Mosel Meet.

We'll be moving on from Graach tomorrow morning, but not sure whether to go north or south..............................yet. :)
Well folks, we were headed for Alf, but pulled in to Enkirich, as it wasn't looking as mobbed as when passing before. It's been eight years since we've been here, when on a FACTS Meet.

We'll be here for a night or two possibly, (if anyone is calling in), then continuing north. We've had a lovely scenic drive here from Graach, missing commuter and tourist traffic. ;)

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

Just pulled into Sankt Aldegund for the night. Nice spot will do a bit of exploring later (bars) :)
€7pn

Just up the road from us then Dave. ;)

Are there servicing facilities at St Aldegund please?

Folks have been steadily arriving at Enkirch, but no Funsters that we are aware of. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Just been out and double checked, yes all facilities are by the entrance, ehu extra
We got here about 3 and got a spot looking over the river.

I think you may find Sankt Aldegund a bit noisy (road and rail)
services at Enkirch are at bottom left corner if you go clockwise round the peri road :) about the cheapest water we found 1E about 90ltrs

The last time we were here, at Enkirch (2010) the service area was only open at certain times of the day. Now that they charge for water, the area is open 24/7.
Our problem out here, is the pressure from the water meters. Because of the 90 degree angle from the filler neck to the tank, to avoid blowback, i have to put a reducer inline, but then we don't get the full metred amount, as it's done on a timer. At Graach (possibly the best servicing facilities around here), they have ball valves on the water hoses, so that you can regulate the pressure. Much more civilised. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Avoid “blowback” at all costs Jock, that could prove embarrassing and possibly painfull:D btw what’s Enkirch like? I turned up at Sankt Aldegund about 6pm and got a space facing river. Early night for us after a quick beer with Dave and Maggie, as it was rather heavy last night. What’s Bernkastel-Kues like?

Enkirch is HUGE, ie, Clou Liners with tandem axle trailers, and ARVs seem to favout it.
However, there's not a lot here, so we are continuing to Alf tomorrow. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Did you edit that Simon? ;)

Bernkastel Kues is a bit like Zell, ie, there is more to do and see. The Stellplatz at Graach is a fair walk away (1.6Km), but not a problem for someone as spritely as yourself.
The Stellplatz is 12 Euros, inclusive of EHU and showers. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Update...........having spoken to @Busman Dave and @dabhand Simon at St Aldegund, they have moved south, and we have continued north. @garjanco Gary recommended Camping Burgen (ACSI), so that's where we are tonight, and tomorrow we'll head for Kobern-Goldof. (y)

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

We will be at the big aire in Trier tomorrow. In between then and now I'm going to spend some time reading this thread to find the best places to visit afterwards.

Many thanks to @Snowbird for starting the thread. :)

We moved up to Koblenz and band had a look around at the German corner. The campsite looked OK but for 35e gave it a miss, we. turned right and are just down the Rhine at Braubach, in a nice stellplatz place at 10 e with free water and dump. Showers and toilets, shower 1e but will use our own as 16 amp but had to share as no slots available. Nice German next door. Rhine at the front and castle at the back next to a park.
