PICKING UP OUR FIRST MOTORHOME!!!!
Travelling up north by train. (tis free!! I'm a train driver!)

Sitting in a lovely pub called the Monkton Inn just outside Taunton ready for a test fit of some sat domes Friday from the bitzmeister. - @eddievanbitz. ;) If time I will have it fitted tomorrow, if not then I will just drink him dry of "special" hot chocolate and James will have a trip to the South Coast to do. (y)

First long trip away, from northern France to visit friends in Spain, then back home via .... Don't know, haven't planned, the road is ours ::bigsmile:

Annual pilgrimage to the Portsoy Boat and Traditional Music Festival. Good C.C. rally site and all the alcohol and foot tapping music you can handle. Always a great weekend then I'm off on a 1180 mile round trip to VanBitz to get an alarm and an internet sat dish fitted.

I am going to cash in some US dollars and treat myself to a few gold bars. Turbulent times then gold is the safe seat.

Mike....Picking up our first Motorhome.

We collected our first Motorhome from Hull two weeks ago.
Have already had one weekend away in it and about to head off for our second short trip this weekend.

I've been drooling over my new van so much I've not updated you folks here! She's only a Transit SWB conversion by Leisuredrive from 2007, and she's done 83,000 miles, but to me she's beautiful and gets me back into this great way of life!
This weekend I'm sorting out a few things that need doing before I can start taking trips. There was no water container just a pump and an empty cupboard - so I'll be going in to a campervan stockists to get that organised. Also the thetford doesn't seem to have been used for some time, so that needs sorting out too. Leisure battery is fine at least and everything else seems ok.

Can't fault you as I find that dedicated supporters of a rider of driver miss so much good racing because of 'tunnel' vision.

Only recently moved to Moto GP from F1 because;

They race in the rain.
Ride flat out.
Overtake using speed and skill.

F1 is just a PR circus now, penalties for drivers who attack, too many driver aids and too many 'spoilt' pilots.

Have fun and let's play Bingo!

I will slowly start to prepare the Hymer for its medical. It needs a HUGE clearout/tidy.

It will have a blood transfusion and replacement kidney and liver at Rui's hospital (€18 per hour). They will look at the brakes, grease the steering and prop shaft and check gearbox and differential oil levels etc.

They will also check the tubes carrying the vacuum from the pump to the brakes, gear change and diesel switch off valve. I suspect some leaks or a faulty pump.

The Hymer has passed every single inspection first time since I bought it and I am hoping it won't need too much this year.

Once it gets the all clear, I will be heading off to Balma, Toulouse as I need some washing done... ;)

JJ

I've thought of another place that you could park in Poole right by what is in my opinion the best restaurant in Poole. Let me know if you would like me to PM you the details.

When I go across the Brownsea island I leave my car in a pub car park adjacent to the island ferry, dont know if this does motorhomes over night parking.
