THIS week I bought

Back from Malvern our first Motorhome show for about 4 yrs. Loads of tat purchased including :
- Replacement Moroccan mat
- Replacement carpet runner 3m long fitted perfect
- LED bulbs lights with remote
- Fiamma awning skirt, very cheap hidden under table, will never ever use probably
- Couple of pillows, replacements
- Telescopic wash pole, replacement

Managed to resist the
- collapsible kettle,

Yesterday, I bought a 12v 0.6L travel kettle for €19. We normally use a 240v/120v one when parked / on a ferry / in a hotel etc., and fill a 1L flask before we leave, for drinks on the road (as well as filling our travel mugs for immediate drinks). However, our 240/120v one died last week. So, when I spotted the one I bought yesterday I was fairly pleased....on two fronts. One, because it's small enough and light and very much like the one we had before and, two, because it was cheap....for France!!! However, my happiness just ended after reading that a 12v kettle can take 15-20 minutes to boil !!!! Is that really true? Please say it's not so :pray2: I'm going to try it out soon, so I'll know for sure, but just wondering if i should dampen my enthusiasm a little beforehand 🙄

we fil our 12v Kampa kettle up just enough so it fills our 2 cups once boiled

i’d say no more than 5 mins

6 Kg of gas...........think it's Calor? 1st one i've bought. £31. no idea if that's about right, cheap or expensive.....and you know what, i ain't bothered;)

Twice as long if it's cold  best to fill it with boiling water to start it off.

Hmmm ... she might need a new watch as 5 mins is quick so I'm sceptical of that time .... you need to carry out a proper test and report back your findings! :giggle:

As a penance you must immediately go out and buy a 12v kettle and suffer having to wait a loooooooooooooooooong time for your morning cuppa! :giggle:

Noooooooo

and please don’t let Val know there as such things as 12v kettles or as if by magic, 2 will appear and maybe more, to join the 3 other kettles we have already in the moho 🤣

At breakfast time, I prepare and cook my porridge, fill the kettle, turn it on and eat my porridge.
By the time I've finished eating, the kettle has boiled and I make my coffee, perfect timing!

Which is more than can be said about this post as I wrote it at the beginning of the kettle subject but forgot to post it!

Had one in my lorry. Takes a while! Not the cleverest thing to do but I stopped about 20 minutes before I needed it. Filled, plugged in then stopped after another 20 minutes. It was well secured so no chance of falling over.

That method had crossed my mind! :D I haven't tried it yet but will try to do so later and see how I get on :)

When I was trucking, I had one of those curly things that you plonked into the top of your mug and stuck the other end in the cigarette lighter until it boiled.
Ok on motorways but sloppy on bumpy roads, gave up in the end until vehicle stopped 😁

New glass for the cooker as Madame LIW accidentally turned on the electric hob with the lid down. Doh!
I also noted the little rubber bumpers at the front, one missing, the other about to fail. Saw these in Camping shope for nearly £20 quid:oops:. However, I have now bought some for a still extortionate £3.70.

Yesterdays purchase of a 50mm layflat hose for the grey waste arrived......

What amazing engines, I was thinking that's a very sturdy door for a garden shed then seen the machines they are great 👍

Techno ... what happened to all the Lego and other model stuff you were doing previously?

I guess the gate with the hardware comes in at under £140 and much better than many readymade offerings especially as its 4ft wide
