MOBY GOES TO TURKEY. A tam and pups adventure.

Quick tip for driving into Turkey Tam as you approach the border stay out in the right hand lane otherwise you'll get stuck behind possibly 100s of lorries which seem to all get checked in and out (check the outward bound lorries in my pic) so don't join their queue or you'll not be in Turkey until about March! Lol
If your not sure follow any local motorist you see 👍View attachment 858989
Aye I'd been told about that. I saw the same at Bulgaria a couple of years ago

One stray for dinner tonight ... noisy bugger though so I'm hoping he buggers off when he's finished.

We just passed this massive sugar factory outside xathia ., biggest factory I've ever seen took ages to drive through it 7... but it was derelict. I was curious why so I googled it and apparently the managing director ken d floss somehow got in to hot water and the company was dissolved...

:LOL: :LOL::LOL::LOL:

But that's not Google talking shite it's the TUI website which they probably have outdated advice on?

Any results will probably be based on people doing a week's holiday in resorts with more expenses than you. Probably just half or less what you spend when in Europe?

Tam, can you get hold of Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Wild? Last week’s was about an Irish guy, who had an interesting life, ending up with some money in Thailand, where he’s set up a dog sanctuary and feeds loads of local dogs too. Very inspiring bloke. (Next week’s is on full-timers in a motorhome so looking forward to that.)

This looks very similar to the place we stayed at in 2016. I wonder if its the same place in Mezuga. (The power points look identicle).

I've donated & set up a DD. Don't normally like Fogle but very touched by this guy & his back story

And next week features a bloke whose living off grid in a converted lorry in deepest LINCOLNSHIRE. No doubt the program will start with Ben hiking with rucksack on his back to meet up with this guy, even though the guy has driven to where he is parked up - probably Anderby Creek (without a paddle) or at Jim’s.

Rampant inflation in turkey maybe not as cheap as it was. And alcohol pork etc more difficult to get perhaps.
I know people there just now though and from their photos .. fruit and veg etc looks very cheap there.

No idea...but can't get near the fresh baked goods bit or the fruit and veg for turks. And the trolleys full of bog roll are a little concerning lol

Tam just for info on what one cannot get in Turkey, Basia takes the following, apart from pork and its products,

Blue cheeses
Herring in sauces.

But maybe not your taste.

Dammit I forgot about pork. I should have got some more chops.

Dinnae like blue cheese though so I won't miss that.

Shopping is always an adventure in other countries. I disliked it in Morocco though. Too much like hard work.

You can buy lovely spit roast chickens in Turkey but they always seemed to come with the wings removed, must be a delicacy or something, whooda thought it.

No flying off the shelves jokes please. :giggle:

I didn't mean where I meant when. Turkey had massive inflation over the last few years.

Not sure Phil though your lovely Kasbah looks a lot fancier than our wee reception & our open air toilet with a view (of everything!) 😂😂

Oh no, I've just watched the Thailand episode and seen the preview of next week, he is The Offgrid Nomad on YouTube, doesn't really edit videos, just waffles and spends every last penny on some old tat.

I watched his truck build and to be fair its probably worth a lot more than it cost him, pretty much everything else he does is madness 😂 😂 😂

Thanks for that info I will watch tonight. I don't normally watch him as living off grid just isn't my thing.

Here’s one l bet you never considered, a big dog needs good doggy bags, three poos a day = 1068 a year, bags that are capable are around £12.50 for 50, 1068/50 = 12.50x say 21 = £262.50 per year,Dog lives only 10 year £2625.00 simply to clear up its poo, just saying but nevertheless it is a cost to bear and it can’t be denied.
All your three are costing a fortune, you mentioned your investments a few posts back have you considered the considerable sum you would achieve investing this money as a regular saver 😳

We love pets but boy do they cost.
We use nappy bags adequate, scented and a fraction of the price of official dog bags.
