RWG Mobile

I also carry the IQ data sim as a back up Incase I run out of data on the RWG and cannot get a signal on the StarLink 👍

What I like about it is that you only buy when you need it - no monthly commitment- if you are not away every month no need to pay anything or if just away for a few days just pay £10 for a smaller amount. As you say , depends on your personal needs

This is the aspect I like.

Agree with the OP its not for heavy users but still stacks up well against Popit.

The £18 sim isn’t a phone sim is it , I think that’s the data only one with no roaming
Are you sure ? Having a problem in Europe at the moment but thought it was because I can't work out the APN thing

Do you have it sorted now?

I had to change mine, worked fine since.

Ion.otm

No password.

That’s the one I use that works.

I was told if that doesn’t work, use

Nowmobilenet

Originally it was setup with

Everywhere

That worked in the UK but not when roaming.

Hope that sorts it. 👍

Seem to have screwed up (?)
RWG got back to me saying Vodafone SIM doesn't work in Europe.

It’s been posted before that the data only sim only work in eu if you go for the global option which makes it dearer, that’s why I went phone sim route.

Mine did.

They really need to sort their admin out!

It’s as clear as mud. 🤦‍♂️
Haven't checked yet but don't remember seeing this when buying sim. Obviously wouldn't have bought it if I had .
Anyway off to buy Polish sim

That’s interesting, would you mind sharing what Polish SIM you go for please?

RWG SIM working well in Slovenia/Croatia area but can't remember which provider it is. Just the standard 200gb so EE I think.

Currently in Montenegro where it doesn't work but a SIM from the local kiosk cost 10 euros (£8.80) 500GB!!! for 15 days.

Trying to find a shop right now , may have to drive there .
My Vodafone service is using Plus at the moment but orange seems to be a strong signal too
I'll let you know

It's fine in EU. Most of the Balkans (Bosnia, Montenegro( Etc are not in EU. I wasn't complaining just commenting.

Have a look at post #125 above and the few that follow it.

I received conflicting information from RWG when I first had the ‘standard’ EE/Vodafone 200gb data SIM so cancelled it straight away. The 200gb Global data SIM worked perfectly, but with the price increase to £35 I wouldn’t go for it again. Just about to order their 200gb ‘Big Data’ phone bundle SIM for £20 as that appears to be the best option to put in a router for use in Euroland

The best bundle from RWG is the 200gb phone sim on ee it’s £20 and has worked flawlessly both in uk and around the eu. Speeds have been excellent.

Ps: I also used it in my iPad as data only and constantly tethered from it with no issues at all.

I emailed RWG yesterday as I’m currently on the £28 monthly global sim and they sent me this link to renew due to change in payment processor and can confirm it’s stayed at £28

That’s interesting. Because they switched me over from the Global to the EE/Vodafone version, and couldn’t get their heads around why or what had gone on, I gave up trying to get it resolved. Shame really because I would have been quite happy to keep on going with it at £28 pcm.

That’s the problem with the data only sims which don’t allow roaming

Tell me about it!!!!

I didn’t twig it at first because I’d set the RUTX12 to auto failover and it must have been switching to the 15gb Lebara SIM that I had in the second slot as a reserve. Once that was exhausted it was lights out on the data front, by which time we were a week into our last Euroland trip and trying to get some sense out of RWG admin.

Your sim is probably a phone sim which allow eu roaming
Not according to RWG .
Bought an Orange SIM in Wroclaw today . 50gB , 2 weeks , £4 .
I get it that buying the likes of the RWG SIM before travelling saves a wee bit of bother but cheaper just to pick up a local sim

As in previous message bought an Orange SIM at a shopping centre . All the other networks were there . Plus , Play etc

I agree now. It was so simple and cheap picking up Sims in Bosnia and Montenegro (and apparently the Montenegro one will work in Albania) that I have cancelled my RWG SIM.

I didn’t know that, useful for next time as I’ll stop my 100GB monthly data only sim this month. Can you put a phone sim in a MIFI?
