Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

You've done well.We also had to leave a £5k deposit (credit card for at least some security) and it was non negotiable. Other dealers we spoke to said the same. With the van increasing in cost by 25%, I'm still taking that as a win (as long as it turns up of course)
Both dealer I spoke to only wanted £500 both refundable and fixed price on the van.

Our 6th time revised Adria delivery was end April 23 but after yesterdays email its end of June. Its not the dealers fault and the reason given is the release of the base vehicle.
We are beginning to wonder if its ploy to get us to cancel when prices have rocketed so much since our deposit. Although we have been told the price was fixed theres only so long you can wait. Looking through theses posts it seems we are not alone.

If you have a confirmed and price protected order then it’s not any kind of ploy by the dealer or manufacturer to get you to cancel. We were in a similar position and, having seen the information that is available to the dealer via the Adria online portal, I can say that they will only be firming up on dates once the chassis number is confirmed and then when it moves into production. Even after that stage the quoted delivery date can be +/- 2 or so weeks either way, (ours came early).

Hang in there as you’ll not get a better deal considering the ongoing price increases - we now have a MoHo that is, at current pricing, worth £22k more than we paid for it! That’s going to take care of a fair amount of depreciation going forward, and doesn’t even take into account the crazy pricing of secondhand vans.

My experience is that no dealer was willing to offer a fixed price, with one unbelievably wanting a £5k non refundable deposit!, obviously not placed my order with them!

It was the manufacturer guaranteeing the fixed price.

Thats what I like to see nice small deposits :giggle:

I didn’t mind making our £2k (refundable) deposit as we managed to obtain more than that as a discount, plus the order being price protected - although I didn’t realise at the time how much I’d be glad of that particular one!

I'm seeing a lot more of these kind of posts. Seems like new vans are starting to be delivered again.

Transit supplies have always been better which is why so many converters are switching to it. I heard from Fiat that the main reason for the Ducato delays is the switch from hydraulic to electric steering. Ducato supply is also getting much better. That's a lot to do with order cancellations because customers either can't wait any longer or won't put up with all the price increases. My factory build has just moved from November to late May.

What motorhome manufacturer was your order with? My March Rapido (Ducato auto) had been put back to build end September so really October …. ☹️

And mine (C50 on a 140 Manual chassis) has moved from July 2022, to October, to December to May 23 and now August 23 (maybe). Issue is delivery of fiat chassis.
Committed on dealer pre-order April 22 (so suspect they got it allocated end of 21)
Luckily retained our 749M "classic" and she still rocks !

A Westfalia, Ducato auto like yours. It was from a dealer preorder though.

Do you mean build date for the chassis or Westfalia? If the former, I would really like to know how you obtain that information about Fiat.

Well, went to the dealership yesterday and there she was, all as agreed and specified (y)
Very lucky indeed, a guy put a deposit on similar model day after us last October, only to be told this month that Fiat had lost his chassis and delivery will be 2024 now  nothing Burstner or the dealership could do.

The Industry is crazy, we ordered Feb 21 for Feb 22 delivery and still waiting..... and around the UK there are loads of brand new 2022 and 2023 Fiat based vehicles for sale.
Why would they build unsold stock items when real customers are waiting for their orders???

Yup.Fiat in a mess. I only need a chassis and engine rather than chassis cab for my build to progress

Looks good but what's with the grey cab? I got my Lyseo Harmony 690 in Feb with a white cab. Is grey the new colour for this season or was this an option? Or did you just get lucky? Looks good anyway.

It is an option "Lanzorete Grey" but we had no option, had to have the one on the system & pay for it , looks good through ;)

This is the latest news from the factory. By the way, the factory is no longer called SEVEL Sud but FCA Italy. The change of name happened at the end of 2022.

My google translate comprehension may be limited but I think that means that they lost a weeks production in February which they are still trying to catch up with by running the plant for the odd day on a weekend. They have caught up a bit, but they are still slightly behind.

I doubt a weeks delay is going to have any huge impact on our motorhome deliveries.

We finally picked ours up last Friday, in our case a week earlier that we had agreed so we really couldn’t complain. They had another similar van going out the same day but said the are waiting on 4 more (different model that are waiting for window catches) that will be another month or so yet. The dealer claimed that the delivery dates are getting slightly more predictable vs 6 months ago.
