No matter what the Government does, they cannot legislate for idiots and stupid morons.
Exactly . First thing when requiring treatment should be the dietician like in the old days.
We do all the above & even then we appear to be looking at a second wave so you can look forward to it in the UK as France has a rising weekly amount also.
The 5-2 diet appears to be a positive one for loosing weight. Little is known about gut flora, and an interest for research However what is known is that the flora can change by what you eat but the moment you return to the original diet the flora changes back. It's not quite as simple as "eat less and move more" though. Often a complete gut reset is required and not many people have the willpower to stick with that (minimum of 4 weeks and afterwards a completely different diet is a lifetime requirement with unfamiliar foods). Research has shown that the gut flora have a lot to do with all sorts of things - not only weight loss / gain but also the immune system and that's just for starters.
Doctors Michael Moseley and Michael Ruscio working independently came up with very similar conclusions....... as have others.
I am 8 weeks into my gut reset and it is hard going at times - even getting some of the foods can be a challenge. I do feel better though and although not a diet specifically for weight loss I have lost 5 kg - okay, not a lot but I messed up when Martin was ill which is why I have had to repeat the first few weeks.
Because it’s part of, not the only solution, plus if The NHS could not get the right kit Joe and Jo public stood no chance of getting a suitable mask.
Not if you have the right mask and wear it appropriately. Which is why companies like 3M have a range of masks with different ratings. You can buy rated masks from someone like Broken Link Removed during the height of lockdown they ran out of supplies. Which is why the nhs and public were struggling to buy any.If you can breath through it the virus can pass through it, simples!
Your wearing a mask would not have stopped you getting any infection. A mask stops the wearer passing it on, not the other way round. As you will probably have some of the same symptoms as Covid, are you getting a test?Updating our stay at the Premier Inn, just a couple of days after having Breakfast there, and after a young lad came around the corner and sneezed over my wife's breakfast, ( that she then left , I have had a cold come out , can't say it was the sneeze, but we did mask up going about Great Yarmouth keeping away from others as much as possible, If my cold came from that sneeze as I was not masked then that shows how the Virus can catch you. As I say don't know how I caught cold ,I don't blame anyone except myself , lesson learn't they can keep their hotels

Common sense seems to evade some people.
Sorry, but I would argue that it's the government itself bringing in legislation provided BY idiots and stupid morons.
That's why we're where we are, not because the public are as you suggest.
Let's just put the blame squarely where it should be, the government not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery.
At last someone talking sense, instead of moaning about having to give up rights/wear masks. The levels of ignorance, conspiracy theory, mistrust of government/scientific advice, and at times Trumpian casual racism, in this thread are worrying. It’s a nasty virus and it’s killed a lot of people, but we don’t need to lose our common sense or perspective about this; otherwise we’ll do more non-COVID harm than the virus does.
I work in a specialist Heart & Chest Hospital and have been part of our gold command throughout the COVID19 response. I follow the science, evidence and guidance from government. We now know a lot more about this virus than we did, 6 months ago.
Here’s my simple 7 rules to surviving this:
1. Don’t be a dick. Do the right thing, and don’t try to find clever loopholes or conspiracies or pseudo-internet-science to avoid doing what is right - you are no more or less important than anyone else, so behave like it. Not being a dick also means not getting incandescent with indignation because other people are being dicks. High blood pressure kills more people than Covid. Also, not being a dick means not moaning all the time. We are all dealing with the same issues.
2. Wash your hands. A lot. And sanitise with alcohol gel every opportunity you have. Don’t touch your face, or for that matter, other people’s faces.
3. Maintain social distance wherever possible. 2m is better than 1m. 1m is better than less. Side by side is better than face to face.
4. Catch coughs and sneezes in your elbow or a tissue. Bin it and wash your hands again.
5. If you have any symptoms (temperature, new persistent cough, loss or change of taste/smell - self isolate away from other people and get a test. If it is positive or you are contacted by NHS Test & Trace, then you must self-isolate.
6. Wear a mask indoors in public places. The evidence was flimsy, it is getting stronger. There is a significant proportion of asymptomatic infections. The evidence now shows that wearing a cotton face mask significantly reduces the chance you will pass the virus on to others. It doesn’t protect you though. But if we all wear masks then we are all protected - it really is that simple. It’s not a political con trick. It is a simple, evidence-based courtesy to others. Masks are perfectly easy to breathe in - I’ve been wearing a cotton one for months now at work without suffocating. There is no need to wear fancy FFP3 masks - leave this for clinicians in clinical settings. And there is no need to wear gloves - you are more of a risk wearing gloves. Just wash your hands regularly.
7. Look after each other (and don’t be a dick). Did I mention how important it is not to be a dick? Just stop moaning and looking for excuses or other people to blame, and just do what is right. It’s not hard, it’s not running scared and it’s not mind-control. It’s just old-fashioned manners.
Other than that, keep things in perspective. You are currently very unlikely to come in to contact with someone with the virus. But that could change rapidly. Enjoy life, go shopping, visit places, eat out. Just observe the rules and look after each other.
So wrong on many Levels, 1) British Govt; where not responsible for the disease. The Chinese Govt; However are fully complicit. 2) The TYPE of masks readily available are less than effective at preventing transmission of anything, they are a cosmetic sop to Media Hype!. I have one I used for Paint Spraying, It has disposable filters and seals to cover Mouth and Nose, even that is NOT certified for Bacterium!. 3) Stupidity IS the forte of much of the UK Population they take as "gospel" whatever the Media, and especially "Social Media" churns out. An old journalistic "saw" is "Never mind the Truth, so long as it sells" (Randolph Hurst I think?).Sorry, but I would argue that it's the government itself bringing in legislation provided BY idiots and stupid morons.

