Spent 8 hrs yesterday assembling an American made oak, kitchen, butchers block !!
Instructions in American :) and not very clear. My back gave out after 4 hrs,so,decided to put half assembled unit on dining table to complete.
Great idea until it was finished and too heavy to lift off on my own (Carolyn's just had new knee) so had to get next door neighbour to help.
All done now,and really an asset in kitchen as a movable work surface with a lot of storage space. (y)

Finished installing wheel cylinders & rear flexible pipe. adjusted shoes, bled whole system, adjusted & greased wheel bearings, Refitted wheels then had to find a torque wrench that'll go to 130lbs/ft :( Adjusted hand brake cable but something isn't right somewhere as both adjusters are near end of travel yet shoes are adjustedspot on. It is like the cables are a shade too long ? Still ,all works ok.
Took out for a test & all working ok. Stroke of luck.(y)

BBQ point on n/s so no lugging bottles about.

Since my Dometic fridge has been underperforming I took to using my coolbox in the garage.
I already installed a switched 12 volt socket off my Solar regulator output.

This works great until we go to bed and then we hear it running in the dead of night. So I decided a switch in the bedroom was the best solution.
I bought this switch on ebay that was claimed to be 16 amp rated but the wire is pitifully small . It is affixed with a self adhesive backing and I've put it where I keep my socks n sh*t

To be happy I've only used the wire to feed a relay coil. I happen to have a number of common Fiat 30 amp red relays so employed one of these as they're well priced.

Fixed a 100w solar panel, controller and wired up to new leisure battery.....well pleased with
this.

Not sure it qualifies as fixing , but I ironed 7 t shirts ,3 pairs of shorts and 2 pairs of jeans this morning.

I always get my own clothes ready for my holidays. I don't trust my wife to do it since she forgot to pack any trousers for a weeks holiday in Tenerife about 10 years ago. We were only in a small place where the shops were rubbish and I had to buy and wear these awful baggy linen slacks which were brilliant white.

Boy I looked a prat for the whole week:D

What a great way to get you to sort out your own packing rotfl
Fixed for a fellow motorhomer to get his vehicle docs which were accidentally sent to me. My letter had been taped to the front of his jiffy bag. If he's on here went first class this pm.

Didn't do it myself BUT got the dentist to fix my tooth.

any one know how to lift quarry tiles just got a phonecal from a friend of mine I have a flour in a building I am knocking down 25qm of qwerty tiles there yours if you can lift them
bill

best to use a flat spade to lift the tiles -better than a chisel as a spade has a much wider face and surface area-also easier than bending down and easier on the knees.-Just make sure the spade is flat-when you shove it underneath(y)

Today I had a sort out some of the camper bits and bobs so I can find stuff when I need it, and:
  • I've fitted a fire extinguisher (powder) which I got from Aldi for £9 - it didn't come with a bracket though so I've used a bicycle frame bottle holder which I've screwed to the rear of the driver's seat box (behind the handbrake housing) so it's easily accessible both inside and outside; I've also fitted a fire blanket in it's case there too - this meant that I got to use my new cordless drill which worked a treat!

  • I'd previously removed the back plastic grill on the rear of the driver's seat base and replaced it with a board so today I adapted a plant trough to make a storage tub which I secured with a couple of hooks so it can be removed if necessary - this will be ideal for dog leads etc especially if they're a bit soggy!

  • I've put 2 cup/mug holders in the cab - one on each door above the speakers.

  • I've fitted some carpeting in the camper using a large 'dirt grabber' mat I got at a car boot sale at the weekend for £7! It's a nice charcoal/grey colour and is slightly mottled so shouldn't show the muck! It was a sod to fit though ... as the rubber backing is quite thick due to it being a proper commercial mat, not a cheapo one, and unfortunately the knife I was using 'broke' and I ended up making a 'nice' 1 inch slice/flap along the side of my left index finger! By heck it didn't half bleed!

  • I stuck on some anti-slip strips on both cab steps and also the electric step and the leading edge of the floor where you step into the camper via the side door.
NOTE TO SELF ... next time I need to fit carpet check the knife surround isn't likely to crack due to the pressure needed to cut the carpet ... and also don't try to get anti-slip strips to adhere by pushing them down using a 'bare' finger! Needless to say my right index finger has been 'sanded' and is blooming sore, so both my index fingers are 'suffering' tonight!!!

Now that I like!! Nice to learn something new. That is just perfect for feeding an inverter from batteries with double posts like mine (y)

Just make sure the cable is the other side of the nylon washer, not as shown in the top picture. The nylon washer has a collar that insulates the cable from the post and compresses it against the fuse
The nylon washer will allow 2 cables to be attached to each post, if you are careful, as I have done.
