El Roccio is a must. You may want to stay more than 1 night so you can see what happens at the Sunday processions. La Altea is a nice site anyway. Happy trucking. :)

Head south from El Rocio to the coast at Matalascanas which is where Sevillano's go for the beach and then towards Huelva on the coast road and Mazagon, there is an aire at Mazagon and probably other places.

Farther along at Rabida there are replicas of the boats Christobel Colon discovered the America's in, this is where he embarked from.
 
Ian, have you found any yorkshire tea bags yet.... we are going to Iceland at fuengirola next week to purchase some. Will leave some on the shelf for you.

Head for El Rocio as planned, we wouldn't want you to miss that out. It's a must see.

We are now in Central Portugal, making a steady way home along the Galacia Coast for tunnel on 6th April.

Ok well I got to site about an hour ago, nice, good facilities all seems cool !!

I have just walked into town !!!

I must be in a movie!! I swear I heard the music from the good the bad and the ugly whistling in the wind!!

Not a soul about!! Quite eerie really!!

Horse rails everywhere, dust roads and the odd cantina open !! There's a Mexican with a sombrero and a poncho on sitting by a fountain cleaning g his six gun !!

God knows what they do for entertainment here, unless of course they try turkey shooting!! But it's not exactly the Friday night I had in mind !! Lol. Still there may be a saloon open later with dancing girls and spittoons all over the floor !!

Hang on, things are looking up , the sheriff has just asked me if I want to be in a posse, hunting for the gang that robbed the bank !!! Nah, i will just eat me tappas and chill !!! X
 
Ok. I have had my tappas and they were lovely!! Nice cervesa, and now a fag !!

Now I seem to have been taken a shine to!! By about 20 flies!! I know I only had a good wash this morning and not a shower but god, give me a break, there everywhere!!

Sitting here looking round at nothing and no one makes me wonder how these people make a living, not just here but other one horse towns I've seen as well !!

I do wish I could speak more Spanish though cause there's lots I would like to know!!

I think I would be bored to death in a month if I lived here!! Shame, they have lovely weather, good food and drink, friendly people. But no work !!!
 
Nicely relaxed in helga now! Got washing in, all sorted!!

El rocio is ok but unless somethings going on its dead!! Saw 3 horses and riders though, so that's it for me!! Doesn't hold any magic for me? Yes I know there's a parade of horses on sunday( Palm Sunday) and probably a big Easter parade but not for me!!

So tomorrow I am going to try to get into Portugal!! Apparently the first couple of towns on the coast near the border are lovely so I will be heading there!!

I will try to get auto gas full as well, and I want to change my old bottle I use also!! ( for kettle outside) lol and in huelva I have put coords in to do that!!!

So now I have to learn please and Thankyou in Portuguese!!! How hard is it going to be trying that language after bumbling my way through Spain !!!

Still I don't know how long I will be there but by all accounts the people are lovely and it's cheap!!!

I have to get my washing from tumble dryer now, speak soon xxx.

Rusty, I have a package with ee on the phone! But I think it's quite expensive, but it depends on how you think! I get 100 mg a day for £3.00. But free texts and calls all over Europe !

There are much better options available in uk. I will post a pic of something I was shown and it's on a rolling contract and I was told around £13 per month it's a mobile wi if thingy and I believe pc world are doing it?? If I had of had more time before I went I would have got it !! My last phone bill was £98 for 1 month!! Good luck , xx

Yes busby it is expensive, and I did get advice about Internet from 3 and a few other things, but I didn't have the luxury of time to sort it properly !! I completed on the house on 7 th December, bought the first Motorhome I saw in the flesh on 9th December and drove to get mot on 11th, then straight to Portsmouth for ferry on 13th!! Got to Spain on 15th and I have been here ever since!!

If I knew someone I could call a mate or trust I would ask them to get one of those £13 per month deals and post to me,, I would just give them the money ! But I don't !!

Anyway I'm looking at it this way,,, just think of the money I will save after I go back to uk and get sorted !!

And another thing £60 odd quid a month is no money compared to what my overheads were in uk!!!
So I'm saving a fortune really !! Lolol. Xx.

Infact now I'm thinking about it , it works out the same price as I used to pay for hairdressing bills every month,, and I shave my head, I ain't had a hair cut for 30 years!!! Lol.

Look at a couple of previous posts busby and you will see the pic of equipment I was shown by a motorhomers and the provider is 3 and they said either pc world was doing it or one of those big stores !! Look at the pic. All info is on the box!! Type, make etc !!
 
Good morning !!

Well it rained here last night, but because the ground is all sand it's no problem !! In fact it's like living in a bunker on a golf course!!!

So I'm going to huelva to try and get gas this morning, then on to Portugal !!
Wooopieee another country to cross off the bucket list!!

Checked with Ee yesterday and all phone package is still good ( I'm not surprised though, I'm spending good money)

Looking foreward to it funnily enough, I employed a couple of Portuguese lads a couple of years ago and they were good men !!

So I have been told it's cheaper, most speak English, coffees better, and food is good, so all is ok in the world !!!

Don't know anything about going over the border, so I'm hoping that's easy!!
I have seen an aire in the Aires book I will head for and it looks ok, first one across border I think it is??

Anyway, going to dump all crap now and pay and have a brew and get going! Will chat soon. Ian xxx.
 
Morning Ian, I would say you won't even know you have crossed the border to Portugal but actually you will because the roads are so bad, warn Helga.

If you are keeping off the motorway you will use the N125, come off A22/E1 at J17 and if you need gas still there is one on the N125 at Aldeia Nova take left instead of right when the R125 meets the N125.
