MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Hope it's all sorted for you now.
Matera and Alberobelo were perhaps best places we went to in the south of Italy. Enjoy.
This is what I wrote about the ferry at Bari.
"Waiting to start boarding for ferry to Greece. Arrived early which was just as well because what I thought were the tickets were just vouchers to obtain the tickets with. Saved a mad panic when we got to the control at 5."

Yes I have to go in to office to get my tickets too . I only have an email with the ticket numbers on them.

Oh. and you need to go to the reception on the boat to get swipe card to get back on the vehicle deck if you go up into the rest of the boat. Only one access point to re-enter that part of the boat. At least on the one we were on

Sorry tam just remembered you have been on the ferry to Greece before - not trying to teach you how to suck eggs.
Enjoy the 4 am wake up call going into igoumenitsa.

tam on my tvr if you start it up and let it idle it would not be charging the battery up until you blipped the throttle and raised the revs above 2000 to turn out the ign light and start the charging its a known trait on tvr maybe the same on your year iveco

Tam

Glad you got sorted and are on your way.

Since you asked the Iveco garage to check the earthing cable/strap they owe you an apology and the cost of the new alternator. You were urged to keep the old one.

Don't forget to switch your phone to Airplane mode or you will be charged for satellite connection for any download which might be made during the crossing even if you do not use it. If you need the phone or computer pay for the ship's WiFi.

I assume if going by road to Turkey you will be disembarking at Igoumenitsa not Patras.

Kalo Taxidi.

I'm on the 13.30 boat I get in to igoumenitsa at 11pm Greek time. Don't have a cabin were just in deck seats

Matera Looks like my place too but it would be a nightmare for me to get around so great pictures..👍🏼

Anyone can say in hindsight about the problem but sometimes we always look for the hardest things when sometimes it’s the simplest thing that get looked over, it’s why I said go back to basics and start from the beginning…

For peace of mind keep an eye out for a battery on your travels and if you come across a reasonable priced one….🤔

For yours has taken a little bashing lately…👍🏼

Yes but not heading to Turkey till the start of February

Phew what a saga! Hopefully everything sorted and now and onward to blue skies and sunny days. Cracking photos, no wondered you're all knackered with all those steps.

Reckon you've at least 20 years to wait for that lol.

Really pleased that you have got the van sorted. I don't post a lot but do keep up with your travels. Would have been stressful enough even without the ferry deadline! Hope Jade improves. Safe travels.

Exactly right. -2 in Perth now, and temp heading down…
Aye its a bit better here. Had to take my jumper of today

Antalya average temperature in Feb is 16° that's about 18 ° warmer than Scotland
21 degrees warmer than us in South Ayrshire just now!

So glad you’re sorted. I can breathe again. Hopefully you can too.

So pleased life has settled down now, I think we’ve all been holding our breath and look you’re over 1,000 posts and we’ve hardly started our holiday. Sleep well. Give Ella an extra hug and hope she’s improved. Just don’t give her too much medicine

Yeah I'm a bit pooped myself lol. I do hope she feels better soon. I'd have left her in the van but she doesn't like being left either and can't carry her.
Tam she really needs rest, have you got a large shoulder bag or rucksack you can put her in - you could wear the latter on your front so you can take some of the weight on your arms.

Wimp! :giggle: If they can film the last James Bond (Daniel Craig) going all over the place in his car, up and down steps then you with your 'bike' front end on your wheelchair would have no problem ... just don't try going down the big run of steps at the side though, you'd end up flying off the end!!!

Seriously though there are a lot of steps but there are also lots of roadways etc so you should be able to see a lot of it without a problem.

She would hate that. I can barely pick her up without her squealing, I don't know what part of her is sore or tender but she's very guarded of me lifting her etc . She's fine being stroked when lying down but she is nervous when being lifted. Whatever she's strained or pulled I'd be scared to hurt her in a bag. Once in Greece I'm going to take her to the vet to get checked out.
