RWG Mobile

They don't answer the phone, tried for hours in the past, email them and tag as important and they will reply within 24hrs or so, have a feeling RWG is just a couple of people and a billing server.
This.

Emailed them yesterday and got a response within an hour. I've recently ordered their Big Data Sim which I intend to use on a forthcoming trip to France. They confirmed that this is all that's required and not the Global Sim that many people seem to be ordering. The Global Sim is for countries outside of the EU. Their regular Data Sims are good for EU roaming.

I am confused. Do we think the normal (i.e. non Global) Data Sim allows roaming in EU?

And has anybody tried putting the phone sim in a Mifi?
Thanks

I can see that renewing abroad would be feasibly providing you have no medical issues but if you do DVLA may want a test such a treadmill stress test. I wonder what happens in that case?

Thé way I see it although I am possibly wrong is your C1 will expire February 24. Whilst you wait for the DVLA to deliberate on your health query you will be able to drive in the UK up to 3500 but won’t be able to drive abroad. Due to no C1 or actual licence in your possession.
Seems like you are going to have some difficult decisions.

This is the address I emailed yesterday with a very quick response....

Thanks again, they responded to that email address within an hour 🙂

However, we have been using our mifi since November and have never exceeded 20Gb pm. RWG inform me that we have used 200Gb in 10 days.

Cancellation requested. Buyer beware.

Yes, 100%. This was what I emailed them about yesterday and they confirmed that a Data Sim would work within the EU and a Global Sim is only required when travelling outside of the EU.

I would agree with this as the only emails I have received have been from a guy called Tim Cymorth who is based in the Balkans

It's 3 days since I sent them a very polite email, still no reply
I despair with them - I ordered a new SIM on 26th August and still haven’t received it and when it didn’t arrive in todays post I emailed customer support at 13.00 hours today and still waiting for a response - 5 hours later - I am amazed some people say that they have had good customer service because in all my dealings with them it’s been shockingly poor

I stopped my payments in May and I want to restart it later this month so I contacted them via their contact form and got a reply within an hour.
And yes sim still active👍

I ordered a global data sim on 24th August and still haven’t received it. I also emailed them yesterday and got no reply. We go away next week, so I fear we won’t receive the sim in time, despite ordering well in advance. Disappointing that a company with a desirable product has such poor customer service.

Completely agree and we are in the same position going away next weekend and wanted the SIM for this trip same as you, they were both ordered with plenty of notice - but still radio silence for me - something isn’t right - maybe the one person who answers the emails and sends the SIMs out is away on holiday 🤣🤣

Yep. Very disappointing. I’m beginning to resign myself the the real possibility the sim won’t arrive in time and they won’t respond to my email. That means making alternative arrangements and battling to exercise my rights and recover the £28 paid. All unwanted and avoidable aggravation.

I’ve just gone onto their website to start another 200Gb for £18 subscription to add onto my existing global sim I had a while back. After reading this thread, I thought I would get a Vodafone sim for next trip in nov. the options are vf, ee or now global for +£17. 😲. Will be getting a phone 200 for next time 😉

Has the SIM card arrived yet? , mine still hasn’t and no reply to 3 emails and no pick up on phone 🤷🏻‍♂️ can’t help wondering if there are some serious issues in the background ?

On a related note. I'm going to order one tomorrow for our trip to Croatia and beyond. Will I need the global one for Bosnia/Serbia/Montenegro?

Hi. No SIM card and no response to email. I also see the global sim is now +£17 on top of the £18 200mb data sim, taking it to £35 now. All looking a bit strange to me. To be honest I’m not very confident about this and I’m told I’m normally a positive person. Im giving it until tomorrow night before going elsewhere and cancelling my order.

Yes I just noticed that, thanks for the info - fingers crossed for a response tomorrow
actually the cost of the Global SIM at £35 make the Tiekom SIM look a better deal - €39 with 200Gb roaming (UK France etc) and 400 GB in Spain.

That’s very true!

Do you there is a way of getting a Tiekom sim in time, bearing in mind we (and you I think) set off this week?

Unfortunately no, I seem to remember the last one I ordered taking about 8-9 days however if you are going to be in a site for a week or so in France or Spain you could easily get it delivered there

So is a week enough to order the TWG global data only sim, and will this be chargeable in Switzerland???
Mifi roof mounted Maxview aerial (unlocked) should work ok across France, Spain, Italy, Yes???

Based upon our experience that our SIM card finally arrived this morning (now trying to get it activated) which we ordered on August 24th, I suspect a week is cutting it fine. I understand their roaming includes Europe, but as Switzerland is not an EU member, I think it will be chargeable extra. Their web site says all EU countries are included in roaming.

It took just 24 hours to activate for me about a week ago, good luck! I ordered another sim on Fri, I'm now not expecting it to arrive before my trip at the weekend which is unfortunate.

I think we need to be careful when talking about RWG and all EU countries being included in roaming. That may be true of their phone SIM ‘bundles’ and the data element that is included, but I don’t believe it applies to the 200gb data only SIM on the EE or Vodafone networks - I’m sure a forum member had it confirmed by RWG when they managed to get through to them but I can’t locate the post. My own experience in Europe when my Global SIM subscription was changed without my knowledge to one of the EE/Vodafone ones certainly reflected that happening.

Hiya

This was the email I received from RWG Mobile when I questioned it and possibly the one you are referring to.....

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your email. That is correct, our Big Data bundle will work for travelling within the EU.

Best wishes,

And here's a link to their plans page where it clearly states that the Big Data Sim will work in EU

Thanks for that but it was someone else who was specifically told by RWG that the 200gb data only SIMS for the EE & Vodafone networks @£18 pcm were not suitable for Eurozone roaming and the Global SIM was the one to have. Although your email from them does confirm that their phone SIM ‘bundles’ with minutes and texts included do offer some data roaming - how much though, does ‘fair useage’ or a pro-rata amount apply as with most other operators?

There's another, much longer thread on here all about RWG and loads of people have said on that that RWG don't apply any kind of fair usage cap, which is the reason I and many others have bought their Sims. Hopefully that's true. I have only just received mine and haven't yet used it this month.
