What are you up to this weekend?

Travelling down to the Lee Valley campsite at Sewardstone, Chingford on Sunday, which we are using as a base for visiting my sister who lives in Primrose Hill in London.
She is recovering from a major cancer op that she had on 2nd Jan this year. Not a great start to the New Year for her.
This will be the first leg of our onward journey to Morocco.
Two Garry's in Morocco, that could be confusing. D'ya mind if we call ya Bruce?

It's very unusual to have 2 Garry's spelt with 2 "R"'s. Even when I put my name on documents, texts or e-mails (Garry) the replies always come back with "Hi Gary".
Nearly every V5 document in my name has had to be returned to have my Christian name amended from Gary to Garry.
I'm guessing that the Welsh are called Bary, Lary and Hary? :giggle:

Lots of Welsh Garrys when j was in school all with 2 rs
Fashions change

Finishing off my MarTech rear semi air installation on our Adria ..... Removed one bump stop yesterday, the breaker bar that has need sat idly in the shed for a few years came in handy! It's taken more time to sort the wiring, run the cables, alter existing switches etc than it did to do the bump stop replacement!

Are you giving up?
Hi Helen, unfortunately I have a few medical issues that will prevent me renewing my C1 later this year and may also take me off the road all together in due course. We will see how things develop and may go for something under 3500kg.
Meanwhile, I understand you have been having your own health problems and wish you a full and speedy recovery... take care.:hugs:

That's a shame, I hope you can carry on driving.

We are going to The Food Warehouse 🇮🇸 for a few days.

Stopping overnight in a guesthouse c/w curry house at Gatwick for our first sleazy jet flight in the morning. We bought those flights from £27 advertised, which by the time you actually get a ticket is 6x. Hope its not as bad as Ryanair that we will never use again after getting ripped off on a ski break :censored:

There is a winter service 2x per week direct to Akureyi where our BiL & SiL live, otherwise Luton to Reykjavik then a long drive, if the roads are open. SiL has a busy itinerary for us that we don't know what is involved. They have 2 airbnb.

There are a pod of Orca in the fjord at present. A new thermal spring spa created when a tunnel was driven through the hillside. Lots of waterfalls to see.

Mývatn Nature Baths and Húsavík are other places with thermal baths that are natural, unlike the artificial Blue Lagoon where tourists go. BL is waste water post electricity generation, not natural out of the ground.

We will work out the best way to take the MH in 2026 and do a 6 week tour of 🇮🇸

There was humpback breaching in the outer end of the fjord when I was there some years back. Just got a photo of the splash with my telephoto zoom. Some guy was showing me his perfect shot taken on his phone. Grrr!

My weekend involves feeling sorry for myself. 🤧

He didn't get an injection this morning! He's been referred to orthopaedics as it's a torn tendon. He's already had the one on his right shoulder done - he's falling apart!
You need to trade him in for a younger model ::bigsmile:

Well. We were on our maiden voyage. Van loaded. Disclok andClutch claw in place. Drivers seat turned and locked in place. Security straps on the doors. Big dug on hand.
Spent a most enjoyable evening in our drive , practicing everything before we go anywhere for real !
What we learned...
We're gonna need more Guinness...
