What are you up to this weekend?

Sitting in the sun at Loch Ness Shores, on our way home after touring the Western Isles.

Had a really good day today, got four segments "in the can" for the next series of Practical Motorhome TV (just call me One Take from now on :-) ). Fitted new Air/fuel ratio, water temperature and oil pressure gauges to the race car (tiny bit alarmed to see very low oil pressure at idle on hot engine:eek:), solved a minor coolant leak on same and done a fairly major weld repair job on a pair of Range Rover wheels. Earning money and having fun at the same time, costna be bad!

Weather permitting I'm taking the race car for a blat tomorrow morning before settling down to watch the F1 at 13.00 hours with a beer or three, Sunday lunch at about 16.30-17.00 hours.
D.

Here in very sunny and hot Les Mediterranees as the weather was not very good, cold and raining and not much hope of any sunshine for a few days so packed up fast ad headed south. Haven't regretted it one bit. 26 degrees here today and hotter tomorrow.

Returning to Tewkesbury abbey cc for Kates birthday weekend
It just happens that there's a food and drink festival on at the abbey Saturday and Sunday

Off to York Rowntree CC site ( yes I know but we like this site!) for the weekend ,taking the bikes and trying one of the cycle routes. Weather permitting !!:D

Up to Cumbria to visit elderly remaining parents before heading back to France on 30th June. Will be staying through to mid September if weather OK.(y):)

Planning!

After a number of local trips for a weekend of learning and last weekend's five day adventure I feel happy that I have learnt how most aspects of my van work.

So the next rip will be a longer venture, probably Scotland :)

So plenty to plan.

Off to France via the tunnel on Friday for 10 days of cheese eating bliss.

Assen to watch the MotoGP. I guess there will also be a few beers drunk along the way.

And you'll be waving flags for Number?

I will try and catch it on TV , if I can get the satellite to work, we are off to Belgium for the Belgian Masters Supermoto at Bilstain, will be rushing to the 10pm ferry tonight , and a steady day drinking tomorrow before we get on track Saturday.

Whats it like there in a MH , only ever been on a bike , and camped in the town football club.

I've always gone by bike in the past but the bike gets parked up for the weekend and we get the train from Groningen to Assen so we can drink. The ride from Calais is a real chore and even when we've gone from Harwich to Hook the riding is not much better.

After more years than I can remember we have accepted that it's a drinking/bike race weekend not a bike riding holiday so this year we are flying from Southend to Groningen.

I assume Motorhomes park up near the camp sites so it would be a fair walk into Assen and apart from teh amazing street party you would struggle to get to the better pubs in Groningen. I'd also be a bit worried about the motorhome getting damaged by the exuberant fans partying all night long.

I don't mind as long as the racing is good but if I was pushed for a number it has to be "46"

Can't fault you as I find that dedicated supporters of a rider of driver miss so much good racing because of 'tunnel' vision.

Only recently moved to Moto GP from F1 because;

They race in the rain.
Ride flat out.
Overtake using speed and skill.

F1 is just a PR circus now, penalties for drivers who attack, too many driver aids and too many 'spoilt' pilots.

Have fun and let's play Bingo!
