THIS week I bought

My wallet is feeling poorly

Tunnel crossing for out ward trip to Static for 2 vehicles (yes taking car as well as motorhome as need tons of stuff for Static in France)

Ferry crossing back from Static for two vehicles
Crit'air sticker ordered for Steph's car so we can go to Bordeaux shopping

Ordered two Sanef tags via Eurotunnel (cheaper costs that way) especially as we are both driving alone in RHD vehicles

Taxed Steph's Car and my motorhome (OK Motorhome is Disabled so Free)

Just need to pick best time to get some pocket money now

Seems like a bargain -- if it works :-)

Just the little issue of finding somewhere to drill a 20mm hole in the van's steel roof without detracting from the internal aesthetics!

Bloody hell that is cheap, hopefully it performs.

I figured if the scooter wasn't going on a particular trip, I might as well put the rack to some use.
So I bought this for any extra "stuff" I wanted to carry with me.

Looks like it might be designed for installation in a utilities cabinet of some sort. When separated from the stainless steel plate which acts as a ground plane -- not needed if you are putting it on a steel roof -- it needs a 20mm hole drilled in the roof. It includes a rubber seal and the aerial itself is 4" in diameter. It came from Cheltenham, so the other half reckons it's ex-GCHQ spook kit :-)

I’m interested in this, hopefully you will post how this works when you’ve got it fitted.(y)
I had looked at it and thought I would fix it to a piece of ally box section and then stick that to the roof, so only need to drill a smaller hole (I’m thinking for the future as I haven’t got a twin antenna mifi yet)

Just a thought, to avoid a hole in the roof, could this be fixed in the upper fridge vent? There is a hole there already through to inside the Moho.

Bought this a few weeks ago and found it very useful. Have been able to check motorhome starter battery and cranking system, voltage and status and vehicle charging system. This model also has the facility to store results and print function via computer. Has plenty of other functions as well. Amazon Prime £46, free postage next day.

Bought one of these Digital Multimeters a few weeks ago as a backup for a not so feature packed one I’ve had for years in the home. I wanted something that I could use for load testing a leisure battery and this is perfect. Has all the functions I require, Auto ranging, AC/DC voltage and current, backlit LCD, large display, non contact voltage alert, the list goes on and all for less than £20. Comes with alligator clips and battery as well. Liked it so much, I’ve just bought another one. One for home, one for motorhome, job done.

A new roof for our bungalow, scaffolding put up yesterday.
7 men turned up at 8-30am this morning, stripped old tiles, battens and roofing felt.
3-30 pm new felt, battens and 95% of roof retiled and they will finish the rest tomorrow.

I am planning to exactly the same myself. What size is the box? how have you attached it to the rack?

The only problem with that is that it would only 'receive' on that side of the camper, whereas on the roof it would be able to receive from all directions ... I'd be tempted to attach the bracket it is mounted on to the side of a solar panel frame (obviously can't do that with a semi-flex panel!) using Sikaflex or something and just run the small cables through where your solar cable goes if there's room, or alternatively attach it to something else that 'sticks up' already on the roof! :D

Just found a data-sheet on it:

Here is the link to ebay:

L 1020mm x H 435mm x W 430mm

I drilled 4 8mm holes and bolted it through the floor of the box to the rack.

It only weighs about 9kg.

Sat nav, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, doggy dri bag, soft dog crate, new crockery for van, several rolls of rubber matting, amazing stick on plastic hooks, basic provisions for van (tea, coffee etc) membership of caravan and motorhome club.......28sleeps::bigsmile:::bigsmile:::bigsmile:

With our layout we have a long sofa down each which is great for what we want, but when relaxing with a cuppa or a drink there's no where really to put a cup or drink down without getting the table out so I have bought a couple of these little tables that clip onto the back of the cab seats.

I know what your saying and I was expecting this but I know one of the ferries cost nearly £2000 and I guess the canary’s are a place not many people go in their motorhomes so there is not a lot of advice on touring there so for me as a one off it’s I think worth the money I know there are people out there that could probably do it for a lot less but I am not one of them ,horses for courses . I would also like to go to Morocco but would not go there on my own so would pay for someone’s experience again. (y)

It makes no difference if it cost £2 or £20k if you want to go and are happy to pay then go for it,
I would hate to think how much I spent on holidays over the years and with two kids but I don’t regret a penny of it.
Hope you have a loverly time...

@WhiteCheyenneMan I saw these in Aldi the other day. Have you tried it out yet?

I thought about getting one, but my van height is 2.85M and I wasn't sure it would rest properly against the top edge when it was leaned against the van.

Looked like good value

And how are you getting on with it?

Wyn
Had a little strum but been too busy to play at the moment, will have a proper go when I get back off holiday as it's been donkeys years since I've played one. :D

Should we take bets on how long it will be before the lounge table top is replaced with a smaller one???:D;)
