Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

Just had an update on our Carthago, was originally due 23rd August but had been told probably wouldn't be until the end of September.
Latest update its now Feb 2024 and the price guarantee will be honored, dealer said they have canceled a lot of orders.

That's not good news Lenny, no update on ours,, other than it is scheduled for a 7 week window around week 40 production, which they said nearer the time they would be given a 2 week window. Do you know where yours is being built (Germany or Slovenia?)

A cancelled order is my greatest fear after 18 mths of waiting, a fixed price and having sold the previous m/h end 21 🤨

I was thinking of selling mine early, but might hold on?, had a similar situation with a car I purchased last year but that took 7mths from order, lucky as some had been waiting 18 months

We are still using our van with a fixed trade in agreed, so not too bad. If the new one was to come in August great but between getting it late Sep/Oct or the following Feb not too bothered.

We are on countdown for the new Pilote 696 D, ordered Sept 22 and due this month, have checked in with the dealer a couple of times and he says its still on schedule....we have kept the last week of the month free for a test run if it arrives, if it doesn´t then it´s a Cabrio run over into Italy up and down a few mountain passes again....life is cruel sometimes

We ordered an Elddis Encore Automatic in Feb 2022 and after a few pushbacks we have now been advised that it has arrived at the dealership and should be able to pick it up in a couple of weeks …. Seems there is some movement now👏🏻

Could you just clarify "dealer said they have canceled a lot of orders." Is it the dealer cancelling stock orders or their customers doing it?

To be honest as its going to be late I think I'd rather have it in Feb as long as it doesn't get put back again.
On their website the heavy chassis for the E line is currently unavailable.

When I ordered mine, I was advised that if I wanted a fiat, it would be sometime next year, but merc were coming through on time.

Is yours a Fiat Lenny?

Yep, unfortunately they only build the Compactline on the Fiat.

When I spoke to our old Hymer dealer at Caravan Salon last September he said on a Merc March/April delivery, on a Fiat at least November. Nothing in the Hymer range we liked & we wanted better quality.

New Pilotes seem to be filtering through now. Even heavy chassis and auto seems not to be a problem. Mine arrived at the dealer about 3-4 weeks after the build week. This final few weeks of waiting for the DVLA is killing me though!

Registration is not an issue here, we still have local offices for this sort of thing, we can get the dealer to do it or we do it ourselves, takes a couple of hours all in including having new plates made, will probably get short term 10 day plates with insurance to come home then reg it locally.

Just for information, we took delivery of our new Fiat based Adria last week, after an 18 month wait. A test of patience but totally worth the wait in the end! As I understand it there is more movement on the Fiat chassis' now and the wait might not be so long for folk in the future. The delays in supply seem to be common across most makes and models.

Hello everyone! I’ve finally paid & joined the forum after following this thread for a long time. I would like to my tale of woe to the pile in the hope that this post is like therapy.

We placed our order for an Adria Twin 640 SLB with Cara motor homes in April 2021! Original delivery planned December 2021. 7k deposit Deposit paid.

We’ve been through the same delays as documented by everybody else, paint changes, engine size changes etc, finally getting a Chassis number around August 2022. Sadly this order was then cancelled in September 2022 – no reason given. Dealer is still tracking the Chasiss number but it has not materialized anywhere. We had to reorder the van selecting colours again and with modified option and engine sizes. Luckily Adria froze the price at the original 2021 value.

We’ve now been waiting for 25 Months. 25!!!!!! With the van due for delivery in July 2023 (after being due in March 2023)

As you can imagine this has sucked all of the life and joy out of the process (and me!). At this point I’m not even sure we’ll get it and do not think I can wait another year but the discounted price of the van and frozen trade in value of our existing T5 is locking us in.

So do I win the award for longest delay, can anyone beat that? 😊

The people who ordered in 2021 seem to have had the worst time. It appears that Fiat cancelled a lot of chassis orders that year. Prices also went up a lot and those of us that paid the higher prices for 2022/2023 orders seem to be getting them delivered sooner. You can make of that what you will but it does seem that there has been some prioritising of deliveries to where the best profits can be made.

There also appears to be a lot of manufacturer variability. And of course you have much sympathy. The waiting is so painful . . .

And perhaps they are hoping that the people that ordered at a lower price will get fed up waiting and cancel their order.

This is defiantly a concern of ours, it would be in such bad faith to Adria customers if this was the case but money talks.

We are now essentially priced out of the new market at this point with all the rate and price increases, so if this falls through we will have to reconsider our upgrade plans.

As if on cue I've just heard the delivery date of the van has just moved to August 2023 sigh The wait continues.......

We'd like to add our story to this thread, there didn't seem to be much point posting before now as we were nowhere near any of the myriad delivery dates we'd been given and it just felt like adding salt to the wound.

We sold our previous van when the last lockdown ended in 2021 as we were planning to sell our house and go into rented for a while - moving with 2 dogs would be hard enough but adding 2 cars and a van to the mix was a step too far.

As JamSandy we placed our order for our Adria Twin SGX from Cara Motorhomes, although we placed ours one month later in May 2021, we were expecting it to be September/October 2021 delivery and thought that by then we'd be in our next house (which we were already underway with buying), Mark had retired and so we were looking forward to lots of trips away.

It seems we've been more fortunate as our order has stayed in the system for the whole time we've been waiting, however we've endured the many date pushbacks as others in the same situation.

A couple of weeks ago we contacted Cara to find out if there was a chassis number yet for our date of middle of June only to be told that we'd been pushed back again until 1 August.... A pushback of 1.5 months, could that possibly be true? Cara can only tell us what they themselves have been told but it doesn't make the waiting any easier.

We did discuss that other vans were getting through although we were still waiting and wondering whether these earlier deliveries are primarily motorhomes and its the PVCs which are being held up.

I have a relative who has also ordered an Adria Twin, different dealer, ordered in 2021 for delivery in March 2022 but now been told mid-July but as she says "who knows".

Thanks Mark and Mindy, its actually useful and helpful to know that there are others in a very similar situation, with the same dealer and van type. Which I suppose is what this thread is all about.

I'll keep you updated as ours progresses, or not as the case may be. I cannot imagine the stress of moving home whilst worrying about a van delivery!

Thank you and we'll let you know if there are any developments with us.

We seem to be quite good at moving house as we've actually done it twice since putting in our order, not intending to do it again though!

You are right about taking all the joy out of what should be a pleasurable experience and that's before we have to deal with all the snagging lol.

Only upside is I've made a sizeable dent in the top up loan taken at 2.8% 😀

I hope it works out all OK, that is a hell of a deposit, I only put £500 down for my Carthago & it's refundable.

We know the feeling - bought our first new motorhome in 2014 and it was exciting and thoroughly enjoyable with great personal handover experience over at Wokingham Motorhomes. Downsizing and ordered a Rapido V68 Feb 2022 for delivery March 2023 - checked with dealer last August and all still on schedule so sold our A Class privately in September thinking only a few months to go …. Found out at the NEC October that delivery delayed to end of this year! Latest is apparently a build date of 30th September ……. Fun and excitement waning 🤔🤞
