MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Some pics from side , very handy spot this for being near beach and town but surprisingly quiet . We've had a lazy afternoon as we had a 3 hour walk and play on the beach this morning so we got back to camper around 1pm had lunch and then I fell asleep lol... woke up around 4pm

What's the story with banks.

So back in January when I finally received the money from my mums estate I opened 2 further savings accounts through raisin bank .

I stuck £25k in an easy access account at 4.72% interest on the 18th January and £50k in a 30 day notice account at 5.00% interest on the 15 January. Both accounts pay the interest monthly.

Obviously because I opened them mid month I received interest on both of them on 31st January £44 and £116 respectively.

The only fun part about savings is watching it gain interest so I had a look on 29th Feb to see what interest they'd achieved last month for a full month .......and nothing 😱 it's not changed.

OK I thought maybe they pay it on the 1st instead...checked yesterday and still nothing. And still nothing today 2nd march.

So I'm wondering what feckin system do they actually have? I mean if we have to pay them money we don't get to just choose willy nilly when we pay it. So wheres my interest lol.

The other 2 savings accounts I have with them are boring and only pay interest at maturity as they were both fixed term , one expires in April thankfully as that's been 2 years at only 2.45% interest ( never doing that again ) and the other matures in July at 6.01%.

Still some good rates out there at the minute and I'm hoping they stay good as for once it's actually beneficial to have savings.

Mibee pay the interest on a specific Day🤞👍🤷‍♂️

I didn't know where else to post this Tam but as you have the biggest MHF following and I knew you above everyone wouldn't mind this thread derailment...
WATCH OUT! all pet owners in Northern Morocco and Southern Spain
The dreaded & highly dangerous processionary caterpillar is on the march......

That's the first time I've seen them in procession... usually all still in the trees or in a squashed blobby mess on the ground when I see them.

You would think if it's paid monthly though it would be the 1st or the last day (which would vary month to month)
They usually put stuff like that in their FAQ’s.
Fixed rate/ fixed term,it will be added at the end probably, especially if it’s a 1 year account.

Aye that's 2 accounts .. but I have 2 that interest is paid on monthly . They paid 2 weeks worth last month on the 31st as I'd only opened them mid January. So I'd expected them to pay February interest on 29th . But it hasn't. And now the 2nd and still not paid.

Bit strange , I'm sure it will go in at somepoint but I'm surprised at the lack of consistency

...or monthly on the anniversary of the date opened - so the 15th/18th?
I thought that at first . But it was paid 31st January. Nothing at all throughout February.

The 25k should get £98 interest a month and the 50k should get £200 and something.

That's half my monthly living costs 😁
