Tam you are lucky you got it sorted so quick. They are a busy garage as you said in one of your posts. I know it sounds harsh but they do have other customers. You are now on the road again so chill and enjoy your trip, it could have been a lot worse.

Aye I can see lots of photos online but it's not the same as seeing it in the flesh. But there's lots of Rome I'd love to see and I think it needs more time than I can afford to spend there this time.

Yeah I've heard about the strays in Turkey so I may well be doing that again lol. Greece has lots of strays but they're usually well looked after. Nothing like it was in Morocco

Just been chatting with the geordie couple I travelled with in Morocco last year , they're in naples tonight heading this way to get the ferry from citivechi to Barcelona tomorrow night so we're going to try and meet up somewhere tomorrow for lunch between Rome and naples on the a1 motorway. Be nice to see them and nala the pup from Morocco.

We went to Herculaneum instead of Pompeii after reading the reviews etc about both, it was very, very interesting although a roasting day we really enjoyed it and could happily have spent a lot more time there ... if you do go make sure you look for the preserved 'bar' (as in a pub).

Wr went in October Naomi went in while I stayed with the dogs , we couldn't have left them it was sweltering.
In normal weather they are happy doing 2 to 3 hours in the van while we visit .

The only way really I can think of to do the ‘scavi’ (excavations) is if you teamed up with another MHer with dogs and took turns to visit.
Agree Herculaneum is fantastic. There’s also a wonderful museum The Archaeological Museum in Naples which has all the contents from Pompeii.

On this large site in Lisbon there’s a few vehicles dotted about that definitely look abandoned… there’s even a nice newish Carthago that looks like it been unused for a few years…
