I got stopped twice after leaving anddora border. I had always wanted to visit but we had a hellish time. Didn't find goods I was interested in cheap only fuel and fags and booze. Don't drink and don't smoke If it wasn't for the nice journey over the top it would have been a total disaster imho

DO NOT speno any money on 'Las Ramblas' unless you want to experience it, however, it is so expensive...... Take a leisurely wall toward the port ..... either side of those are great places (and SO much cheaper) to while away your time there.... It is such a great city it commands a few days to take your time to e explore its many facets.....¡Buen viaje !

Well we're coming to the end of another uneventfull day!! I can feel I am going to pay for it soon though!!

Didn't get very warm today unfortunately, I think judging by the posts,brewery Dave had the best of the sun!!! It didn't happen down here, and they apparently give rain tomorrow, oh well,these things are sent to try us! As my old mum used to say!!

So lots of holiday makers gone now, but I have a party going on across the dirt road from me tonight!! I'm getting disco and dance music, Latin stylie coming right at me,, can't help tapping me feet though, and a minute ago I did a passable salsa to the kettle and back!! God if I could be seen I would be locked up !! Lol. The music is good though !!

So now I'm having or rather just had a light dinner of another 2 pork chops, home made chips and the other half of a tin of beans!! The reason for this repeat performance is cause I defrosted 4 chops by mistake yesterday and my Mrs always used to say. You can't re freeze them you know !! Along with I'm going to the hairdressers today!! Which was closely followed by. I seen a lovely dress with a matching handbag!! God how I don't miss that!!! Lol.

Anyway I digress,,, So I'm going to be lazy now and chill, again with a few brews and another film or two!

It's been nice again today doing nothing, oh the young couple who live in Marbella have just gone home and the girls we're excitedly clutching a bag of haribo sweets I gave them each when they came to say goodbye,, bless em they stood at my door with their hands all ready for a handshake and a goodbye in espanola!! Lovely kids !

Now don't start thinking that uncle Ian goes buying and giving sweets to all kids, lol. In fact I did ask dad first!! Just to cover myself!! I'm afraid society today has made even a small gesture like that a bit worrying for a single bloke, who's getting on a bit!! Lol. But mum and dad were all good, and the little one couldn't resist run in my head again!! Lol.

So a film then bed maybe!! God all this quality sleep I'm getting is making me tired!!! Lol.

It has taken me a long time but I have just found the thread on your exploits and read them all today, with the odd break for coffee!

Loved reading about your exploits.

Your attitude to Portugal v Spain mirrors ours of Spain v France. When we return to France from any European country we feel we are " home". Thankfully, we are all different and all like different things, otherwise the one remaining campsite would be a bit full.

Keep up the posts and continue enjoying your life, wherever it takes you.

Good morning!!

I have just got out of bed, and before you say anything no I didn't sleep all the time! I was awake at 4,30 till 8 am. Bloody noise of both rain and people packing to leave!! Lol

So they were right!! It's raining here and has been for a while! Not hard but constant, I thought someone had put a dustbin on my roof for a laugh last night cause the noise of water on Tin was like a drum,, so I had to have a look.
When I did see something i realised it was that bloody old satellite dish I got up there !! I must get shot of that when I get home, extra weight must be quite a bit I think? But then does it leave a massive hole in helga??

So today by the look of it I may go for coffee and guess what I may have to wear that bloody full length leather coat I got, lol. At least it will get some use ! So when I'm walking up the road people will think I just stepped out the matrix!! Lolol.

I don't think I will be doing much today, at all ( again). But it isn't the weather for a bike ride or a good walk!!

So I will wake up properly, shower ( which I have been doing in helga since I got here, because I'm not being horrid, but the bathrooms are and have been in a terrible state!! The cleaners work so hard then in 20 mins it looks like a pig farm has walked through them) How can people go to the loo and leave them like that?? It's beyond me !!

Reminds me of a quick holiday I had in Egypt last year when it was a national holiday after Ramadan we didn't use the restaurants on site cause people ( Egyptians) were shitting themselves under their long dress things and letting it fall to the ground everywhere they walked!!! Filthy bastards!! Even the staff, who were Egyptian. We're going mad!! They had to close a swimming pool one day cause someone shit in it!!

Never will I go to Egypt again,, put me right of them !! And apparently when the Egyptian nationals go on holiday. It's common !!! Woooa not for me!! Like living in the Middle Ages!!!

Anyway back to the here and now!!!

Not just for the reasons you stated but also because of the corruption (one reason the contracts were for the fixed two years) and I felt it might not be that safe for a woman, and a non-Muslim woman at that.

Hi duck!! I never got the feeling that I wasn't safe, but I'm not too sure about a single woman there babe, I think it was maybe a good decision not to go!! I did hear some stories!! I certainly would not go back out there now!! X

When we were in Spain last month we never managed to get a strong enough signal even if we paid for site wifi. Especially in the evening when everyone logged in.

Hi reckless, on this site there is good wi fi. It has been a bit sporadic this weekend due to the amount of people here but still better than most I have been to! I go on "YouTube films for free ". And there's loads. In fact I'm out now but I'm half way through the Christian bale version of Moses now and it's pretty good!! But there's hundreds on there. Various people put various films on. Yes good signal is important. But I watched 4 yesterday, straight thru. No prob at all !! Lol. Good luck !!
