Ian and helga go south !!

filmon.com is good for live TV. We were on a few sites in Spain last month where the on-site wifi was good enough to stream it. If the connection is not so good you can record up to an hour to watch later without the pauses without subscribing.

You have to register which is free and log in then it get's a bit complicated but basically find tv channels and then uk tv and click on the red button on the programme you want, this then saves the prog to their server for you to download at your leisure, this then frees up the recording time again.

If you need a guide to downloading, I may be able to do it later if you, or anyone else, requires it.

It is possible to pay 5 euro's a month to extend the recording time to 4 hrs which is plenty for us.

Difficult to find links at the moment as I am using the wifi on the Cap Finistere on a tablet, bit rough last night but calmer now. Lots of Stugeron so I have been OK but wife still in bed, excellent free brekky this morning:)

Well. It's still drizzling a bit here, but I have decided to do a wash!! I can't believe how domesticated I have become! Lol.

I have just been talking to a friend in uk and not much is going on new there, where he is!! And they are just getting through the weekend as peacefully as possible !! With his 5 kids it won't be easy!! Lol.

Just got back to van and after extolling the virtues of the internet here it's all gone tits up!!!! Bloody typical,, 3 good days and now I can't watch the rest of my film!! I wonder if the weather has anything to do with it??? I do seem to remember my sky dish at home playing up in bad weather!!

So. More people slowly leaving, but supermarket on site is open all the time, even Easter Sunday, I'm amazed!! But then all the restaurants are open now, and bars so I assume Easter is the start of their season??

Ok, going to the lavandaria now, just for something to do to be honest!!

I'm having some thoughts about work, life etc uk and other things so I will post later to share, if I think it's of any interest!! Chat soon. Xx.

Yes, collecting our Globecar PVC tomorrow and visiting family and friends for a week before returning to Portugal for a few weeks via St. Malo next Monday and then back to France for a couple of months.

Looking forward to a new way of travelling:)
Enjoy the new vehicle! We are not off until early May but heading south and east towards Slovenia and possibly beyond if it isn't too hot!

Enjoy the trip, I am sure you will.

Our first major adventure in the new van will probably be in September, we hope to travel across France into Southern Germany,Switzerland and into Italy as far as we can before catching the ferry from Civativechia (not sure of spelling!) to Barcelona and thence back to Tavira for the winter.

The plan then is to use the van for shorter trips around Portugal and Spain if all goes to plan!

Apologies to @ianthebuilder for thread hijack!:)

Now don't start thinking that uncle Ian goes buying and giving sweets to all kids, lol. In fact I did ask dad first!! Just to cover myself!! I'm afraid society today has made even a small gesture like that a bit worrying for a single bloke, who's getting on a bit!! Lol. But mum and dad were all good, and the little one couldn't resist run in my head again!! Lol.

So a film then bed maybe!! God all this quality sleep I'm getting is making me tired!!! Lol.

Have a good night all,, sleep well,, Ian xxx

No need to worry, unless you were a DJ at the BBC in the 60's:whistle:

It is already in our plans, we have regularly travelled from Alcossebre to Cabo de Gata and as well the numerous mentions on this forum the area was recommended to us by some friends a few years ago.
We were wary of venturing 'into the unknown' with the 5'er and then the caravan but now we have the Globecar.....:)

You gave us good info on Cabo de Gata last year, hope we can reciprocate about Espuña sometime.

Good morning,,

Sun is shining, site is nearly empty again, ( it was like a refugee camp) Internet is good, all in all a very good morning!!

I intend to start the cleaning process today, so helga can feel better about herself!!

Not too much to report at present cause not too much is going on !!!

Over the last few days it has been fun watching and listening to the Spanish here on holidays, once again I feel a bit sad of the way we have no such values of keeping family close, such as I have seen them do!!

Now I can use the site showers and loo again!!!! And I don't need to take my shovel with me!!!

So back to what I know, quiet sites, more vacancies so I can be comfy when I travel back,, it was all over in a flash....

Oh yes. I bought a coffee maker a couple of weeks ago
, put it somewhere, and I have just found it again so I'm going to try it today, it's one of those that you screw the bottom part off, fill the base with required amount of water, put coffee in the reMovable section and then just screw back together and put on stove, job, fire whatever!! No filters needed and there you have it. Hot fresh coffee!! So I will let you know how that goes!!

Ok. So a shower, then a coffee, then a bit of work ( or what passes for work here) and I will let you know about the nice relaxing day I'm having later!!

Have a lovely morning,, xxxxx

I remember a couple years ago 2 teens trashed the toilets there can't see what they get out of that. Anyhow love reading your posts keep em coming and have a lovely day.

Thanks bob! But I will say. Who lets there kids play in the loos? They were actually playing in the blocks here, bikes everything in them! I've just seen the 2 maintenance lads that have worked their arses off this weekend, running about sorting stuff out, now there loading a fridge that is battered and has been left on a pitch where a tent was!! Just been left here?? It's mad !!!! Lol

It was that sort of irresponsibility that got the wild camping stopped at Loch Lomond. It only takes a few idiots to spoil things for everyone.

One of the sites we like to stay at near Durham has had to put a lot of rules in place because of folks dumping stuff. As the owner says they are not a civic amenity site and he's had carpets, fridges and other broken stuff left at the bins - all of which he then has to take to the correct disposal facility.

Well I've had a nice walk this morning,, lovely....

Now back in helga having a lovely brew! Coffee maker works a treat, lovely cup of coffee! Pain in the arse to clean though!! Also I realised while drinking it that I like to go out for my coffee!! Tea in the van but coffee out! Gives me the chance to see other. What are they called? Humans!! Yes that's it. Real live human beings!! Lol

So the coffee maker will get more use in the uk than here!! And talking about the uk........

I have been rolling things over in my mind and I have come to the decision to go back to the uk after this little holiday I'm having!!!

The reason for this is twofold!! 1 I know where I am at home with regard to getting work, materials, advertising etc, 2 I can earn enough money in 6 or 7 months to organise myself for my next trip,ie, Motorhome wifi,, booster,, storage organisation,, thin out the crap I don't need,, get proper service for gas etc on helga,, canopy/awning for her at a decent price, I think I may get a complete set of tyres as well this year, mine are good for tread but nearly 7 years old now, and that can't be good!!!

I would like to change the flooring , I will keep the carpets somewhere for future but I want to lay a good cushion flooring type floor!!! Maybe a new mattress for the bed, get all the upholstery cleaned properly and thoughrouly!! So lots to get done and the last reason is the language, either Spanish or French or German I can make myself nicely understood in order to get a coffee in these countries but to take on a building job, with all that entails is biting of a bit more than I can chew!!

It's amazing how a walk without worrying where your going or ending up can clear your mind so that decisions can be made !!! I'm comfortable with what I have decided and it's not like I'm drifting here, I like to change my mind while driving about( like you have seen). Lol. I only have one more decision to make !!! That is where I intend to make a living in uk !!! Now that will take me to about driving off the ferry or Chunnel to decide,, who knows on the trip home I might meet a damsel in distress!! Lol.

Have a good afternoon!! Xxxx

Haha. Yes there's big signs saying no washing of pots and pans at the water points here cause there's lots of available sinks. But no!! Piles of plates, cups, pans all sorts of stuff all in there!!! Haha. The lads have spent the morning here clearing all the drains,, they started when I got up and have just finished now!!! Lol.
