Some people dont always arrive at Stellplatz in a Motorhome

OK ....... decision made ...... we are coming over.

The tunnel is booked for 5:20pm tomorrow (Thursday) so after a night at Cite Europe we should be at the South end of the Mosel Friday afternoon. Can any body recommend an Aire at the South end in Germany that will still have places later Friday afternoon please? And of course it would be even better if there were some funsters there to say hello to. Hope to meet up with some old and new friends this trip.

After our last escapade in Belgium (new van dented on the way to Italy and then 5000 miles with duct tape) we are sticking to the French motorways and then turning left at Metz. Want to pop into Luxembourg for fuel, has anybody got any advice on best place to do that please?

Peter & Angela

Mertert has a main street with a choice of fuel stations and you go into Germany at river bridge end of street, so maximising your cheap fuel range , and The B49 which runs along Mosel before Trier There are loads of stellplatze , and Klusserath will definitely have room if you need to go that far before finding a space to suit even with biggest rig :)

Evening all. :)

We gave Kobern-Gondorf a miss due to the noise levels (road & rail), and are pitched at Polch, N & B factory Stellplatz. :)
We've spent the day looking st MHs we can't afford.

Not sure where tomorrow will take us.

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

Apparently Simon, judging by all the reviews, ie, Mendig, about half an hour away. (y)

TBH, we pulled in to Kobern-Gondorf for an overnighter back in 2010, and it was so noisy, we didn't stop. It wasn't until we pulled in and recognised the place yesterday, that we remembered. During the short time it took me to reprogramme the Sat nav, we were reminded yet again, of the road and rail noise. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

P.S. We are all Mosel'ed out now, and are slowly heading north. Thanks again to @Snowbird Dave, for setting the ball rolling. (y)

Again thanks Dave. Looks like you are heading South. Maybe we can meet when we are heading North?
Great thread this Dave @Snowbird thanks
Yes we are Peter, like others just making it up as we go along :-) will keep posting on here (y)

We are no longer on the Mosel, but thought you lot on the Mosel would like to see where we are now. We are up in the Jura above Geneva with fantastic weather and food to die for.

We are in the Jura too. We’re at Nozeroy!

You are obviously overlooking Lac Leman. The cliff on the right of the picture behind Geneva is the Saleve. We used live right under there :).

We are at Gex. The restaurant was Le Refuge de Florimont and its one of the best I have ever eaten in, and I have tried a lot :).

Seen at Kesten today.

IMAG0190.jpg

Note 3 pointed star on the gate.

Four days on the Mosel & not a funster in sight, in fact not seen another British van until today.

We went longer than that ! not a lot of Brits about in reality :0
Nor French. I've seen only one French Reg MH in all the time I was on the Mosel, and not seen one since. Dutch and Deustch abound of course.

For us, moving on from Mendig tomorrow, up to Dortmund. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
