What are you up to this weekend?

According to the weather forecast manning the pumps by the look of it. :xlaugh: By Monday morning they have forecast that we should receive equivalent to 6 months rainfall for the region , 200m2. No idea where they get that from as I've never seen that amount here except when we had a Gota fria.

should have read "mm".:xgrin:

Got the in laws coming round for long Crimbo weekend , looking forward to it , lovely people ! Both in their eighties , fit as butchers dogs !

Present exchange Fri with my family. Getting BanHam ready on Sat. Off to youngest daughter on Xmas morning for breakfast then off to Setthorns for Xmas day til the 27th. In laws coming for Xmas day lunch which should be fun. We have had a trial run cooking roast in the oven already but may still have to cook the turkey at least, the eve before. As the new forest is lousy for any mobile signal I will take this opportunity to thank you all for a great first year on MHF and a Merry Xmas.
Michael

Tomorrow I'm retailing the part of the kitchen floor I had to dig up last week to fix a split water pipe (insurance (esure) wouldn't cover the repair as the pipe was "not accessible" Oh Please!!). Filled the hole and re-concreted the floor this evening. Looks like Mum is being discharged from hospital tomorrow so its all systems go for the traditional family Christmas day and we can't have a hole in the kitchen floor on Christmas day can we? Saturday? Not got a Scooby as to what I'm doing but it won't involve work of ANY description!

Happy Christmas everyone.

Meeting my son at Heathrow tomorrow he is staying for a few weeks so looking forward to that...Merry Christmas.:xThumb:
Where is he flying in from? Louisa is flying in from Boston via Toronto.

Nipped down to Paignton .. taxi driver for ma n pa (aka wrinklies) ... squeezed in here for a few days over crimbo...
Although it doesn't look like it...
It was 'kin tight getting in... like an inch each side!!!...
the road is steep.. single track, overhanging low trees and a brook running at side... a gazillion manoeuvres to get thro gate.. in the dark... moved it tighter over this morn...
Getting out will be interesting!.. ;(

The pic does not do justice ;)

Camping-in MH-outside mother-law-house ready to 'do' Christmas for her as she's on her own now! Then off to France-house sitting!

Cleaning day today, tomorrow baking morning, sausage rolls and mince pies then taking some to oldest daughter and her partner and dropping off their pressies. Christmas day youngest and her partner coming for dinner and staying over. I've bought a pool table to keep them occupied. First Christmas my kids haven't been together.:xsad:

We have a family Christmas though trying to keep it fairly low key (some hope.......) Can't wait for the New Year though - it is so commercialised nowadays that it isn't that enjoyable any more. would love to just go away in the van somewhere but that apparently is prohibited

Keeping fingers x'd that both wife & elder daughter travelling separately & safely to Gatwick to enable them to catch their flight tomorrow evening & the weather doesn't affect it.

No real plans.
Just the two of us this year so I expect we will celebrate our wedding anniversary tomorrow by having a curry delivered from our local excellent Indian restaurant.
Christmas morning will be a family tradition of a salmon and scrambled egg brunch and then at some point I expect we will go for a walk around our lovely village with maybe a short stop in the local for a pint (or two) followed by a late christmas day lunch/early evening meal.

We're up to our neck in Portuguese wine, having had a day before Crimble Eve, Sunning in the 'er, Sun in the Algarve and ready to do..............................................BUGGER ALL!!!!!!

Happy Christmas or Feliz Natal as they say in the Office. (Everyone else has a different way of saying it.!!!)
