy Bad news might be inbound :(

I visited Murvi yesterday and they said they are still having massive difficulties getting Ducatos.

What Motorhome is that
Do you still have one at the moment or won’t that affect no claims
Adria Twin Supreme 640.

Yes, we still have a T5 that we have to keep under a certain mileage for part exchange. Sadly a little too small for us now.

That was my problem. Ordered new van, sold the old one and waited for delivery. 18 months later cancelled new van order and took delivery of another model. My previous insurers wouldn’t carry my no claims over and other companies wanted to start again without. Cost me many hundreds more than I was expecting.

I've kept my insurance running on a vehicle I now longer own (I 'd only just paid the premium when I sold it) to avoid this but didn't expect to be quite waiting this long! Got a bit trapped by my own strategy as just paid another premium so hoping it just needs a small top up when the van arrives. At the end of the day I've been (reluctantly) saving £100's every month through not running a vehicle and have the best part of £100k invested while waiting 🙃

That mileage restriction seems very unfair when the dealer is unable to provide a realistic delivery date. I’ve recently joined the Adria 640 SLB waiting list and have no such restrictions, just a £1000 deposit which I can cancel if the waiting times drift - timescales not defined though, just have to do battle if we get to that stage.

That’s my next worry the full no claims I’ll lose as it’ll be over 2 years by around 8 weeks if van arrives on time 😩

But why then have Murvi stopped building on the Mercedes chassis? Must be just the cost but they always used to offer it and advertised the fact.

That's a bit grim, really feel for you.

Nothing any of us waiting can do at the moment, we're going to stick it out until the end as we've ordered exactly what we want and would be unlikely to get it elsewhere. On the other hand we haven't had a van for 2.5 years and have saved considerably by not going anywhere.

I took out one of the last 2.8% Apr interest rate loans as a top up to the sale of our existing m/h.Paid a big chunk off already and doing well from the investment.Every cloud!

No restrictions for us, dealer said don't worry about the mileage I'm expecting a Hymer with starship mileage.
It will have another 15-20K on it from when we did the deal by the time the new one arrives

You really don't want to do that, if the vehicle is involved in an accident it will be logged against you on the insurance database and increase your premiums.

Thanks.I did check whether that would be an issue with our fleet department at work. They said any accident caused by either the new owner or a 3rd party would not effect me.The premiums quoted are based on my claims history. They did say the issue might well get noticed if the new owner insured with the same company. I will check again but a long way into this strategy now.
