Ready for our French/Spanish trip!

One of the toys I bought from my first and only visit to Lidl was an infrared thermometer so I can shoot it all my radiators and see that they are under performing . Do I need it do I hell. :giggler::giggler::giggler: where is the smiley that lets you slap yourself when you need it most! But it was only £7.99!

Bought a Satfi satelite dish and fitted it toaday. bit of a fiddle getting it neat and tidy. but all done turn on the controller and a minute later it is locked on and there is a beutiful clear picture in HD.. Much better than trying to pnce about putting up aerial pole and finding where the nearest transmitter is, And I can use it in Northen France as well. Wife likes it because it is one switch and that is that. It is a UK use Astra setup only, but I do not want it much abroad anyway I could take the Maxview tripod one ,but it is a pain to find the satellite with.

A space saver spare wheel for the Subaru, when will this crazy idea of tins of gunk instead of spare wheels end. The one from Subaru is nearly £400 :Eeek: this was £149 . Due to arrive tomorrow, hope it fits

Wow - it's even been marked "SPARE TIRE" in the factory. That must be why they charge nearly £400.

PS - Are you absolutely certain it is the RHD version?

The best of it is, the well for the spare is still under the floor of the boot filled with a polystyrene former holding the "Gunk" and towing eye etc just need to lift that out and see if the new spare fits. May need some packing of some sort.

We bought the Honda space saver tyre for the Jazz which was supplied with only the gunk. Honda's kit included a replacement polystyrene former to hold the tyre. I think there was room under the boot mat for a full size spare but the space saver was cheaper.

Yesterday we 'bought' a full service for the camper ... £90 labour (they do a very thorough job too!) and about £100 parts plus VAT so £228 ... don't think that was bad! (y)

Today we went to Morrisons and simply could not resist another 5-pack of their custard filled doughnuts ... mmmmmm .... we've had one each so far ... two for tomorrow ... but its gonna be a fight to see who gets the 'odd one'!!! :D

Today we 'bought' a full service and MOT. Wonder if we used same place. Pass no advisories.

We always go to our local garage, Northmoor in Cottingham. Used them for years and years and they certainly look after our vehicles (and us!) very well. The only thing they have to do is make sure they don't book in coachbuilt MHs for work which requires them being lifted in winter as the 'lift' is outside so if the weather's bad it's a no-no!

Not tried there we used Hull Van Centre there lift is inside. given the road diversion in Cott it might have been easier to get there.

Hubby can drop the vehicle off at the garage and walk back home within 10 mins, when he goes to pick it back up he takes the dogs with him for a walk over the fields which shouldn't take as long but is usually double as they keep running off so he has to chase them! :D

Thanks Minxy Girl, yes TinaL is more conscious of calories than I am. I know many think of as a meal replacement,(natural slim fast) and yes they are filling so I can see that happening. The Morning Coffee replacement looks like a great idea, and the daily Boost one looks good also. (but I do like my morning coffee)
We have only just tried it for the last few days, most recipes call for greens like Kale or Spinach, so plenty of Iron, and minerals from the seeds, so although yes, there are calories involved it must be so good for you on a regular basis.
Ingredients this time of year not cheap either, Blueberry s, Cranberries, Raspberries, Strawberries and the like as they are out of season, but cant wait for spring/summer when we harvest our own.
Its also helping me with my Diverticulitis problem, that I only found out I suffered from recently.
Only time will tell if it makes the remarkable improvements that its supposed to, but I will report back on that later.
Best wishes
Les & TinaL
Just saw this, I'd recommend getting a meal replacement shake called Purition - just drinking a glass of Macadamia & Vanilla with a small banana added, put the milk, purition and banana into the bullet blend for 1 minute and its done - its seeds & nuts rather than the artificial stuff, very filling and I have it with a mug of herbal tea (normal morning drink).

Good for cooking paella if not.
They really should have a “paella” setting, so flip onto their back. Over a roof mounted gas ring. Don’t know whether to contact the patent office or Oyster!:D

Great idea, where from?

From Amazon. An Ancel BA101 Battery / charging system tester

View attachment 205920

I am about to fit a second Leisure battery. this looks like a great tool. plenty of reviews to watch on Youtube. Quite an education.

Just ordered one from Amazon myself, should arrive tomorrow sometime. I have been getting some great advice off funsters recently who are far more knowledgeable than me on starter and leisure battery issues. Thought I would get one of these testers to have a play myself before I splash out on a new starter battery.
Question - Have you used this tester yet and, if so what are your thoughts.

Put the heating on in your MH for a while then point the thermometer at it and see where the heat is escaping .... should prove interesting and keep you occupied for hours! :D

Mine that size fitted to the house here receives nothing.:):(
Good grief I am rather surprised ... and disappointed too, have you got a decent LNB apparently a good one can make a lot of difference .... they say

Just to tempt you even more they do lovely sliced cooked bacon on the deli counter which is about 84p per 100g and tastes better than any of the more expensive meats they do. Double yummie!

My Ancel BA101 12v Battery Tester arrived yesterday and it seems my starter battery, "out of the vehicle" test is good. I will carry out a proper drop test when I get it back on the camper, which is in storage miles away. I'm just trying to rig something up to test a leisure battery, that's been on trickle charge in my garage for ages, to see if that's any good. Need to do a load test, I've been told. It's all a bit of a learning curve at the moment but, bound to come in handy at some time.
