What are you up to this weekend?

Winding down from yet another busy week at work, i'm off to Rye prison on Monday but not for long hopefully (y)

I have spent the week rewiring the van and fitting distribution board with individual breakers and a changeover unit for mains/inverter so all sockets can be off/mains or inverter. And the fridge can be used with the solar panels. As well as mains, gas & 12v. Used the inverter to heat up the hot water and that worked ok. Will finish off tomorrow. My next task to sort out is to replace the lead acid batteries for lipo’s that is proving a little thought provoking

We're fed up of the long haul to anywhere & back! One reason we're probably going to be moving back to England (from Cornwall you understand) :)
Realised Cornwall was toooo far out, lovely as it is. Just been on a whirlwind tour of several small towns around chard, not found anywhere we like enough yet.

That is so beautiful and thanx for taking the trouble to take the pix !

Tho my boy is quite pretty !

Doing what I've been doing most of the week, sorting out our 'inner' garden which was a right mess. It was originally a double width brick garage plonked right slap bang in the middle of the back garden, so we replace it with 2 single garages at the side and took the garage down to make an inner garden/bbq area and a pond out of the inspection pit!

We put some nice grey chippings down a few years ago (see photo) to cover the concrete base and make it look better, but I wish we hadn't as it's always a sod to keep clean so as it was yet again full of weeds/leaf debris, we've decided to lift it all. Rather than waste it all we thought we'd re-use it on the beds to keep the weeds down ... not sure if that was a good idea or not as it has taken ages to clean it all up/wash it etc. I've still got some to do but the bulk of it is done. The area is much more open now than it was then as we'd already cut back/removed a lot of the shrubbery/trees/branches etc to stop it being so enclosed.

I've also built some dry stone 'brick' walls in it too, to make borders as the original timber edging had pretty much rotted away and sorted out some other bits too; I've also reduced the height of part of the remaining garage wall to open out the view a bit ... that was blooming hard work as was cleaning up the bricks for the wall ... I think they used concrete as mortar!

I might take tomorrow off!!

No vanning this weekend, had a prior appointment where I got to see the terminal Ileum, thought tonsils were next! Will refrain from posting pictures, have learn't that you shouldn't trust anyone with the title Mr, especially if they are wearing rubber gloves!
Well the OP did ask.

At home. Ralph's working on Pug. Tomorrow I'm cooking a huge leg of lamb , roast potatoes and veg. Mmmmmm

Sat in shock after my best mate who was on his brothers stag 'do' in Newcastle had to come home because his wife Tracy, Angela's best mate, was found dead this morning.

Bl**dy hell! I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling! My sincere condolences.

We are taking a bikers rideout to the Holocaust Centre near Ollerton tomorrow. The guest speaker is Eva Schloss, Ann Franke's step sister. Should be very interesting, if not a little upsetting.

How tragic Paul, deepest condolences to you all.

Well we went to Braid Farm for the rally as hadn't been able to get hold of either the DA or the regional office but was told the rally is next week! Not according to either the magazine or the website...

Stayed on the 5 site and had a fantastic view of the planes for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain - Spitfires, Lancasters etc. You always see parachutists when staying there and there were also plenty of them as well. Great weekend.

Very relaxed @CWH .... lots of places especially along the western/North Western coasts. Stunningly beautiful sunsets along there. No problem wilding and if you take the time and just ask any local farmer/landowner then you will be welcomed. The roads are narrow but mostly really quiet with tons of spots to stop overnight and most of the towns/villages have somewhere to stop. Pubs will allow you to stop as long as you offer them some business.
Discovered this one last night..... it's delightful.
Come on over, you'll enjoy the craic.

Very nice Paul, I love mine too and daughter loves hers. Trouble for me is mine is set up for hillclimbing so not very user friendly on public roads (hard suspension and race seats with four point harnesses) so when I spotted this one on evilbay for peanuts I chucked a bid in and won it for pocket money.

Well we got home earlier today having spent a very relaxing couple of nights at RNAS Yeovilton and a cracking display it was too.

It must be twenty years ago I last saw Vulcan flying at Army Air day at Middle Wallop but this was even more special as she landed deploying her parachute brake.

I briefly met Khizzie (Hi Roy ) and spent a very pleasant evening with Les who brought his child bride with him... @Debs ....

Saw lots of stuff like this.............
