what did you fix today

Kitchen waste trap leaked.
Ordered a replacement but it's not the same and doesn't fit.
Only like for like I've found is sold by Reimo in Germany and they and the local sales dealer don't like replying to enquiries.
I've therefore sickaflex'd the original screw base for the time being.

I don't do fixing, no aptitude for such things, but waste disposal in kitchen had suddenly stopped, checked fuse was OK, then started looking for replacements

Went on the Franke web site, found mine. then saw link to spare parts, exploded drawing mentioned reset button, didn't even know it had one, pressed, all working again :D:D(y)(y)

It might not be a big job, but I was just about to pay out £400 for a new one :)

Since that "fix it meet" you are getting all hands on @DavidG58.

Hi Bill, struggling to understand what you are fitting as the word trog to me refers to a fruit basket. may be a local dialect thing, but I am now really curious

Moved and wired in the overbed lights from the original head end to under the locker at the original foot end seeing as we sleep 'wrong way round' in our van from how the manufacturer intended! Fitted a couple of soft baskets at the 'new' head end for bits and bobs (alarm, phone etc), already fitted a rigid wire basket for mugs.

Screwed a soft drawstring black velvet bag next to the TV bracket to hold the 12v lead and remote control.

Wired up two 12v sockets in the rear o/h lockers and one in front o/h locker which I'd fitted previously, also fitted a 12v socket and battery charge level display in the replacement back panel at the rear of the passenger seat base (wired to the cab battery) which I'd made previously.

Screwed a glossy coaster to the top of the non-lift up dash flap which the sat nav attaches to and whilst I had the panel off I fed the 12v lead for the rear view camera round to the 12v multi-socket which sits on the 'shelf' above the radio.

Well Ralph's Wired up the 2 victron solar panels he fitted to the roof of Pug last night after he finished work. He was expecting bad rain here today . But we only had a bit this morning.
He's fitted the door he made , on Friday, to the wet room.
Fitted the door he made this morning , to the bathroom cabinet.
He's now trying to get his head round the template for the sink and cooker and hob. So he can get it to he corian work surface guys.
He's not wanting the oven door handles to jut out , so he's trying to sink it all in a bit.
Hopefully he'll finish off soon cos we're going out for a meal. He'll no doubt do an update on his build thread tomorrow.

Gas leak, got bake from a bike ride, opened garage door I thought I know that smell, out with leak detector traced to hose connection on one of the filters a quick tweak all sorted.

It's where a man keeps his sh*t when the house is full

Went to the inlaws today and doing a bit of tidying and pruning in the garden then noticed that the drain off the kitchen sink was blocked, eventually lifted main manhole lid to find blockage and you could read the makers name in the s--t packed inside, anyway long story cut short all sorted now and I have washed my hands and arms twice in neat domestos and showered and I still stink.

Lesson for today would be don't use the loo as a dustbin.

Tried plastering over the cracks ( literally) in an upstairs bay window. I know the theory, getting the right mix, hawk to trowel (and not the other way around) etc BUT, a plasterer I will NEVER be!

Four non working marker lights, four different faults, only one defunct bulb amongst the problems!

will buy led lorry markers next time methinks

Fitted a 150 watt flexi solar panel and wired it in to the E-Box so that the lcd display shows the amps. Thanks to A & N for the info and German ebay for the savings (y)

Decided to check thermal switches in rads, left van running for yonks (2.5td ducato), fans never cut in so just to be safe I wired in a bypass so when I see a big hill (the Pyrenees this year) I am ready to switch them on in anticipation. Had to stop 5 times last year then wait for nightfall, nearly 40 deg in the day, although that was in an older van don't want to take any chances.
Plonker that I am put new radiator in earlier this year, checked both switches with a kettle, they worked but should have changed them, sat in traffic jam last week on M1 temp gauge started to climb but no fans then either, made me nervous, bit like this forum.
