Ian and helga go south !!

It
Not in the case of the Trumatic C boilers, which Ian has. They are designed to provide heating, with the integral water tank empty or full. (y)

@ianthebuilder, I hope you manage to get it sorted Ian. Is there a steady red or flashing red light on the heater control, when operated?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

It was a steady red jock ??

Insufficient gas to the boiler Ian :( indicating that you have either run out, and need to change over to the other full cylinder, or, both cylinders empty so need to fill up, or, there could be a problem with your regulator (a common occurrence with the refillable cylinder systems :( but not with the bulk tank systems).

Good luck at the Hymer service depot. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Like I've already posted above @chaser, not on that model of boiler. It doesn't require water for the heating to operate, and it doesn't have a removable cowl for the gas to ignite. There are thousands of us using the same boiler, and with respect, you are obviously not one of them. ;)

Regards,

Jock. :)

Hello jock. Yes the system is working now I have filled it , but when I was at Gus Lopez place he Sussed I needed a new regulator straight away!! So that is first on the list !! I really didn't think lack of water could affect it. But it seems to have done !! Gus ssid it's the original regulator and that is 20 yrs old mate!! Do need to change!!

So I'm sitting in the warm,, streaming an old western film on tablet ( desperado) and happily sipping a nice brew and eating a chocolate biscuit!!
Thinking about what to eat tonight?
I think today has been a good day on the whole. So far!! But wait for it !!!

My water tank is making lots of gurgling noises and when I turn the tap on I can hear the electric pump but I have no water coming out of taps ?? Can anyone hazard a guess as to what's going on !! No water at all from either kitchen or bathroom taps!! But they were running about 20 mins ago???

i know somebody that left their dog behind and drove 20+ miles before they realised. they drove back and there was the dog sitting patiently tied to a tree on the pitch. poor little soul
I hope we never do this

Never overlook the obvious... have you got any water in the tank?

I filled it up when I got here Bacchus and it shows I have just over half a tank left !! When I filled it biggun,,it did come out of a pipe underneath but only for a min or two! But I did fill the tank till it ran out the nozzle and it did spit at me !!! I assume that was the overflow !! I just turned tap on again and after a min or two of nothing it started to spit and then out came the water ( from the tap I mean). Turned it off when it was running for a min and now I just turned it on and it seems a bit slow at first but fine now !! Just air in there do you think ??

I don't know if this will be any help Ian, these people are Truma service agents.

Yes regulator is dodgy.

Half a tank ? Where's it gone then ? Check that there isn't anything dripping out underneath in case the valve did ift in cold & hasn't completely reseated.
Mind you if you haven't filled with water since you were here then you probably had run out completely.

Eddie says have you bled it properly

Ok. I seem to have water but takes a bit of time to start running. Now heating and water have been on for an hour but I have no hot water at all ?? Any ideas??

Make sure the red valve is up solid, switch both taps on cold, and run , they will splutter, but after a minute or two they should run ok ( Eddie says). :)

This thread needs a Government Health Warning.

Just been reading @ianthebuilder's tussle with the bed and nearly did myself a mischief from laughing..........for the umpteenth time on this thread.
Trying to read Ian's post it to Kate but had to give up due to chronic laughter and tears.
I can't take much more.........help!!!!

Richard.

Yes done that but I let them run for 5 mins then all good. But then when I turn them on five mins later I get nothing but splutters again and then it runs ok till I turn off and then nothing again five mins later !! And no hot at all?? Should I run water continually for however long and fill up as I'm running tap !!! Obviously with a bucket under grey waste pipe ???

Now my water tank is gurgling away like a bloke with diarreah!!!! Does that mean there is air in it???

Bleed the HOT tap by turning on JUST the hot tap and when it runs clear (no splutters) job done !!
And stop messing about geezer !!:LOL::LOL:

slopped my cup of tea reading about your bed,, i just got a picture in my head and burst out laughing.
need to wipe up spilt tea now and dribbles fron chin
:D:D

Right what I have done is. Open cap to fresh water tank ,,
Opened waste tank,,
Turned on taps,,
Filled tank slowly as taps turned on ,,
Water filling tank and running straight through taps out of waste. Seems to have worked. Taps running virtually straight away when turned on now !!
Fresh water tank not making any noise at all. Yet !!!
Taps not spluttering at all just a bit slow to start!!!
I will leave it now for an hour or two and see what happens then !!!!

Thanks lads I hope it was just air locked!!! I will update tomorrow. Because my head is hurting from the bed incident today !!! Xxx

well you have just described a stuck non return valve at the pump. run water for a few minutes and its fine. switch off and the water in the pipes runs back to the tank

That could well be the problem biggun !! Is it an easy fix for someone who knows what there doing or is there something I can do !! I suppose that would explain the gurgling in the tank with the water running back in ??
