After our walk I drove the few miles from the beach round to the gilindire cave .... I'd seen a couple of reviews online about this cave and how amazing it was. It was only discovered in 1999 by pure accident , they reckon it was formed over 7 million years ago ... how they know that who knows and who knows if it's accurate or not but anyway it's impressive, very very humid in their though and around 500 steps in it's 0.5km depth I was knackered and sweating like a madman by the time I got back out , really hard to breath when you're right down the bottom..really needs some air piped in there. Only 60tl per vehicle to enter weather there's one or 5 of you. Think they just charge for the parking space.

Surely that's how it should be. The cave is the attraction not the doorway .

I guess they can estimate the cave age by the length of the stalactites. They will know how much is formed per decade for example.

Thank you Tam for going into that cave and the wonderful photos. No way i would have managed to go in there, not recovered from a more open less spectacular one in Belgium yet and that was about 10 year ago.
Nature is so much more artistic than mankind.
As for the cavemen, I prefer mine more hirsute.

We stayed over last night at mëke golu, a dormant volcano , sadly the lake part has been mostly dry since 2015 but its still impressive. This area of Turkey is pretty barren, its the closest to desert they have . We had a nice sunset last night, bit windy this morning but still managed to put the drone up for some photos. Couldn't fly it over the crater as it kept losing signal not sure if it was some kind of interference due to the volcano itself or what as it wasn't that far distance wise and nothing to block the antenna so very strange .
