Well I’ve found the kind of house we both like

There are some cracking rural places about us
Similar prices to lorger in D & G
The downside is if you ended up without access to a car you would really struggle
Do know folk in the more remote areas that had to give up some very nice places when they got older

It could be that being a semi-rural area other more remote properties put their rubbish in a 'communal' bin which the property owner has given permission to be left on his parking area.
It’s fairly Rural down there. Definitely not semi.

I don’t want to spend more than £350,000
Nice one just came on the market today, only about 1 mile from town centre but middle of the country down a private lane shared by one other house and access for farmer field. If i was in the market for a house I'd seriously consider this due to location and being a nice house.

Probably in the snow belt area too, no road clearing I bet. That bank looks a little risky? Is it stable?
With price comes upsides and down sides. One collection a month, no near hospitals not such fun!

WOW

We have open fields on two sides and nearest neighoubors are the other side of the lane but only a mile from a town centre, best of both worlds.
Chip shops not bad either

All in all its a not bad little aire , dog excercise field, black waste dump , not far from the beach ...although the vans are a little close together 😁

Nice!

I'd be seriously tempted but I've just heard another complaint has gone in from another resident about him today, so a while longer and a bit more rope and he'll hang himself soon enough.
He/they do not have a residencia, they have been here full time for over a year now. (She is back in the UK at the moment) He drives a Uk reg sar on a uk license, its MOT runs out on the 23rd of Feb and whenever he goes out in it he comes back p****ed.
Sooner rather than later he will get pulled up.
Before coming here they apparently rented a residential caravan on a site somewhere out here-they were kicked off that site.
It's just a matter of time.....
Are they Owners or Tenants ?

If they are tenants, then a persuasive call to the owner may ensure the tenancy is not renewed when it comes up.
But you may need to promise the Landlord that you'll find him the next tenants to move in, the day the other lot move out, so it does not cost him time or money.
(Changing tenants normally costs a landlord about 6-8 weeks rent)

Sadly they are owners.
Our group of bungalows ("park home" style units) are attached yo a smallish Spanish owned campsite across the road.
We pay the camp site ground rent and metered electricity.
There are a few site rules, quite reasonable and not many.
The camp site owner on occasion will have a quiet word but really I don't suppose there is much he can do.
He has had several quiet words with my neighbours already over the last year.
It probably isn't helped by the fact that these units are supposed to be holiday homes but many of us English are permanent residents here.

It looks like flat roofs?

One would be busy with the paint brush eh.
Look at the views you would have while doing it though, the house obviously needs work but not total renovation and for that money you can't go wrong, could have a nice wee CL in the grounds :)

I have a Scottish, Welsh and English Name. French ancestors somewhere back. Ive got to fit in somewhere .

When we moved my parking was near the top of the list of what we wanted. We ended up with something smaller and cheaper than we were really looking for in fact we almost didn't bother viewing but when we saw it all the wants were covered. I think that one looks a bit to remote from the photo but I would go and look at a few. Heres a pic from our front window.

Around here £100-150K cash is a 20% deposit for first time buyers.
I see you live in Greenwich. Do you know the Ashburnham arms pub ?
My wife’s Aunt Betty ran it for around 30 years from the 60s until she retired.
