My RWG Data SIM doesn’t work over here at the Isle of Man
I emailed customer services but again - no reply - they really are shocking in communication
I purchased a local pay as you go (Sure) but although it works ok it is expensive

content of my Email:
‘Hello Good Morning - I am in the Isle of Man and the SIM doesn’t appear to function
number Xxxxxxx
Can you please advise?
It was stated in the descriptions that the RWG mobile sims are all good for roaming‘

I bought it primarily for use in the UK but I did expect it to work in the Isle of Man

Perhaps you need the global sim to roam where you are as your outside of the UK.

Yes maybe so, it’s just so many others have said that their SIMs (non global) have been working in France and Spain
never mind it will do for the UK and when I go to Spain next year I may upgrade to a Global Sim

Hi just had confirmation that the voice sim with the 200gb data for £20 will work in France...too late now to order it ...

Data sims only work in the UK unless you purchase a global sim. 200gb phone sims include roaming as standard.

Isle of Man and also the Channel Islands are sometimes excluded from roaming, depends on the company, my Lebara won't roam to either.

Thanks I have asked them if I can upgrade to a Global SIM without actually receiving a new SIM ie: make the changes in the background - might work better even in the UK?

why do you not want to use a phone sim?
I assumed the Data SIM would be better as it’s only for the router and it was only £18 as opposed to the £20 - as pensioners every saving is important

But your now saying you want to change to a global sim at £28. How often do you travel beyond Europe?

Based on this reply from RWG to another poster
“The big difference is between data SIMs. VF/EE SIMs are standard data SIMs, provided by these two operators and can only work in the UK. To go to the EU and anywhere else in the world (incl. UK), you'll need to use our Global SIM. It is our own, built to overcome any roaming obstacle, without any usage limitations (depending on the size of your allowance), and gives real meaning to the phrase "roam like home". I would always recommend using this one.”

My understanding is that the Phone sims work in the UK and allows EU roaming.

The Data only sim can be UK ,using EE or Vodafone you choose, or if you want full roaming not just UK then you choose a Global SIM. I asked for a list of the countries that the Global SIM works in they sent me the reply below, I bought as was heading to Canada/USA where it worked fine for a month (y)

The Global SIM covers all countries except for North Korea, Iran, Iraq & Venezuela.
There are no age restrictions, fair usage limits or speed restrictions but we are subject to the performance of our roaming partners.
Best wishes

I really wish we'd had the Global SIM last year as it would have made Albania, Bosnia etc... easier:cautious:

This is more or less what I was told when I purchased my data sim for EU roaming. I was under the impression I could select my own network operator but this was not the case.
It is a big step forward for many users as we have been very restricted on the amount of data we could use before releasing ourselves from the clutches of the EU. This,in my opinion, will now open up the market for more competitive packages from different providers who are currently hiding the roaming limits and restrictions in the small print so as to mislead potential customers they are getting a better deal than they will receive.

Right RWG sim turned up today and I popped it in the Netgear, it’s working on Orange network ? Thought it was EE??

Also on the letter it’s saying about emailing them to activate the sim obviously it’s in the Netgear so cannot email.

Also have had a look for the RWG app but there seems to be a few so what one are others using please on an iPhone.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I emailed them stating my details and the phone number for the sim printed on the "credit card" holding the sim, they replied a few hours later confirming activation.

The RWG app stated that it was not available for my phone and could not be installed "Android".

Getting 35Mb on the Ile de Re this evening. RWG phone sim 200gb started working fine as soon as I left the tunnel.

RWG have emailed me to say that my recently purchased Global data SIM will expire at the end of the month and a replacement will be sent out. Only problem is (was) that we are currently touring Crete and Greece and not returning to the U.K. until mid June. They have now replied that they will arrange for the subscription to be extended until our return and a new SIM will be sent to the home address.

Question is, the current Global SIM, which has worked flawlessly for the past 8 weeks, is with iONLINE, what is it being replaced with? Time will tell.

Had this happened to us, we receive a NOW SIM card very similar to the standard phone sim from RWG. It has a number on the card but no odd APN details, it seems to use the Everywhere/eesure details. Works ok but so far only tested in the UK.

I'm slightly confused re billing dates, the FAQ states

Our bundles are standard monthly allowances which usually run from the 1st of each month and renew on the 1st of each month (although some customers may have different renewal dates)

Does anyone know If I buy a bundle today whether I fall into the 1st of the month billing cycle and therefore get charged another £20 on Tuesday or do I renew on 26th Aug and 26th thereafter?

Sounds the same as their sims if you buy say a 200gb sim today you can use 200gb up to the end of the month. Then on the 1st of the month you get a fresh allocation of 200gb but your next bill will be 26th of next month.

ok, thanks Lenny. I'll wait till Tuesday!

Anyone still using/getting any luck with RWG?
I’ve been on the phone to them for an hour now and all I’m getting is”please wait your queue position is two”

Moved my phone sim to them. Currently in Cyprus and it’s been flawless 5G since we landed.

No issues from me.

I haven’t rang them though, I use email and they normally reply in an hour.

After having their original 200gb ‘Global’ data SIM work flawlessly while in Greece/Crete and points en-route, the iONLINE one, I received a new SIM from them and it’s since been crap. They not only screwed up the account allocation by transferring it to a ‘standard’ data arrangement - Vodafone I think - but also haven’t been able to switch it back to ‘Global’. I’m binning it but might give them another go in the new year as I’d want to start from scratch again, otherwise it appears that it’s all too confusing for them to deal with!

In summary, the original product was great but their admin really lets the company down big time.

Nightmare to get hold of, they took 2 payments after I cancelled so sent them 3 emails all went unanswered 🤬🤬
Set up a dispute with Revolut where my account is and they sorted it in about a week.
Email apologising and that they will sort out a refund.

Just come back from a month in France, Germany, Austria.
Data sim worked brill all the time.

I’ve just ordered the 200GB FOR £20 sim for our upcoming trip. I’m tempted to get another in my husbands name, therefore giving us 400GB in total for £40 a month.Anyone else done this?

They don't answer the phone, tried for hours in the past, email them and tag as important and they will reply within 24hrs or so, have a feeling RWG is just a couple of people and a billing server.
