Well I’ve found the kind of house we both like

I bought this for £37000 in 2000, there’s some up in the north in the country for 150k and less, maybe you and escape to country need to do some more research.
We have nice county view but we are not really in the country. Smallish 3 bed detached paid 58k in '86 probably sell for 450k or more now.

Rubbish, maybe down your way, its not escape to Sussex or wherever you live, it’s escape to the country.
Not rubbish Sussex has some lovely countryside and if I was going to escape to the country it would be Sussex or Kent.

For that money up here you'd get a nice house, not saying yours is any different, we have an average size 3 bed 60's house and we'd be lucky to get £150 for it.

I suppose the wage may reflect the price in your area.

Any 3 beds with a bit of parking?

Was it a buisness, just looking at the size of the dustbin
I think it’s semi rural settings lends it to a one bin Jobby.
It could be that being a semi-rural area other more remote properties put their rubbish in a 'communal' bin which the property owner has given permission to be left on his parking area.

Might be able to find you a single garage in Sussex for that, the chance of a nice place in the country for that is cloud cuckoo land, 750k - 1 mil will buy you a half decent place.
You said the above Lenny, chances are finding a nice place in Sussex for my budget is cloud cuckoo land but the programme is not called escape to Sussex, Devon or Wiltshire

Maybe the Escape to the country makers BBC are not in the real world, if it was up to them they would be charging 99 year olds as well for the licence, sh1t they are already trying that one.

What I’ve just proved to you is there are some beautiful places in the country for 150k.

It's that remote the bin is only empted monthly !
Good Golly! You lot don't know what remote is!.
If you have pets (especially a cat) it's too close to tbe road but it's a nice area with lovely countryside. Theres a canal runs along there close by Wrexham is a lovely little town- what's not to like?

Got to admit the view is great, but is it on a bus route etc. If someone was to lose their license etc it would probably mean selling up. Still love the country side though.

How far do you have to go for pint of milk?
8 miles each way but superb views and you soon get used to keeping plenty of supplies in :)

3 miles to a bus route but we may have a bus coming past the road end once things have settled down again. We do rely on deliveries and our "Fish Van Man" who also has greengrocery boxes (need to preorder) and he'll get milk and anything else urgent if you ring him before 9 am the day he is due to call. Luckily I have never needed to do that - yet!

The greens boxes are brilliant, you never know what you will be getting so it means you get some things you have not tried before. He also often has fish that are out of the ordinary. This week we spent £17 on kippers, cod and plaice (no greens as I have a lot left from last week) but last week I had a box of veggies, salmon, kippers, turbot and halibut all for £27. There is always enough fish to do 8 portions.

I'm pretty sure it is on a bus route actually, though how frequently the buses pass I wouldn't like to say.
I think if i remember correctly there is a railway station in Wrexham

I was talking to a friend up in the Highlands yesterday, she lives on the edge of a village just north of Inverness. They now get a twice or thrice weekly delivery of milk and orange juice (I dont know what else is available) in real glass bottles!
What ancient memories that brought back.
Perhaps some enterprising soul does something similar from Welshpool.

I've fallen in love with this one though and less than two miles from mine. Need that lottery win.

Check out the water feature (Last Pic)

NICE

Not my style but lovely riding country around there.what is that room for in picture no.31?

Glass milk bottles are on the up! We have them to save the planet, not sure we’ll succeed in that though! They’re dearer than plastic so never going to catch on big time in my opinion, unless folk can be persuaded to change their buying habits,or the Gov make it worth their while.

Quite a few I'd think depends what budget you have and where you want to be, also depending what size of parking.

Heres three that possibly meet your criteria.

1st one is in a lovely location on the outskirts of Dumfries,
2nd one is just outside Dumfries heading east towards Gretna
3rd one is small village to the south heading toward |Castle Douglas.

You could probably get 4 beds around the same price depending on location, or if you want to be in town you would easily get 3 bed with parking for under these prices.

That’s not a bin it’s a mini skip 😂
When i was in the Highllands where living up long stoney tracks and farm roads often a mile or more from the "scaffy wagon" ( refuge lorry) emptying point.
It was common practise to have a lshort loop of binder twine (strong string from a bale of hay or straw) through the handles of our wheely bins The weelie bin was then tilted to a near horizontal position, the string loop was then placed around the ball hitch abd the wheelie bin towed to the nearest collection point.
