No it was not switched on and even if it was live you would have the same problem at the supply post end.pelican , yes it clearly was ! Why would Emmit make it up ?
Whist everyone can suggest it was lighthearted , it isn’t a very good idea to show dangerous set up procedures like this . Makes it look even worse as it’s raining as well , and let’s not even comment on the coiled up reel .

Well saidI've just watched the first episode and subsequently read this entire thread. I have to say I think that while everyone's entitled to their opinion most of what I've read makes me think we have a lot of patronising, miserable members on here. Sorry, chaps. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and can't wait for the next episode. Of course, it helps that I absolutely love Paul Merton, always have going back many, many years and I'd probably enjoy watching him paint a brick wall. I'm delighted for him that Suki makes him so happy and they seem well suited. Here's to the next SERIES !!
Sorry I don’t understand. I thought you ALWAYS plug the power into the van and then the bollard . Not bollard first and wander around with a live plug in the rain . I am wrong on this ?No it was not switched on and even if it was live you would have the same problem at the supply post end.
No, you are quite correct!Sorry I don’t understand. I thought you ALWAYS plug the power into the van and then the bollard . Not bollard first and wander around with a live plug in the rain . I am wrong on this ?
Thank you . Thought I was going mad there . I don’t understand the comment about the bollard not being live .No, you are quite correct!
How do you know this ?No it was not switched on
Exactly, live and let liveRead page one of this thread. Most of it quite vile. All people who haven't yet seen something pulling it to bits. Won't read the rest but here's my two pennerth. We did watch it. Found it mildly amusing and it will certainly turn some people on to the hobby. Yes there were stage managed bits as you'd expect as it's basically light entertainment. Yes I probably will watch the rest. If I find it runs dry I'll stop watching it.
Maybe they should make a documentary about wild camping in Hull, starring Minxy Girl with voice over commentary given by ShiftZZ (to add a bit of diversity)……… that’ll have them flockingTV company’s find out something could be really popular and make a programme, like visiting Cornwall. So more and more people visit Cornwall and you now can’t move. Now it’s happening with motorhomes.

Do you have spare tickets to give out to THAT Midlands City.
Stop touting for National Express!
One cannot guarantee that by plugging in a socket into a live source in an exterior setting in every kind of weather, handling cables and sockets with wet hands will result in no possibility of electricity leakage. If you think I'm reckless for not being too bothered about it feel free to say so and explain why. I don't see the danger, and I'm happy to be educated.

I've never heard of a hookup electrocution incident, and when you think every van in the land involves having a hand on a live lead at some time, one end or the other, both when plugging and unplugging. Maybe I rely on my Lucky Jim persona too much . However, I understand what you are saying and I will be stricter with my lead handling in the future