But the dangerous ones will be the ones who think they can't be a spreader and therefore continue to try and avoid using a mask unless forced because they know better. No it doesn't. Many of the infected 'superspreaders' were either totally asymptomatic or in the asymptomatic phase before symptoms appear. They didn't know they were infecting others. That is what the masks may possibly reduce. Not eliminate, just reduce, but that's a lot better than doing nothing.
When you say our government we're not responsible how do you explain the vastly different effects of the virus on the population of different countries other than by the demographics of the population combined with the actions of their governments?. Whether its a Chinese virus or not matters little at the moment what matters is how we can act to reduce its effect as much as possible. If face coverings are to protect others in case we are unknowingly infected and passing it on how daft would it be to expect someone else to wear a face covering to reduce the risk of them giving it me while not wearing one myself. So wrong on many Levels, 1) British Govt; where not responsible for the disease. However, we will agree upon one thing, Bureaucrats, could not organise said "piss up", the very idea that a Bureaucrat could give sound advice to his minister is an oxymoron. That`s another thing the "public" forget, Ministers take advice, they rarely have the time to do the legwork needed to make decisions. IF their decisions are flawed, It is usually because some mandarin has an agenda!. Hence IMV why Priti Patel is under fire for allegedly "pushing out" her "mandarin". He was clearly incompetent.
I do think eat less move more works. There are no fat fell runners. Very few fat footballers. Don see many fat marathon runners. I was up whernside yesterday. Guess what, no fat fell walkers. Moving more and eating less will make you lighter and fitter. The people that say it won’t are usually the ones that don’t want to move more and definitely don’t want to eat less. It's not quite as simple as "eat less and move more" though. I think it helps to get a dog not a handbag one but one that needs a fair bit of walking.I do think eat less move more works. There are no fat fell runners. Very few fat footballers. The change doesn’t need to be huge. Just walking a little further will make a difference. However walking a little further two or three times won’t help, it needs to become regular.
Not arguing the case for wearing as A Social Courtesy to others. Just that the Damn things are SO ineffective as to be a hazard in themselves, by giving a false sense of security. IF you want "Personal Protection" do not exit the house unless wearing full NBC Kit.When you say our government we're not responsible how do you explain the vastly different effects of the virus on the population of different countries other than by the demographics of the population combined with the actions of their governments?. I'm reminded of the reaction of shops sometimes when they check my money to check its not counterfeit on the odd occasion I check the notes given back in change they often take offence!.
Face coverings are the same that prat Gove was right for once its common courtesy to wear one.
I think the false sense of security argument is about people not taking suitable measures as advised and the government advice as it changes one eyesight test at Barnard Castle did more to affect that than a million facemasks! Not arguing the case for wearing as A Social Courtesy to others. Or I think more likely areas that had demonstrations because they have high ethnic minority populations and those populations tend to live in larger households where generations mix and are likely to meet others in different large households. More or less similar to care homes in several waysCoincidental that spike local outbreaks in Luton Blackburn Leicester appear to occur around 4 weeks after mass demonstrations ?
Now there we do have a meeting of minds. But try telling it?, without being accused of being a Racist!. It is an isssue of CULTURE, and nothing at all to do with the colour of skin.those populations tend to live in larger households where generations mix and are likely to meet others in different large households

I think that's been pretty widely recognised as a factor. What made me laugh was when the government started saying that the council's ought to have more impact on rules in local increases in infection sounds like a rattlesnake in a lucky dip.Now there we do have a meeting of minds. But try telling it?, without being accused of being a Racist!. It is an isssue of CULTURE, and nothing at all to do with the colour of skin.
