THIS week I bought

I bought a turkey baster. Why?

To evenly distribute oil onto the chain of my V-Strom 1000. I have stopped using aerosol chain oil and have begun to use a bottle of Scott Oil I was given. I don't have the Scottoiler though.

The baster allows a small amount of oil to be distributed onto the chain as the wheel is turned by hand. A small paint brush allows the oil to be spread across the chain and into the side plates....

3 x tubs of dripping for my Mum!

Well hubby went to the local Co-op around noon and came back with this load of discounted grub ... total cost £14.83! One of the doughnuts is now sitting on a plate next to saying 'eat me' :tounge: .... I'm resisting at the moment and letting the sarnie I've had settle for a while but it's taking a lot of will power! :giggle:

I'll stick with my £1 turbi-towel from Poundland!

Got to admit it was a splurge but I put my Quidco towards it and I've waited a year as it's been out of stock for so long. Let's hope it's worth it!

ordered a new mattress for the house it will take until the end of November to be hand made. Lets hop it comfy 🛏️💤

And what fun it was.

About eight of us, one paid and made their way to a rear exit, pushed open the exit bars, in the days before they considered alarming them, and half the street piled in!!!

And we sat totally away with Buck Rodgers, Ming the Merciless, The Lone Ranger and Tonto, there was a weekly episode about an American submarine fighting in the Pacific, Dick Tracey and and a series involving helicopter, maybe Whirlybirds.

Life was full of adventure.
Ha ha, great memories of those antics, and films too TOM. (y)
JockandRita enjoy the film , I still call it going to the ‘pictures’ ::bigsmile:
So do I Carolyn. The term Flicks was a slang term my dear old Dad used, which I remember with affection. I think it came from the old black and white films from the early days, where they tended to "flicker".

Edit................... Just found this.

Top Gun Maverick was absolutely brilliant, and on a par with the original nearly 36 x years ago. The hearing aids rapidly became redundant, upon entry to the auditorium. 🔊 🔊 🔊 ......................

Popeye. Any cheerie news Griff, from your reinstated consultant's appointment? Fingers crossed here, (as always). 🤞

Hampshire Lad. Are you out of surgery Brian, but still under the effects of the anesthetic? How did it go? Well I hope. (y)

Scout, how's things today Phil. Better for you I hope. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I bought two of these little sods from eBay after unsuccessful visits to both Screwfix and Wickes to match it. Now the damned Elddis table folds properly and the legs lock in place and the bungee is redundant!

Make sure she buys the right one. I see there are various types. Some look as if they have a flimsy handle and others are no more than a glorified teapot with inbuilt strainer.
I am still using the stainless steel, whistling kettle, made in Germany that I bought at a shabby Bulgarian flea market 18 years ago.
When the flames are heading to my house it’s one of the things I’ll have in my evacuation box.

Just tested these on our electric bikes. Great handling on corners and better grip. Slightly noisier but not too much
Very happy and should be less prone to punctures due to the kevlar band.
